He reached for the portable radio on his belt. Before he called in his partner he hesitated.

[color=00746b]Ethan smirked. " You know what it is on now. Looks like there will be some excitement today,"[/color] he thought and returnined his radio to his belt. Adrenaline rushed through him as he charged into a full on sprint.  

He saw the thief throw down a dumpster to try to impede him. Ethan jumped over it with ease. Between being a track star during highschool and dealing with petty criminals for seven years, he was confident that he had the edge in this chase. The distance between the two began to close. 

[color=00746b]"Hey freeze! You aren't gonna go anywhere you thief!"[/color] he yelled out again.

The man jumped onto a fire escape ladder and began climbing. Ethan jumped a moment later, grabbing onto the ladder and attempting to reach for the thief's leg.
