[indent]In some years past Sapphire wielded her mother's original Nightmare Blades: Morpheus and Phobator however a particularly disastrous encounter with her younger sister returned those weapons to the Rode Household. Having studied the construction with enough detail to recreate the weapons from memory Sapphire made some improvements.

The bracelets that held the Nightmare Blades changed. The originals were simple leather which the disassembled weapons could be clipped to. Metal bracelets were forged, these could be expanded on command into powerful bracers. They were made of a light durable metal that expanded to cover Sapphire's knuckles and stretch to just before her elbow. The bracer could served to store dust capsules and rounds. It also acted as a conduit for dust. On top was an spot intended for dust capsules to be placed. The bracer could then wield the dust to devastating effect, whether it be a flame thrower or taser. A tactic that Sapphire enjoys is placing electric dust in one bracer and magnaton dust in the other. She would slam her fists together activating the dust and allowing it to mix to create a large electromagnetic pulse that knocks out electronics for a limited amount of time. 

The daggers themselves were incorporated into the bracers. Though they could be removed Somnus and Melinoe locked into place, on the right bracer the blade directly over the knuckle giving Sapphire a pointed punch and deadly weapon. The booster in the pommels and the dust empowered metal only furthered the power of her hits. Each blade has a inscription on it in ornate gold runes, Somnus reads "Take me up", while Melinoe says "Cast Me Away". This is a reminder that someone will always pick up weapons against her, if she puts her own away at any time for any reason it could cost her everything. The blades of both daggers glow with a bright white light when aura is channeled through them.[/indent][/indent]

[indent][color=Black][i]Aegis[/i][/color]
[indent]Sapphire's mother was a master of folding space and collapsible weapons. Though the little girl only had the first twelve years of her life to learn her mother's secrets she learned them very well. The Aegis is a collapsed shield within the collapsible bracer on her left arm. When fully expanded Aegis is thin and wide yet surprisingly sturdy, made from the same light weight metal as the bracers Aegis is based on an old folk legend that Melanie once told Sapphire. It has the monstrous image of the Riesen class Grimm: The Gorgon carved into it. This monster was said to be so hideous that its victims turned to stone upon seeing its face. Though her shield does not replicate this power, the hideously disfigured face creates an aura of fear and terror in those that see it. Sapphire doesn't usually use the shield in standard combat considering it to be "not a fair fight". She's more than willing to use it should the opponent show signs that they cannot be taken down by her normal methods but she keeps it in reserve. If you are a strong enough fighter that it forces her to make use of the Aegis then while she'll still willing destroy you it means you've earned her respect as a combatant.

When the bracers are completely collapsed the bracelet is a little larger than the leather one she used to wear and the boxes that house Somnus and Melinoe are prominently displayed.[/indent][/indent]


[color=MidnightBlue]Semblance:[/color]
[indent][color=Black][i]Selective Sight[/i][/color]
[indent]Sapphire’s Semblance utilizes her aura as a protective shield around her body. Through the barrier other people are unable to perceive her in the same manner that they would normally. In most cases this will render Sapphire unnoticeable to anyone not currently aware of her. Sapphire’s semblance does not actually render her invisible but simply imperceivable. Because Sapphire is not actually invisible the illusion her semblance creates is delicate. As long as she stays out of people's way, and avoids drawing attention to herself she can remain undetected but if she does anything that would cause someone to take notice of her the spell will shatter. For instance a loud yell, hitting someone, anything that draws immediate attention causes her semblance to become ineffective. 

If someone is actively aware of Sapphire’s presence her Semblance will not cause her to vanish so much as make it difficult to pay attention to her. The field would interfere with the person’s normal senses of her, she would appear blurry to them, any sound she makes they would be unable pinpoint the exact origin of it and even their awareness of her position might become off, though only within a foot or two. It is more effective in dark or extremely bright settings where some part of the environment is interfering with her target's ability to locate her as well as her semblance. It is even effective on automated systems such as weapon targeting systems and security cameras however just as with people if she does anything while on camera to draw attention, loud noise, break something, open a door the camera may not become aware of her as a whole but it will see something foggy and indistinguishable in her place which in the case of a weapons targeting systems would give it ample data to detect a threat and lock onto her as a target. 

