A military coup disposed of both the Prime Minister and President and led to Constantinus Basil Palio Komnenos taking control of the nation. He declared Greece a monarchy and began Megali-Idea like activities by promoting Turks as subhumans. Soon, tensions began to rise between the Greek nation and the Turks. The Turks continued to "elect" (rigged election) Far Right Islamic parties which angered majority of the population. Constantinus died on September 15th, 2035 from a heart attack, leading to his only son Justinian Constantinus Alexios Komnenos to take the thrown as Emperor. Justinian put the Anti-Turk policies into overdrive and he began to plan a war against the larger and stronger nation. Justinian could finally put his plan into effect when the Turks declared war against Cyprus to conquer it. Greece soon joined Cyprus in the war and because Turkey was the aggressor Nato couldn't join in on any of the sides, leading the two nations into a slugfest. The war was going Turkeys way until simultaneous the Kurds and the Anti-Islamist parties began to revolt against the government. The Kurds treated the Greeks as bringers of Freedom which helped the Greeks begin an occupation of the Turkish territories. They took Istanbul in 2045, two months before the Third World War began. Justinian began a massacre of the Turks in the city, stating that their blood fill the Bosporus to the brim. He reinstated the Hagia Sophia as a Church and created the throne of the Patriarch of Constantinople in the church. Soon, the cities population of 25 million was destroyed and the re population began. He began encouraging Coptic and Assyrian immigrants from Syria and Egypt to come to the city along with the Greeks he sent to "reclaim the orthodox homeland". While the re population of Constantinople was going on the united Cypriot-Greek armies where pushing the Turks out of Cyprus. They captured North Nicosia officially ending the nation of Northern Cyprus. From there the nation of Cyprus got peacefully absorbed into Greece. The Greek troops that where planted on Cyprus where transferred to reclaim the city of Antioch from their Turkish oppressors. Greek troops marched from Constantinople and soon they where nearing Ankara. Once the Greeks recaptured Antioch both armies began to siege Ankara from Northwest and Southeast. Once the city was captured all who lived in it where murdered, and the nation of Turkey was weakened to an extent it had never seen. Once Greek troops marched into areas of the Kurdish revolt they made a deal with them, saying that they could become the majority in Syria if they peacefully allowed the Greeks to take the territory in Turkey. The Kurds accepted the offer and soon Turkey became no more. Nearly one thousand years of oppression in Asia Minor had finally ended, the Greeks began to call themselves the Second Byzantine Empire and that name got on, eventually becoming the official name for the nation. Justinian then set his sights on reclaiming Sicily and Sardinia for his Empire. The conquest came quick with the Italian nation surrendering in just 4 months. Malta fell next, with a bloody siege resulting in a Greek victory. After that the Byzantine Forces took Corsica from the French and finally, they had their eyes set on a full control of the Mediterranean. The Spanish East coast conquest was the hardest fought of the Mediterranean conquests but it fell, and Justinian's conquest where finally complete.
Politics/Society
The Second Byzantine Empire is ruled by an Emperor and the Governors of the states. The Governors are all people who are appointed by Emperor and can be considered advisers to the ruler. The Byzantine Empire gives equal rights to all inhabitants except the leftover Turks, still using its subhuman policy to describe them. The Byzantine Emperor himself has set up a new Pentarchy with Orthodox Patriarchs in Antioch, Constantinople, Barcelona, Athens, and Ankara.
Economy
The Main productions of Byzantium are Minerals mined and Agriculture. They typically don't sell armaments to other nations because they want to keep the gear for their own military. The Byzantines use the Hellenic Drachma as their currency.
Military
The military of Byzantium is based upon overpowering the others. It has a forced conscription of 5 year for anyone above 18. The main tactic of the Empire is a modified version of Blitzkrieg. The soldiers of the Empire are trained to attack hard and attack fast. Justinian Constantinus Alexios Komnenos, Emperor and general of the Empire trains his troops to be as brutal as possible, not caring about civilian casualties as long as he wins the war. This strategy worked for him in the conquests of Turkey, Sicily, Malta, Corsica, Sardinia, and the Spanish East Coast.
