Kathleen had to fight the urge to smile when Atticus called her Kitty, he had an act for cheering her up and making her smile, even when she was annoyed and didn't want to. She still sighed rolling her eyes at him. "You don't know that Atty, she might just decide not to even give me a lesson today." She said with an annoyed huff before going up to her room without even bothering to worry that her annoyance would bother Atticus. After all he had always been able to ignore when she got moody with him, even in the beginning. Kathleen let her eyes look over the blonde man in front of her as he started talking about helping her getting her stuff to the cottage her arms crossed against her chest. She wasn't going to go off with some vampire that she didn't know. Though her stance changed when he introduced himself as Atticus, his smile made her give a small smile as well. Though she quickly hid it away, shaking his hand. "Kathleen Emerson, its about time. I've only been waiting a week to meet you." She complained a little though it wasn't meant towards him but annoyance at having to wait. She nodded as he said to take her time and turned her back to him, a tight smile playing on her lips as he said something about Mitchell and Ophelia arguing about what they were doing to the cottage, and laughed. Kathleen couldn't help but be a little surprised at how comfortable he already seemed. She grabbed one of her bags before turning her head and looking at the couple of vampires that like to stand outside of her door and talk loudly. "Thank you for that." Kathleen said as she grabbed her last bag, and moved a bit closer to him ready to go. She hadn't never needed a bodyguard before, she was more used to watching over and protecting herself. "Are you talking about Ophelia? I actually quite like her." She said looking up at Atticus before nodding at his offer to give her a tour. Even though he was still slightly more talkative then she was used to, she already liked him more than Mitchell. Once she was back in the kitchen and Lia confirmed that they were still going to be out in the garden she smiled excited again. "Great! Is there anything I need to get?" She asked her tone still slightly off but happy now also. Kat saw the look that Atticus gave her as she started to follow Lia to the door and headed towards the garden, and rolled her eyes again at him. Looking at him as he caught up with her and whispered an I told you so. "So maybe for once you were right Atty, don't get cocky." She said with a slight laugh. "That's not true." Kat said when he said that Lia would do anything for her. "Maybe she just wanted to be outside today too. I mean its such a lovely day for it." She added before looking up at sky and seeing the dark clouds that threatened to down pour rain onto them and ruin their lesson for today even though she had gotten her way, before looking at Atty. "Don't even start." She said with a small smile on her face. Even though Atty almost said that Lia would do anything for her, Kathleen always chose not to really believe that. But to believe that even though Lia sometimes did the things Kat wanted, it was only because she wanted to do it herself. Even if that didn't seem the case sometimes. Although Kat would never really be the one that would say it, she would do anything for Lia as well. She looked up to her, in a way that she hadn't looked up anyone since she was a child, when she and her mother had been on good terms still. "Kitkat, why can't you just try to do this for me?" Her mother asked crouching down to where she and Kathleen were eye to eye. Kathleen had been trying since they joined a dark clan to talk her mother into leaving. "Because I liked it better when it was just the two of us." She answered softly her tone sad. She was stubborn and didn't want to share her mother with the others, or the warlock her mother was dating at the time that pulled them into the clan. "You know that I would do anything for you sweetheart, but it will be safer for us here. We'll be far away from the humans, and the kids around here are like you." Her mother said trying to argue that this change was a good thing. Kathleen only frowned looking away from her mother towards the other children playing, and casting simple harmless curses on each other. "They won't play with me, they said I was weird. And they don't find my jokes funny." "Their just jealous, because they can tell you're going to be stronger than them. You're special." Her mother said, her fingers reaching over and touching the pendent which had a chain that at the time was oversized and hung from Kathleen's neck. It matched the one her mother wore, and it always made her smile when her mother did so. "Promise me you'll try?" She asked and Kathleen frowned a little nodding her head. Her fingers reach up to her neck, where she used to wear the pendant as she remembered her last actual good memory of her mother. Half of her life had been spent in that clan and just as she had feared when they joined it ruin the bond between her and her mother. Just like Kathleen she mother went darker and darker, to the point she was a heartless bitch, and Kathleen didn't care about anything but herself. Though she still had the pentdent it had been broken for years after a fight between them, and she hadn't the heart to fix it yet. The other pendent