With concentration and effort Sapphire is able to use a burst of aura to extend her perception shield to those close by, though it takes a significant amount of effort. When this ability is in use Sapphire's perception of the world becomes slightly unfocused as if she is viewing the world through a lens. It is not so bad that she can't run but important details may slip past her notice. After using this ability for periods of time her irises will turn pitch black. The length of this alteration depends entirely on how long she has been using her semblance, it could last minutes, hours or sometimes even days. If she uses it too excessively the blackness will spread from her irises to the whites of her eyes. During this period Sapphire will exist in a state of temporary blindness whose only cure is to stave off using her semblance. The use of her semblance is not always a conscious effort either, when she is scared, stressed or angry it may activate on its own. Some people have a natural immunity, usually creative people whose view of the world is not bound by barriers or restrictions like most peoples are, it may range from being able to glimpse her while the fields is active to the ability having no effect on them at all.[/indent][/indent]

[color=MidnightBlue]Personality:[/color]
[indent]Sapphire has had several traumatic experiences that have left her dead to the world. She sees everything through veiled glasses of mistrust and deep seated paranoia. She's not an angry person though. If anything she's severely dispassionate. Often times Sapphire will pull stunts or take insane risks just to remind herself that she is indeed still alive. She is rarely induced to anger but her moods can change with the winds. One moment she is high, cold and cruel the next she is like fire, warming you as long as you feed it right, but feral and violent and destructive when neglected. She has very little sense of what the words "Odds of Success" means. To her it is simply the level of impressed people will be when she completes her task. The more impossible the situation Sapphire is faced with the more she will grow calm and smile and destroy anything that stands in her path.

Years of living on the streets have honed Sapphire's observations of other humans and faunus. Her keen sight lets her pick out the slightest tells, so much so that when alone in a room with her you could swear she could read your mind. She is very skilled at manipulating people, telling them what they want to hear, stroking their egos and threatening their pride till she can make them do anything she wishes. Though she always works alone her name carries a great deal of weight in underground circles. In the Kingdom proper she is something of a legend, a ghost story parents tell to their children, "Be good kids or Titania the Fairy Thief will steal your souls away".[/indent]

[color=MidnightBlue]Appearance:[/color]
[indent]Sapphire has dark blue hair which looks almost electric in the pixie cut she maintains. Her eyes are blindingly green and her skin is unusually pale and nearly flawlessly smooth. She has an hourglass figure with an athletic build and physique. Her lips are ruby red and usually slightly parted in a small smile, letting her sharp canines shine. It gives people the impression that she always knows something they don't and she might devour them at any moment. Her wolf ears peak out from a denser patch of almost black hair giving her a sensational sense of hearing. Her finger nails are short and trimmed fine but this is a deception that hides the retractable claws that she won't hesitate to use to escape or destroy her enemies. Sapphire wears a brown leather halter top that leaves her shoulders and back exposed displaying the lattice of long white scars that decorate them like a web. She wears tight black pants and soft leather boots that lace up to her knees. She has an old folklore symbol of the Tree of Life tattooed on her lower back. Sapphire though decorated with many scars has one that stands apart, a long white scar that stretches from her ear to just short of her nose.

With her striking green eyes, ruby lips, blue pixie hair, wolf fangs and revealing cloths Sapphire exudes a strong presence of sexuality and power. Both of which she uses to her utmost advantage. She uses her beauty and her femininity to put people off their game and outside of their comfort zone. Men are so much easier to manipulate when they have no idea what's going on.[/indent]

[color=MidnightBlue]History:[/color]
[indent]Sapphire's upbringing was not at all what you would call smooth. Though both her parents Janus and Melanie were human Melanie's mother was a Faunus. While her daughter did not inherent the traits of the Wolf Sapphire was not quite so lucky. Of course inherently there was nothing wrong with being born Faunus, that was if you lived in a normal home. Sapphire's father Janus however had always believed that the Faunus represented a faction of humanity that had begun to devolve. He was determined to be as far removed from that as possible. That was no longer an option when his own daughter was born with wolf ears and sharpened teeth.

