History .:. Heirn was born and raised in a rather small village in the kingdom of Daneskold. His early years are largely forgotten, and his life was mostly playing with small children until the age of 8. At this point, his father began to teach him the ways of blacksmithing, though this was by no means full time. Heirn took to it quickly, and enjoyed it immensely. By the time he was 12, Heirn was a good apprentice to his father. He spent what free-time he had exploring the forests around his small village, occasionally venturing out with his younger brother or the only other boy his age in town, Brom. In a fall during an adventure on a frozen lake, Brom was drowned, and Heirn given a long scar across his chest from a long, thick branch sticking out of the lake. Heirn blames himself for Brom's death, and from that point forward promised to adventure with vastly more care. He worked towards defending himself, and learning about the envirionment and how to handle it. His father helped him create his sword when he was 14, and he was gifted his mail shirt a year later. Heirn was doing well at blacksmithing, and his life, when the riders came for him. He was stunned to learn he had been chosen, but after getting over his initial surprise, was quite pleased that he would be going. His mother opposed his leaving, for obvious reasons, but his father told them both that if Heirn wanted it, then nothing would make Hanslo prouder than seeing his son become a Dragon Rider. Erika relented, and so Heirn, with a heartfelt goodbye to his family, left to pursue his new life. .:. Contacts .:. -Hanslo Vaulenfold, Father. Hanslo is a blacksmith in Heirn's home village. The man served in the war, but generally avoids speaking about it. He is quiet and composed, and rarely shouts. He is widely regarded by the other townsfolk as a voice of reason. -Erika Vaulenfold, Mother. Erika is the loyal wife to Hanslo, and serves her job well as his assistant and mother of the family. She is the more outspoken of the couple, and townsfolk often visit her for gossip -Joseb Vaulenfold, Brother. Heirn's only sibling, which his parents have recieved some mild ridicule over (that fact that there are only two children), Joseb is the constant thorn in his older brother's side. He's happy, carefree, and clever as a fox. He often finds himself in entirely too much trouble for his own good, and Heirn has to get him out of it. .:. Hrox Dragon Rider: All Riders share an intimate link with their dragon which allows telepathic communication. They also possess the listed effects and abilities. >> Ageless: No longer physically ages, unless they chooses to. >> Magic: All Riders are capable of utilizing ‘The Song’, but because of this link to their dragons Riders can tap upon their dragons well of magic, allowing them to access spells that are impossible for non-Riders. >> Increased Attributes: As Riders and Dragon mature and their link grows stronger the Rider takes on aspects of not only of the dragons personality, but physically as well such as tough skin, cat eyes, etc. As a rider progresses in age their body also adapts to The Song, this manifests as strange colored markings on the face and hands that glow when The Song is embraced, this glow is the same color as the Riders Dragon. *All of a Riders abilities are a direct reflection of Age, the older the Dragon and Rider, the more powerful the abilities become.
