"Foul Play?" Cayne openly guessed in direct regards to Cadence’s inquiry. It was unlikely that anyone in the Republic's hierarchy or the council had any reason to sabotage the mission or jeopardize the S.E.U. Lightyear or her crew. Granted, the new local alliance was basically a commonwealth of outside explorers and refugees from the ever present war that has engulfed the quadrant. Dissent was of course a common factor that many expressed due to the conflicts and the hardships that followed but there was little outcry put against the Ostara Republic operations; not counting however the alien governments that stood against the Republic. Soon enough, Maxwel and Yamesh had arrived to the shuttle bay as well. The pilot clearly appeared troubled but did not voice his concerns and remained silent as he checked his gear. Cayne could only surmise that Maxwel may still be thinking about the current events and the voice both of them had heard. Admittedly, the circumstances were rather unnerving to say the least, especially when they were going to board a horror-set of a ship and prevent it from colliding with the S.E.U. Lightyear before their short time frame runs out. Yamesh however seemed much more lively if not a tad cranky. The Santerian scientist obviously had a noticeable case of a superiority complex over the lesser technologically adept species but Cayne tried not to pry or dissect that fact any further than he needed to. Yamesh openly explained the enhancements made to the teams helmet's and heads up display, describing the new sensor and visor functions, especially some sort of visual feed tracker that anyone could tap into within the squad's interconnected network and see what the other sees. Cayne of course had to begrudgingly agree with the Santerian's comment that Pathfinder lacked the adaptable software since the drone's similar function was only between it and it's human operator. Upon catching the ship underhandedly tossed by Yamesh that would grant the recon drone more adaptive perk, Cayne raised the chip into the air so Pathfinder could install it. [Click, click. Dweep, Beep] "I wouldn't think about it too much..." Cayne sighed as Pathfinder took and installed the new software. Yamesh then showcased another device that allowed the Santerian to remotely access any terminal upon the its initial connection. It seemed handy going by the device's design and conceptual purpose but he couldn't help but think the Santerian simply didn't trust any of them to meddle around with any particular piece of tech. The sentiment couldn't be more true when Yamesh revealed a prototype laser rifle as his personal armament. The weapon as described appeared very reliable and self-sufficient...Until he mentioned the possibility of the rifle prematurely detonating. Suddenly Cayne felt confident that Yamesh was the one handling the unstable weapon as he took and received one of the wireless hacking devices, including it with his other tools and gadgets.
