This has amazing potential to go so poorly we are not bound to see the pre-history genre in the mainstream of this realm for many more years, or go so well that it becomes a trend. Unfortunately, I worry that it will be the former and not so much the latter.

Having said this... there's sabertooth cats, likely members of [i]Smilodon[/i] no less, in a modern game short of Skyrim. It has my vote for approval already.
