Estelle sat down on the bed in the JESS dormitory, feeling her lap sink into the cushion was refreshing, for whatever reason she had feared the bed wasn’t going to be comfortable. She could’ve passed out right then and there, but alas, she had things she needed to do. She glanced out the window that was placed in the middle of the room on the wall opposite of the door. The moonlight shone through and although it didn’t seem as if it was all that bright, it lit the room perfectly. She had been told that she wouldn’t be able to meet her team until the morning afterwards, they were busy with a mission; so it was just her and the room for tonight. Out of the corner of Estelle’s eye she caught the glimmer of something metallic. It was from the doorknob, she could’ve sworn it had moved. She pushed herself up and off the bed and tried the light, but it didn’t work. She decided that she would go to the bathroom, but before that she wanted to memorize her new surroundings. It was something she did whenever she started living somewhere new. There was four beds, two bunk beds. There was a small desk on either side of the room and a bookshelf just under the window across from the door. On the desk on the right was some scrap pieces of paper, notes and a cup. On the other, a key that seemed to unlock a cabinet just underneath the desk. Estelle nodded, deciding she had adequately taken in her surroundings and placed her hand on the warm doorknob. ‘That was odd, it shouldn’t be warm,’ Estelle thought. She reached the bathroom, quietly singing a small Mistralian tune that she had remembered since birth. “My mother said this, that I should buy a sword and a shield, to go forth with hunters, challenge the grimm, Chase them from our homes, For when a man turns to murder, There’ll be more Grimm to kill.” Estelle cranked the tap that controlled the sink and she doused her hands in the cold water. Applying it to her face. Her vision blurred and even with an Owl’s eyes she found herself squinting, looking for her reflection. Her vision began to clear and once more, a glint from the metal doorknob caught her eye, as if it was turning and the light refracted from its reflection was moving. Estelle turned around, placing one hand on her sword. She would never leave without it. But it was not there. Estelle’s eyes darted around the small washroom, nothing was moving, no sound but the running water from the tap. She slowly let one hand reach around her back, she did not dare take her eyes off of the door. The tap squeaked as the water slowly but surely stopped coming out. Estelle did not even blink. Drip, drip, drip. Nothing. No sound but the tap. Estelle let a deep sigh out, she must’ve just forgotten that she put her blade down when she entered the room, she was sleepy already so it wouldn’t be too surprising. Estelle opened the door and began walking back to her new dormitory. A horrible noise poured out of the room, a guttural howl. Estelle prepared herself, making sure her Aura was active. She stopped dead in her tracks, glaring at the door, waiting. But once more, nothing could be heard and nothing was seen. As Estelle reached for the doorknob to her room, she barely caught a small noise. Drip, drip, drip. As Estelle whipped back around towards the bathroom, and it appeared as if the moonlight from her dormitory window was pouring out of the bathroom, with a strange looking shadow at the center of the moonlight. The shadow of a Grimm, not just any Grimm. The one that killed her mother. Estelle launched herself into the dormitory and immediately shut the door behind her, locking it. She placed her back against the door and felt her chest rising and falling. Every moment seemed to last an eternity, it even took her a while to realize she had been closing her eyes, that the room wasn’t that dark. Estelle’s breath was stolen from her. There were four beds, two bunk beds. On each bed was each team members personal affects, just like before. However, Estelle’s bag was unpacked. Her blade out on the bed. She glanced over at both of the desks. The desk on the left had scraps of paper, notes and a cup, the desk on the right had a key. Estelle felt as though something was off from before. She walked over to the desk on the right and grabbed the key. It felt warm. She walked over to her bed and grabbed her blade, also warm. She felt a small shiver run down her spine. She took the key back to the desk and sat on the chair in front of it. She took the key and deftly fit it into the keyhole just beneath the desk. How did she know it was there? She had only just arrived and yet she knew the location of the keyhole, she knew the key was meant for it. She had just arrived to this school, had trouble finding the dorimtory itself and yet, she knew where the bathroom was. She felt breath on the back of her neck and without looking she once again just knewit was the grimm behind her. She turned to look behind her and felt a coldness on her forehead, and it was sore. She opened her eyes. She facing the wall beside her new bed in the JESS dormitory. She had fallen asleep. She rolled onto her back breathing and finding a small tear escaping her right eye. But it wasn’t wet, on closer inspection it wasn’t a tear. She caught a small refraction of light from the doorknob moving. Drip, drip, drip.
