WIP
_________________________________ The Confederation of Nova Brasília _________________________________
Nation Name: The Confederation of Nova Brasília, so named because it is administered from the city of Brasília. Often time simply referred to as the Confederation, or less often Nova. Its people are still known as Venezuelans, Chileans, Panamanians, Brazilians, etc… but as a whole, are referred to as Confederates, Novans, or in a derogatory manner, Ninnies (due to the Confederations opposition to armed terrestrial conflict if possible). Map Location: Government Info: The Confederation government is barely there aside from a few basic functions. As the Confederation itself is really more of a mutual defense and free trade pact among various South American countries, that strengthened over time until they were officially all united into the Confederation. The original countries still manage their own affairs, including such matters as taxes and drug laws, with the only functions of the overall national government being the military, enforcement of human rights, expansion into space, and international relations. Military Overview: (Will do tomorrow.) Economic Overview: The Confederation is an economically powerful nation, with free trade policies and the collective economies of several South American nations amounting to one of the world’s foremost economies. Notable aspects of its economy include manufacturing with asteroid mined materials, advanced technology from the now massive “Chilecon Valley” and other parts of the nation, and the last remnants of Venezuela’s once vast oil reserves. Cultural Description: The Confederation is very diverse with no distinct culture of its own due to its unique structure, especially in its major cities such as Santiago, Buenos Aires, or Brasília itself, people from all walks of life can be found here, from big hat wearing Texans from up north, businessmen from Japan, European immigrants, the list goes on and on. Technological Overview: (Will do tomorrow.) Colonies: The Confederation has been aggressive in its space colonization efforts, devoting as many of its resources as it can to the new frontier. It has established sparsely populated mining colonies on several asteroids. And has been working for roughly twenty years on the establishment of the beginnings of a new Cerro Bolivar superbase like structure in Apollinaris Mons, as well as the groundwork for a large spaceport in the crater center. In addition, the Confederation has taken joint control of the colonization of Olympus Mons with (Eldritch’s nation), though work is going slowly. History: (Will do tomorrow.) Notable Individuals (Will do tomorrow.) Notable Landmarks

Cerro Bolivar Superbase - The imposing center of the Confederation’s terrestrial military operations. Built in the mined out heart of the Cerro Bolivar mountain, the superbase is home to almost a million people doing various jobs related to the defence industry. Many of the Confederation’s limited human military units are housed here, including such feared units as the Jaguar Interplanetary Marine Corps or 4th Armored Cavalry Division, the only such division composed of armor with an actual crew. The Superbase also boasts a large space elevator capable of rapidly transferring its forces into orbit for drop anywhere on the globe or mobilization out to the Confederations colonies in space.
Chilecon Valley - The booming futuristic center of the Confederation’s tech industry, Chilecon Valley has been a tech center since the early 21st century, and only grew from there. It houses many global tech companies and research institutions, as well as a full blown military research facility and other things.
Santiago Space Elevator - The city of Santiago benefits greatly from Chilecon Valley, one of those benefits being that it sports one of the world’s first and largest space elevators, having continually expanded and upgraded it over the years.
Santiago Spaceport - Much like its space elevator, Santiago boasts a large spaceport.
Brasília Space Elevator - A much more recent addition to the Confederation’s list of space elevators, the Brasília Space Elevator has only been running for six months, but already is proving a huge boon to the city.
Brasília Spaceport - Unlike its elevator, the Brasília Spaceport sprawls across hundreds of acres and has been long established, ferrying ships in and out of orbit for many years.
Buenos Aires Spaceport - A big spaceport. In Buenos Aires. Centered around the beginnings of another space elevator that has been dubbed, “The Second Obelisk of Buenos Aires”.
Panama Canal - The Panama Canal. Closed to any enemies in wartime.
Rio de Janeiro Superelevator - Quite possibly the largest space elevator in the world, the Rio de Janeiro Superelevator is the product of not only Brazil, but the entire Confederacy, and stands as a testament to their prowess in the world.
