The Sky Huntress, Mist

Personal Information
Name: Mist Gender: Female Birthday: 15/11/78 Age: 46 Height&Weight: 162cm/54kg Appearance: Typical of Valkyrie, Mist looks distinctively younger than her actual age. She has the look of a young maiden, with shining golden hair down to her shoulders (often braided) and intense, grey eyes. Her features are lively and full of youth, supplementing her lithe, flexible body structure. Her shape shows the slightest inkling of womanly curves, suggesting her to be on the cusp of puberty, and her breasts are noticeable albeit quite small. Her skin is flawless and fair, or something. Sasuga. Along with her usual style of dress outside of combat, she gives the impression of a girl who is comfortable in the wilderness, like the daughter of a crafty hunter or woodsman. Equipment: A skin containing spring water, and a skin containing mead (both originating from Valhalla).
Psychoanalysis
Merits: Mist is a level-headed thinker, with the ability to calmly preform her duty and calculate the correct course of action in a diverse variety of situations, including war. As a wanderer, she has a lot of experiences that she can draw upon for advice, and is frequently a good source of insight for whatever group she's a part of. Her mind is adaptable, and given a dangerous situation, she can quickly take on new styles of thinking that allow her to grasp a solution sooner than most others. When she finds somebody she considers her equal, she is able to preform coordinated teamwork to an astounding degree, and her potential as a part of a closely-knit team is very high. Under these circumstances, she works well with others. Despite her difficulty working with others in a group setting, she can usually serve as a reliable ally in times of crisis. While she is confident and can assert her dominance very strongly to intimidate others, she is not overconfident. She can usually tell when she is outclassed, and typically doesn't let her victories or perceived advantage get to her head. Flaws: As a natural free spirit, Mist has a great deal of trouble fitting into a traditional hierarchy structure. Without a concrete emotional anchor, she will always eventually evolve into an outsider in whatever group she is a part of, and gradually drift away unless she is very firmly held in place. Because of her nature, she may often become a source of tension in the group, as her loyalties are very easily questioned. While she is normally slow to anger, once provoked, her rage is unyielding. Holds long-lasting grudges. Typically takes a long time to calm down during bouts of strong emotion. Prone to depression caused by loneliness. In situations where she is forced to lead, the morale of her followers may suffer from her seemingly cold nature and poor loyalty to her comrades. Her potential for attachment is very high. What this entails, only time can tell. Tragic Flaw: - Personality: Mist is best described as a person that is difficult to come to an understanding with. Externally, she seems very cold and without strong values, an ephemeral person who is held together only by a very loose sense of duty and self-worth. At heart, she is a lonely and deeply emotional individual whose difficulty connecting with those around her results in a self-destructive free-spiritedness and aversion to forming sentimental bonds. While she doesn't get along well with others most of the time, she is at her absolute strongest when she is fighting for somebody else. Amusingly, this is her most powerful trait despite her problems with trusting and forming bonds with others. This is the kind of trait that will become much stronger over time, and as people start to get a better idea of her character. She has little experience dealing with her emotions, so when they burn, they burn strongly and unquenchably. Even though she tries to be serious most of the time, she also possesses a surprising cute side to her. Has a surprisingly strong competitive streak. In terms of "rational flight", she could be said to be on the absolute highest level, dominating all those below her with her superior speed, mobility and tactics in air combat. However, due to her preconceptions of speed, her abilities are somewhat limited so long as she continues to rely upon her own "individual power" for flight. In this state, she is still superior to most fliers, and some of her attributes (in particular, her aerial tactics) are completely unaffected by this change, but her superiority is still noticeably lessened. Upon mounting one of her favoured steeds, the full potential of her flying abilities are unlocked, removing all negative modifiers to her flying parameters. These powers and her overwhelming flying attribute are both embodied in the mount of her choice, which becomes something of an extension of her being, a "medium" through which her maximum speed and power can be expressed. Because of this, not only are her own powers fully unlocked, but some of the mount's own innate abilities can be drawn out as well. This change is not drastic, but is noticeably more than the sums of both abilities combined, indicating some sort of synergistic effect between the two. Includes the necessary ability to summon spectral mounts, at an appropriate rank. Soul Spear The staple of Mists's combat abilities, the Soul Spear is something that arose due to the lonesome Valkyrie's strong connection to the dead and the necessity of having a strong weapon. It is a weapon composed of a combination of necromancy and magical power, retaining the capability for awareness possessed by its inhabiting spirit, as well as the versatility and control provided from being a part of Mist's own magic. Made physical, it could simply be called a "Weapon formed from magic", and its strength and durability are certainly beyond the realms of conventional weapons (if only a little). It can still be damaged through intense exchanges with objects of equal or superior strength, such as other magical weapons, but won't be destroyed as a side-effect of its wielder's superhuman strength or unnatural environment. Mist completely misunderstands the nature of this power and lacks any real understanding with the spirit inhabiting the spear. Because of this, she is unable to access any of the spear's real power, and can only use it for its natural homing abilities and power to return to her hands after lost. She can use something like a "finishing move" of sorts with the spear, by charging it with her magical power before throwing and releasing it for a boost of speed, but it isn't really special enough to be called a finishing move in its truest sense. Spectral Huntsmen Using her control over the dead and her affinity for the Hunt, Mist can call upon the aid of several ghostly hunters mounted on spectral steeds, who can track down and eliminate her targets for her or act on their own as is necessary. They are able to act on their own, and possess excellent hunting and mounted combat abilities, but the origin of their power is from Mist's own magic, so they are unable to move a great distance from her without heavy support. They often accompany her on the battlefield, running down her enemies and aiding her in the collection of souls with their speed and maneuverability. Their ghostly mounts are able to ride through the air, much like their summoner, but without nearly as much finesse. Compared to their mistress, the Huntsmen are brutal, and will run down their prey without remorse. Because of this, they make excellent tools for intimidation, although they themselves possess no special magic about them. When it comes to straight up combat, they aren't particularly powerful, but they are proficient in joining together to run down individual opponents or scatter defensive lines. Cloudcaller With a power appropriate for her name's meaning, Mist is able to call upon clouds and fog to conceal her activities and reduce the visibility of foes and enemies alike. These clouds offer exceptional visual and auditory concealment, allowing her to move without her enemies knowing. By intensifying her power, she can call minor rain to an area, and give her weather more permanence. The thickness of the clouds formed can be made to strengthen over time, and in the presence of an actual storm, she can use her abilities to cause it to strengthen to an extent. She cannot use this power where "the possibility for rain doesn't exist", such as in areas of intense drought. Additionally, the properties of her power do change slightly depending on the climate, such as calling snow instead of rain in cold areas. Mark of the Wild Hunt Calls down the Wild Hunt on the victim, virtually ascertaining their defeat. Mist's usage of this technique could not be called unique in its nature, but all the same, it deserves to be explained for convenience's sake. In order to call forth the hunt, Mist must repeatedly permeate the desired target with a particular signature of magic, not compatible with any of her other abilities. This permeation can only be transmitted through direct contact, so put simply, she must "tag" her targets up to a certain number of times. For most varieties of targets, magical or mundane, a requirement of approximately four to six "tags" are required, but for those of a higher class than Mist herself, this number is inflated. A "graze" does not qualify as a "tag", the contact must be direct and meaningful under a specific definition. However, she does not need to worry about tagging a target through clothes or armour, as both cases still qualify as "direct contact" for the purposes of the ability.
