On the planet Onyx...
The den was dim with candlelight, the moon only providing scant light to augment the orange glow. Inside sat Raulyn, cross-legged and overlooking one of the earlier books referencing Archons. There hadn't been much progress lately and in truth, she didn't actually know much about these beings of power. She only knew that they commanded the classical elements as well as more obscure ones such as gravity or light and that they were able to transverse worlds - though she wasn't sure if this meant other worlds among the stars or the unseen ones that some scientists have theorized exist. Raulyn did know of several cultures that treated them as gods or ancestral spirits and even in some cases, as ascended beings of some sort - but none of this really shined any truth into what they were or how they got this power. Her mentor had been, with good intentions, obsessed with obtaining the powers for the use of good (even if Raulyn knew that nothing good would come of such a quest) and yet she was more interested in seeking the source. If the source was something other than supernatural, perhaps small specks of it could be used to advance technology, provide energy, and give everyone less worries about food, shelter, or even money. She wanted to better the world if she could and while there were certainly more practical methods, there had been several clues to the actual existence of these beings, and she supposed she was just one to chase unusual or outlandish ideas. Perhaps she was just following the same thing she had always done...
