[@Savato] As the belt of plasma grenades exploded, bright light and heat filled the area. The creature's arm was ripped apart by the combined explosive force of the grenades, the close-range force managing to overcome his incredibly tough hide. To some extent the Ethereal had expected it to flinch, or to halt it's assault. And yet it simply used the force of the explosion to pop up next to the next Muton, annihilating it's next target. It's vision was blurred, it's body was heavy. And yet it felt no pain, it felt no hesitation. While it did not feel the endless desire for destruction it's 'parent' had been driven by, it instead found itself lusting for ever greater levels of power, a path forged from the corpses of the fallen. It struck once more, and once more the Ethereal blew the creature's arm off, a cluster of grenades leaving it a torso on legs. And yet, as the second grenade blew up, they left a burned stump. Whilst at first this seemed surprising, the ethereal quickly realized the cause. The abomination was adapting, it's entire body learning through experience. Even as it's skin become more heat resistant, it's mind seemed to become more resistant to psionic interference. The effects of mindfray had left it temporarily weakened, and through it's own persistence it had lost both of it's limbs. However, mindfray would soon begin to weaken, as would the effect of further heat-based weaponry. The more he was exposed to such violence without a decisive blow, the more powerful he would become. Apocalypse laughed as the Ethereal mentioned it's existence meeting it's end. Already it's body had begun to reform, it's arms regrowing from the stump. "My existence is quite hard to snuff out. With every blow you strike, I become more powerful. With every life I take, I become more experienced. And yet you believe this Envisioning One will guide me? I need but know where my next victim stands!" The creature stands, taking a moment for it's body to rebuild. But it was clear that it would soon take the offensive once more. While Apocalypse was not without reason, it would take a clear display of force in order to persuade him he couldn't simply brute force his way through this situation. Of course, it would be rather hard to display the appropriate amount of force to impress a being such as Apocalypse.
