She'd had constant nightmares. She rolls into work late at the NYPD, where it was just as chaotic inside as it was outside. She knew nothing of her past Angelic life before the fall of Lucifer. She was now a mortal, living a human life. She had a strong desire for seeing justice being done, so she became a detective. Newly promoted from the rank of police officer due to her extreme vigilance and hard work at catching criminals on the daily beat. With wavy messy hair and not bothering with make-up she slams herself down on her desk chair. She heard the yelling, phones constantly ringing of crisis. The crime rate rose sharply amidst the last few weeks of crazy weather. She put her head on her desk, so tired. All she wanted was some peace. “Crest! You're late!” Her boss screamed across the room. She puts a hand up and then drops it floppily down and gets up grabbing her cup of coffee. “Come on Sarge, I've been doing all hours too you know....” She sighs and sees the pile of paperwork on my desk. “Hey V. Got a potential lead on the Triad gang bank job.” Her partner Anna-Maria handed her a file. Varia completely ignored her as she stared at the morning paper. -Ramblings of Priest – Armageddon confirmed?- She picks up the paper. “Yield not the flames of heaven, yield not the fallen star, Yield not the blazing wings, Yield not the call, Lucifer has awoken , Lucifer has stirred, All heaven and all of earth shall tremble, Rise of once Archangel, Rise like the Bird of flames, Rise and be ready" Varia looks at Maria. “We've got to see this man.” Something in her mind thought this was all connected to the chaos in the world, all of her nightmares of what looked like angels and demons at war, blood being spilled that made her feel sick to her stomach, so much death. And so she set off to find the priest Axreon and learn more of his ramblings of the rise of Lucifer. As always, following her gut instinct and she turned out to be right most of the time.
