Cyano Conablum
Before Cyano had time to respond to Sam, she would find herself transported into what was presumably the "ethereal ones" main ship. Not that she had time to look around and make certain. The ethereal had already headed towards the door. As it reached out to the door, the ethereal warned her about the creature. "A restoration of motor functions would suggest perhaps a lack of sentience. And if it's already developed a resistance to your abilities, then it's highly adaptable. Which would make its DNA highly unstable." Musing over that and drawing her own conclusions, Cyano continued to follow the ethereal until they reached their destination. The room they entered was in stark contrast to the atmosphere of the rest of the ship. Rather then dim and blue, this room was bright. Obviously this was the lab. A pod holding the creature was in the center of the room. Though why it had wires was anyone's guess. If it was strong enough simply bashing against the glass could be enough to rip the wires out, or even worse, destabilize the ships balance. Though, that wasn't her problem. Already the creature was beginning to stir however. It's lifeless body twitchin every once in a while. Of course, then the ethereal began to speak again. And then it became her problem. Ignoring everything else, and knowing what she had been told, the one thing that stuck out was the embryo. "Wait a second, did you really just tell me that you stuck an embryo into the body of something that you know is highly adaptable, and can reform itself without even the most base of motor functions? As a failsafe? Following the rule that if something bad can happen it will happen, I hope for your sake whatever you put in that thing was something safe, and preferably cuddly, like a kitten. Otherwise your going to have a but of a problem on your hands. But insight... well..." Cyano returned her multi weapon to her belt and began to pace around the room. It would be painfully obvious that Cyano was about to go on a rather long spiel. "Alright, so what we know is that this creature is highly adaptable. As far as you told me. And we know that even though you basically destroyed it's brain, it's reforming, and quickly. We can draw a few conclusions. First off is that it has a highly unstable DNA that can change itself within a shirt amount of time. As for a few basic facts we all should know that DNA is constantly being created within living beings. Normally DNA simply recreates itself over and over. Supposing it's adaptability is as high as you would say, this means that this creatures DNA does not recreate itself, but rather adapts itself to fit the creatures needs. It would also have to recreate itself incredibly quickly. Which in itself would be a result of another factor. But I won't go into that. Now, onto the matter of the "fail-safe" you mentioned. First off, if the creature really is that adaptable, then right now that embryos DNA is more then likely binding itself to the creatures DNA. So when it's reformed fully it will have features relating to the embryo. This means, in short, your fail safe is more then likely a failure. And if such is the case we can assume that any other such modifications would quickly be overcome. Therefore we would need to find the source of this adaptability, and find some way to neutralize it. Once that is out of the way, you could theoretically do what you want to the creature. The DNA would still be unstable and ripe for genetic restructuring. Of course in order for it to not adapt to the attempts to neutralize it, you would need to "kill" the creature. As in fully stop all of its functions. Seeing as how it's already reforming death is not an option, as new DNA would still be created. So the second option is to freeze the process. There are several ways to do this..." Cyano would drone on about it, her extensive knowledge shining through. Though, the matter still remained and would no doubt be on the ethereals mind, that the question now wasn't how advanced Cyano was compared to the ethereals resources, but how advanced were the ethereals compared to Cyano's technology. "...as brought up the speed of which makes live genetic restructuring impossible, supposing that's what you wanted to do. Alright. That's enough thinking for me today. Do you have anything to drink on this ship? That's also safe for my consumption?" Finishing her spiel, Cyano leaned back against one of the walls, and let herself slide down to the floor. Hopefully the ethereal caught all of that as she wasn't repeating herself. If her slack jawed imbeciles of a genetics team could do something simple like a live genetic restructuring, it should be mere child's play for this obviously so advanced race to freeze the creatures reproductive system and do a deceased genetic restructuring. "Oh, and food. I don't know about you but I think on a full stomach"
