Henry
Retreat? Well. Hopefully we have a plan. The older man blew from his cover empting a cylinder of his scatter shots in a wide arc providing suppression for the retreat as he rolled into cover behind his retreating allies. Switching the cylinder he let go with another salvo of fire as he back from cover. Ah Henry snagged his bag from the ground as he danced backwards narrowly avoiding incoming fire. As soon as he was sure everyone was behind him Henry started backing away. Which was when he noticed the water and oil slick ground he was walking over. The evil grin was one of a child who has just discovered they can sear ants with a focusing lense. Still backpedaling and laying down covering shots as best he could Henry’s mind raced as to the best way to set this up. There One of the gun man popped up from behind more of the junk in the landing area. Turning Henry shrugged his shoulders up and tucked his head to prevent a lucky headshot as the man shot him in the back. Whatever piece of ancient crap the man was using as a firearm had a low enough velocity that all it managed to do was smack Henry in between his shoulder blades. The nanosuit absorbed the shock and Henry pitched himself forward on purpose. It hurt like a bitch but it was necessary to set up the surprise he had in store. Landing on his forearms and absorbing the shock with his shoulders and elbows to preserve his wrists. Inadvertently triggering the grip increase in his right hand his fingers dug through the tar and cement surface of the ground like it was clay. Focus Sending a ripple of essence through the sheen of water on the ground behind him, Henry froze it into a subtle sheet of black ice with a layer of oil on top of it. Scrambling frantically as though he were about to be killed and he was running in fear. Henry cackled madly as he made his escape on foot. Behind him he heard the first satisfying yelp of surprise followed by a sudden sick wet crack of someone’s head impacting the ground. More howls of frustration and pain followed as Henry tore like a bat out of hell after his new allies.