Initially Janus was not violent. He showed far less favor to Sapphire and made every attempt to avoid her company but he was civil if stiff when he was with her. Janus preferred the company of his eldest son and daughter Oliver and Cecily. Everything changed when Melanie died. Janus went mad with grief. He started pushing Oliver in his huntsman training much further than Oliver should have been pushed but Sapphire bore the brunt of her father's anger. When he was sober he was cruel to her but when he started drinking he became dangerous. Sapphire's shoulders are decorated with scars from a whip that he used to use on her. The little girl suffered till she was age twelve. Five years under Janus' cruel arm and something snapped inside her. During one of the rampages Janus drew against her he brought out two small black boxes. Cracking one on the desk it transformed into a dagger. He cut her face with it in his rage and that was the final straw for the girl in blue. She grabbed the other black box from his desk and slammed it into her father's chest. The dagger expanded out of it impaling Janus Rode through the heart.

Blood coated Sapphire's hands as she looked in shock at what she had done. Oliver found her there not long after. He'd come to defend her against their father and instead found Janus dead and Sapphire with the spark in her eyes dim. "Sapphire, sis." he said. She snapped out of it. "I didn't mean it." Sapphire said suddenly terrified at what Oliver would think. "He was hurting me. I just reacted, it... it wasn't my fault." As she said it Sapphire touched the blood that was dripping down her cheek and suddenly she didn't know who she could trust. Oliver had always been her father's favorite and he had no more love for the Faunus than Janus did. What if he reported her to the police as a murderer. She couldn't survive prison. In a moment that changed her life forever Sapphire grabbed the Nightmare Blades from the ground and ran from the property.

Sapphire lived on the streets for the next years. She learned the places she could hide out in. Janus' abuse had taught her how to defend herself and given her a healthy distrust of others. Using every advantage available to her Sapphire fought every day to stay alive. She stole what she needed and bit by bit she started acquiring skills, lock picking, deception, manipulation, stealth, pick pocketing. The Nightmare Blades kept her safe, they were better quality and versatility than any weapon the other urchins possessed. Though stealing dust for it was difficult. 

Eventually the White Fang found her. A street girl with scars all over her body and hunter level weaponry. How could they not take an interest? The White Fang taught Sapphire to fight and defend but when her mentor was killed in a raid Sapphire split from the organization. She trusted very few people and didn't put it past the terrorist cell to destroy her should it come to that. She became a professional thief, stealing for anyone willing to pay her for her services, she even worked with the White Fang on a contract basis.

The Rode family hadn't died out either. The three remaining siblings, Cecily, Oliver and Demetra were taken in by Melanie's parents. Demetra who had never known her father, only that he was killed by her older sister who had run shortly afterwards attended Signal then Beacon, determined to hunt her sibling down and get revenge for the loss she had suffered. She graduated Beacon top of her class and has been hunting Sapphire for the last eight months. In one of their few encounters Demetra managed to steal her mother's Nightmare Blades back from the rouge Rode. This was when Sapphire created Somnus and Melinoe.

Sapphire became known to Beacon and the local police force as a variety of aliases, centering around a common theme, Pixie, Titania, Fairy Thief, Fairy Queen, Hobgoblin. It came from the way she infiltrated homes without a sound, without setting off any alarms and without any evidence save for the missing items and a symbol carved on an amulet she left at every one of her heists. Similar to how the fairies of old folklore would steal children from their cribs without a trace.

Though amoral Sapphire is not sociopathic. She has a conscious, albeit a very skewed one. She has no qualms about hurting anyone that gets in her way but she has a rule. She doesn't hurt anyone unless she has to or they deserve it. If a daughter caught her in the middle of a heist Sapphire would knock her out but nothing more serious. On the other hand during one of her jobs the Pixie found a man holding seven girls in his basement where he planned to sell them. The girls were released that night and the man never seen again, no body, no witnesses, no evidence. Sapphire disassembled him, piece, by piece, by piece. She does however have no regard for collateral damage for someone is put in danger indirectly because of her actions she will feel no responsibility towards that person whether they be an innocent or not.
