Empty.

It was not the sort of empty that he was familiar with, not the messy chaotic emptiness of a city abandoned from war or any other reason. It was just... empty. For years it seemed. Not one car, or a soul passed by, not even the feeling that he was being watched. There seemed to be animals around, but those were the only living things in this place that was not him so far. Some places were already being reclaimed by nature, green replacing the dull grey of the city. Questions ran through his mind as he walked aimlessly down a street, the one most often repeated was 'How'. How did he come here? How did this city come to this? How on earth was he supposed to explain this one to the boss?

The street signs that was still legible told him he was somewhere in Switzerland. That was one question answered at least. 

Eyes widening, Sam turned suddenly, the sound of what seemed to be gunshots echoing from somewhere. Survivors? Hunters? Or perhaps some terrorist types? Either way, he can't simply just walk away after finding nothing of real importance.

A few moments later, he had managed to sprint to where the source was, but had elected to keep himself hidden instead of going out. He has no idea of the situation after all, and the sight of that... thing floating around was enough to convince himself this was the right choice. It helps that the thing seemed to have company.

"[color=black]What purpose have you in such an empty world? A possible, lone interloper or maybe a genuine threat to our cause?[/color]"

[i]Save the girl,[/i] his instincts told him. It was something he would have gladly acted on, if not for that thing there. From what he could tell, it seemed the girl had shot at it, and yet it was floating to her nonchalantly, as if confident of its own abilities. Was this the one that destroyed this place? No... It didn't seem like it. It seemed more like that thing came here for other reasons.
