Obviously she was very happy to be away from her abusive mother. She had really sunk deep this summer. Always with a bottle of wine or something. Yelling and crying. But those were memories. Another year at Hogwarts had started, and she was more than ready for it. Until the ball announcement. Sarah's smile literally collapsed on her face. If there was one thing she despised, then it were formal events. Everyone was dressed up, trying to act on their best behavior. Some might be born for it, but not Sarah. She'd rather lock her up in the dorm than to come out. And even if she was forced to go, it would mean Sarah had to get a date. That was new ground for her. She wished she could talk to Ophelia now. But she was at the other table, with the other Slytherins. Though other news brought her smile back. The first Quidditch match. Fire sparked in her eyes. She pondered if she should go search Eva, the captain to discuss tactics or ask for a training schedule. She wasn't on the Quidditch team for that long, and almost everyone was older than her. So she reckoned she had to show how enthusiastic she was.
