Appearance (Real Life): Height: 177 cm (5'10") Weight: 65 kg (143 lb)) Hair Color: Dark blue Eye Color: Dark violet Name: Ray Ryuga Age: 17 History: Coming from a reasonably prestigious family with both Western and Eastern heritage, Ray's IQ for his age has always been quite remarkable, and his persistence in any given task moreso, leading his grades to be consistently excellent, even exceptional throughout his early years. However, the importance of succeeding in Deep Ground Online was consistently crammed into his head, the same as every other child; yet in his case, it had the opposite effect to what was intended. He was smart, and he knew it; moreover, he was more than motivated enough to get any job in a system where one's performance in a game didn't have any sway, and in his somewhat childish arrogance, he didn't see any reason to not try and prove that the system held no sway over him. Thus, even though the game software was bought for him and installed the same as any other thirteen-year-old, even being sent up to the Purple Crown Academy for his continued education, he refused to even start up the game, instead dedicating himself to his studies and to both Purple Crown's track team and swim team in an effort to prove his independence. This lack of gameplay did not go unnoticed by anyone, least of all his parents, who tried to convince him at every opportunity that he should get involved in it. He steadfastly refused to do so in the first instance, but time started to wear down his defenses, and he began wondering if he was making the right choices after all. He was seriously questioning himself as he neared his seventeenth birthday, and the push that finally changed his mind came when his parents took him to see an old friend of theirs: somebody who had tried to pull off the same thing as Ray himself was engaging in, and was subsequently punished with a job far below what he was capable of. The man frantically warned Ray of the potential consequences of his arrogance, telling him over and over that it wasn't worth it before Ray's father ended the encounter. Still, it was enough to shake up Ray's worldview, to shatter his pride, and to convince him that he needed to get into the game proper as soon as he possibly could, something he could manage having already ingrained most of the academic knowledge he'd need for the next couple of years into his brain through sheer persistent rote to ensure he'd recall it when the time came. He figured that he could change the system personally as a politician, rather than relying on his own force of will to prove that using a game to dictate social status was absurd. Over the next few days, and working with his parents in the time before the new school year at Purple Crown began, Ray devised a build for his character that he believed would be able to level him up as fast as possible, at minimal risk to himself, involving the use of the Ranger class, and various abilities to improve his ability to remain hidden alongside general range- and power-enhancing abilities, so as to kill things as quickly as possible, from as far away as possible, without being noticed. With all that said and done, Ray finally created his character, entered the game proper, and joined the Fanged Rangers as soon as he got an opportunity, spending a fair amount of his time after that both in the game and, once he returned to Purple Crown again, in a couple of part time jobs to receive additional experience. All this paid off, as he hit level 2 very rapidly for someone who had only recently started the game, and even managed to get halfway to level 3 in a very short span of time indeed... but alas, it could not last forever, and he was abruptly dropped from the Rangers with no reason given, only receiving the statement that "that's what they do" after asking a few people from other guilds. Incensed by what he saw as frankly outrageous behaviour, he decided then and there that he wanted to make a statement. Something huge enough that he'd never be pushed aside like that again... Personality: Ray is a motivated and intelligent individual, and typically considered quite handsome should he choose to put himself in the spotlight. He tends to put out a calm and composed air, though his confidence and determination can sometimes get the better of him if misdirected, as was the case for several years when he chose not to partake of the Deep Ground Program. Furthermore, he usually approaches his activities with a lot of theoretical knowledge, using this to help fine-tune his practical abilities when necessary. That being said, he is not actively antisocial, and generally aims to be warm to his fellow classmates in real life where possible. This changes once he enters the game: his drive to achieve his goal of in-game greatness to support his longer-term goal of actual greatness often drowns out his friendlier aspects, and he rarely talks to others in the game itself, generally staying away from groups of people unless he has to. Also, his recent revelation about how important the D.G.P. actually is has led to slight panic attacks prior to his actually starting the game, and even now, he worries that he may not achieve his goals and be effectively sentenced to a life of drudgery.

