They would get greater technological advantages, that's all really; supernatural beings, as a general rule, have less of a use for tech I'd imagine. Nevertheless, they would also act as important connections between this squad and there 'master's' as a whole - they're creating this experiment, but most may never have even seen a non-human creature before, so having a human go-between/street connection/undercover etc would help a lot in the long run.
