The idea is that they have to go kill a witch, but this witch outfitted her mansion with the challengers' innermost desires (so Nobuo would see tons of Aoi-chan merch, Kyouko seeing tons of pocky, etc.) and they have to overcome their desires to slay her or reach some non-violent solution.