Appearance (Avatar): Avatar Class: Ranger Avatar Title: Joker Monochrome Avatar Level (Initial): 2 Avatar Guild: Cobalt Bruisers Avatar Abilities:
The projectile velocity of all ranged weapons wielded by the player is multiplied by 2x, with an additional degree of multiplication added if the weapon is a sniper rifle and/or if the weapon is considered a heavy weapon (usually those that require two hands to wield, though weapon class may alter this requirement somewhat), for a total velocity multiplier of 4x with heavy sniper rifles. This velocity multiplication substantially increases both the effective range of all ranged weapons and the difficulty of avoiding any projectile fired by the user, proportionate to the degree to which velocity has been multiplied. Weapons affected by this also gain a damage boost based on the velocity multiplier, equal to 5% + (5% per lvl) per degree of multiplication, such that, for instance, the basic damage boost to ranged weapons at levels 1, 2, and 3 respectively is 20, 30, and 40% for most weapons; 30, 45, and 60% for sniper rifles and non-sniper rifle heavy weapons; and 40, 60, and 80% for heavy sniper rifles. Additional benefits from this ability are acquired as the player levels up: at level 3, all ranged weapons gain armour and damage reduction piercing of 10% per degree of velocity multiplication, such that most ranged weapons will possess piercing of 20%, heavy weapons and sniper rifles will possess 30% piercing, and heavy sniper rifles will possess 40% piercing; at level 6, semi-automatic rifles acquire the same degree of velocity multiplication as sniper rifles, meaning that they nominally possess a 3x velocity multiplication, or a 4x velocity multiplication if they are also heavy weapons, with all associated values increasing accordingly; and at level 9, the base velocity multiplier of all weapons increases by one stage, such that most ranged weapons possess a multiplier of 3x, rifles and heavy weapons 4x, and heavy rifles 5x, with all associated values increasing accordingly.

An activated ability that can only be used with a ranged weapon capable of firing multiple projectiles before reloading, which alters the player's next shot to fire every single round remaining in the weapon's clip or equivalent ammunition supply, surrounding the resulting projectile in a haze of plasma. This mega-bullet acts fairly similarly to a single round fired from the same weapon, including velocity multiplication as described above, but deals damage equivalent to the number of projectiles that were expended to produce the mega-bullet, plus an additional 5% magical damage per expended projectile; the drawbacks of this ability include the obvious need to reload after every single use of this ability, though this can be circumvented by certain abilities and/or feats, and the fact that mega-bullets are very visually obvious, meaning they can to some extent be noticed from afar if a player is observant, and even utilised to track a path back to the firer if the player pays attention to the projectile's pathing, though their typically extreme speed of motion generally means that they remain inobvious through other means such as auditory output. Additional benefits from this ability are acquired as the player levels up: at level 5, any given mega-bullet gains an additional 5% magical damage per expended projectile; at level 7, mega-bullets gain a 2% chance per expended projectile to shatter any shield, armour piece, or other piece or equipment that it strikes, rendering it useless until repaired, with a 0.5% chance per expended projectile after the initial breaking to permanently destroy such items if they are not "unique" (e.g. by being items that only ever drop once per player) or otherwise exceptional in some way above and beyond most other items; and at level 9, mega-bullets add another degree of velocity multiplication to projectiles on top of the base velocity multiplication of an otherwise normal projectile of the corresponding type, with effects as described above.
Feats: L3: L4: L5: L6: L7: L8: L9: Other: After the events described above, Ray has chosen to join the Cobalt Bruisers over attempting to rejoin the Fanged Rangers, citing his capacity for long-ranged assault and support as a selling point for protecting other players. In truth, however, he has not yet been given much opportunity to help with any event organisation, and he has been quite silent about what he does with his free time in-game.
