Elowen looked troubled and spelled the word where she walked. She was a black cat, a pariah of the human race. At least that's how she carried herself. Bleached hair was her crown, messy, full of pointless waves and curls. Underneath was an undercut with her true hair color which raced all the way up along behind her ears. Her brows were dark brown as the rest was meant to be, penciled and boldly shaped. Her eyes were smoke and blue, smudged and tired. Years of restlessness fell on her tall, leggy frame. Her weight not overly so, but hardly under. There were nicks, scratches and tattoos a plenty but no piercings to be seen. Her hands were weathered with the long fingers of a violinist, a pianist. They were littered in rings and drawn on with heavy, dark inks. It wasn't uncommon to see a smudge or two on her otherwise pale and flaw-free face. No rosation, no freckles or blemishes.
Clothing Style
Her clothing is a myriad of bohemian and black and white. Largely layered, but not without taste. She wears a lot of shirts messily tucked into ratty shorts and large, high-waisted bell bottoms. Often found in plaid or solid, heavily-wrinkled button up shirts, sometimes floral or a thick morning sweater. Rumors are she has a few pairs of killer heels tucked in her suitcase but is most often seen in moccasins or simple hiking boots...
Scars, Tattoos, Piercings
A tattoo of a plae deer's jaw at her rib, surrounded by shamrocks and clover colored from greens to deep purples. Has hints of drug abuse, faint scars and one rather large dent on the top of her hand (where they carved out infected, dying flesh in an emergency surgery). Surprisingly she has no piercings.

G E T T I N G T O K N O W M E

Likes & Dislikes
✔Stormy weather. She finds it therapeutic to scrub the dishes or clean the floors.
Habits
1. Nail-picker. The last time she'd been on her own she developed a few reckless, nasty habits that she is still battling her way through. With her recklessness comes a restless behavior that bears constant pacing, fidgeting and the need to keep her hands busy. Low is the type for volunteer work, asking all the right questions until the job is done. That being said, Low has excellent work ethic. Of course... teamwork was never her forte. She'd much rather go it alone once assigned. She's been at the camp year after year, rarely noticed beyond the counselors and a fairly keen camper or two. She's always been shadow-bound, not shy but an introvert of peculiar class. It is with bonds that she comes crawling out of the woods, able to spare energy saved for those she thinks worth the time. She has an anxiety about her where she feels that whatever she does is not enough. That her presence is more of a burden than a blessing. It isn't something that she voices often. Her insecurities are tucked away until she reaches a breaking point - which is an issue she is still working to this very day. Whether it's tears, harsh words or fiercely backing away, the recovering addict finds a way to distance herself and repossess the situation. In time, she does come back to the matter and might follow up with an apology. This, again, is in her own way. Not uncommon, but unusual and to be accepted with careful consideration. Glass is a woman who knows there is something missing in her life, and almost wanders like she too is incomplete. The bleached gal is the type to wander into people, things and bounce off into nothingness. She seems to surge forward from this though in close company, somewhere more secluded and linear. It isn't her heart aching for romantic connection, rather, it searches for a like mind to swim beside on a quiet, starless night where they might ache together.
Place of Origin
Troy, Michigan.
History
Low grew up in a troubled home with a father who always fought bankruptcy. Her mother had fallen to her own addiction (which she found out later), but her father had simply said that she ran away never to be seen again. It caused an early struggle between dependency and independence. She'd ran from home three times before the age of nine, shacking it at the train tracks, with the homeless who insisted that she shouldn't be out if she had a home. Low always returned though, to a father who seemed to have cleaned his act up if only to get her back. It never lasted long. Her father, Judas, had never been skilled at saving money, the man never felt the need. It put the true meaning of struggle in her life. While her father had benefits brought on by the state, he struggled to use it for the right things often indulging in anything - everything unhealthy. As she grew Elowen withdrew, watching her father delve into drugs until she too went down that dark and dangerous path. It was age thirteen that she tried her first drug. It was thirteen and a half when she became addicted to her first pill... and fourteen that she'd adopted more than a few dangerous hobbies. Low was not a party girl, she didn't thrash around with the junkies at the high school or sit with the popular girls. Rather, she swept in, gathered what she needed and went elsewhere to get high, forgetting herself in a boiler room, under a tree, at the car compound... In high school, grading became more difficult. They kept introducing new techniques and learning styles for the children, rather than what they already knew. Her grades obviously suffered, she never made it into a healthy group of friends and her health and appearance were on a rapid decline. Her clothing was mismatched and torn, rarely washed and she never had money for lunch. An investigation brought on by the school exposed her lifestyle - how mistreated she was, the addictions she faced. She was pulled away and placed in a mental ward meant to help her fight her addiction in an enclosed environment. Staying there through her schooling, she'd gone to the camp yearly as a healthy exercise to reinvent herself... But damage always takes time to heal. And before it gets better, it shows. It isn't beautiful, it's nasty.
Extra
She's a still-recovering drug addict. Since there are no drugs, the camp is her safe haven.
Theme Song
In Between – Beartooth [sub]”Life just sucks when all you know is the bottom It's not your choice, there's no escaping it Get up and run as far as you can Head to higher ground while there's a chance to live”[/sub]