laid buried with her mother. Shaking the thought from her mind as Atticus placed the thermos in her other hand and she smiled softly at him before taking a sip. "Thanks Atty." She said before Lia hollered for them to stop at the lavender, and she nodded seeing him wave Lia off as they came to a stop before being asked to pick some rosemary and sage. She started picking the herbs ignoring the little bit of rain that fell down on them, knowing that Lia wouldn't let a little rain ruin their lesson if her nightmares didn't. She handed the herbs to Lia before sitting Indian style across from Lia, looking over at the guys sitting in the circle as well, before looking back at Lia. As simple and harmless as the lesson sounded, she couldn't help but feel a little nervous about the idea of a new way to draw energy. She was used to taking as much as she needed, when she needed it. Kathleen nodded her head a bit nervously watching as Lia started to demonstrate. -- Mitchell frowned when Lia said she wasn't going to cancel the lesson because Kathleen was excited for it. He shook his head as she stood up and looked around her room. "I think you should be more worried about your magic being missed up rather than what Kat wants Lia." Mitch argued, before patted his shoulder, and headed downstairs. He didn't really care about what Kat wanted as much as keeping Lia safe. The last time she was having bad enough dreams to snap at people, he barely had gotten her out of the cottage. He really didn't want something to happen because of these lessons. Still he followed her down the stairs, still not quite sure he agreed with the lesson still being on. "At least tell me that this lesson is going to be a simple one." He said following behind her, his voice hushed. He nodded a little looking over at the crates by the door when she asked him to carry them, talking about the lesson. Very pure sounded simple too him, and so he was happy again, or as happy as he could be not winning the argument. Mitch could almost hear how badly Atticus felt about upsetting Lia, and when she simply waved it off making another cup of tea, Mitch gave Atty a quick pat on the back smiling as he sat at the table waiting. Soon Kat joined and Mitch grabbed the crate full of plants before heading to the door himself. Though as he passed Lia holding the door opoen for them, he stopped and waited for her, falling into step with her easily. Mitchell raised an eyebrow when Lia said she didn't want Kat to know that she was meeting with Checkov but nodded. "Of course I will, honestly I'd rather you not be alone with right now either. Though it is something that concerns her safety directly I'll have to tell Atticus even if it is kept from Kat." He answered her, he wasn't going to keep something that could hurt Kathleen or Atticus to himself, just as he hoped Atticus would do the same. Atticus was good at his job and it was quite possible that he could even be as good as Mitchell one day, it was a reason why he offered to train him, one of many. Two weeks, Atticus had only been in training for two weeks, and Ophelia already seemed to hate him, it was almost like she was trying to scare him off. Mitchell wasn't sure what Ophelia had against him, but she was giving the newie guard a harder time than she even did Mitchell when he first started working with her. He was starting to worry that Atticus was about to give up on his training. It was the first time that the two of them got a chance to talk during the daytime without Lia around, when Atticus came and sat with him on the bench by the lavender. He couldn't help but smile a bit when he said she was scary. "Well witches usually are a bit scary." He said looking up the path to see her coming back, and he couldn't help but watch her closely as she walked back towards them, shaking his head when asked if something was wrong. It was rather annoying that he felt the way he did about her, not only because he knew he couldn't really come right out and tell her. But also because it was a risk to her safety. It was the reason that he had offered to train Atticus himself, other that he knew the newbie had what it took to be a bodyguard. He looked back over to Atticus when he asked if he could this. "I do, Lia is just hard to get a long with, she was hard on me the first few years we were together. You'll get used to her and things will get easier, its only been two weeks. This is a hard job, there will be a lot of scarier things than Lia. Sometimes you even have to protect them from themselves." He said before sighing and looking at Ophelia starting her way into the garden. "I wouldn't have offered to train you if I didn't think you'd be good at this." He said smiling a bit and looking back a him. He shook his head having stopped beside Lia without even realizing it as she sat her crate down, he looked down at her as she picked the crate and started walking again. She wasn't her normal self today, even more then the last few days, and he was starting to worry that he might have to make another mad dash to the cottage to save her again. Mitchell helped Lia a little by handing her the things from the crates as she needed them for her circle while Atty and Kat picked rosemary and sage. When Lia said to come in the circle he gave a quick uncomfortable look to Lia and Kat before stepping in side the circle.
