Sekváli spacecraft, like most species's, lacked beauty. They looked to be cobbled together with spare parts. There was no uniformity to the lines, hardly any to the material used to plate these fighters that now silently crawled through space toward the Monroe. Their formation betrayed their desired illusion of cohesion. There was little communication between the ships; inequal distancing between individual fighters, some lagging behind, others moving too fast. It was something that Shaso͞on was always keen to notice after serving nearly 40 passes in the Ju'yavāl golden fleet. He waited now, watching the approaching ships, and after noticing that they were oblivious to his presence he began to make his move. The leading ship and the two flanking it moved right past him, passing within 600 meters of him. The three behind moved out to flank the Monroe, separating from the leading three and moving much closer to the floating Ju'yavāl. Shaso͞on could feel their faint mental presence, the Sekváls' focus singularly on the object of their current hatred. The first fighter passed under Shaso͞on, the remaining two following behind in a column formation. Shaso͞on emitted a brief burst of energy behind him, propelling him down onto the hull of the second Sekváli ship. His landed softy just above the cockpit and could feel the presence of two beings within. He remained still for a moment, allowing himself the time to fully dive into their minds before opening up with his initial attack. All memories of the two beings were brought to the forefront of their minds, overwhelming their senses and drawing a sudden mental scream of anguish that meant Shaso͞on had done his job well. The thrusters for the ship cut suddenly, causing the ship behind it to halt suddenly to avoid careening into it. Shaso͞on pressed himself against the hull and crawled along to the cockpit before putting his hands directly over the glass paneling. Emerald green flames of psionic energy ignited from his cuffs and sliced into the glass, giving sound to the vacuum of space for only a brief moment as the air within the ship was torn out. He rotated his wrists, cutting circularly until a hunk of the cockpit was torn out and one of the Sekváls was sucked out into the vacuum. Shaso͞on wasted no time admiring his handiwork and quickly went to climbing across the hull, moving parallel to the now circling fighter that was looking to see what was the matter. The remaining fighter stabilised in front of the now dead fighter and surveyed the damage. Shaso͞on could feel their thoughts, feeling grim vindication for what he had done. It had disabled the second ship and paralyzed the third in fear. Though fear was a flighty emotion, so he moved quickly. Shaso͞on kicked off of the underbelly of the dead fighter and propelled himself to the other ship, quickly reaching it and taking hold of one of its side mounts where there was an airlock. He could feel the horrible chills of the void of space beginning to overwhelm his shield. Already some of the moisture on his body from the ship was crystallising on his flesh. Shaso͞on did as he did with other species and explored the brain of the Sekváls for language, quickly piecing together a way to tell the one nearest the airlock to open it and save their comrade that had been sucked out of his ship. The Sekvál seemed to buy the ruse and moments later the airlocke opened up, allowing Shaso͞on into the intermediate chamber. The airlock sealed behind him and the inner door opened up, facing him with a beast that stood nearly as tall as him. It had a stout stocky neck, pink layered flesh and minuscule beady eyes set into a murine skull, its mouth filled with massive teeth larger than Shaso͞on's hand. It shrieked in what Shaso͞on believed to be rage and dove at him, biting ravenously, only to find itself on top of a freshly formed blade. It slumped over onto him and he had to shove it off of him, the other Sekvál already abandoning its seat at the helm to come help its comrade. The dead beast fell onto the floor with a wed thud and Shaso͞on moved into the main corridor of the ship, lurching backward deeper into the ship as the remaining Sekvál struck at him with a swipe of its clawed hand. He reached out and grabbed at the beast's throat, only to find that the flesh was too thick for him to simple strangulate the creature. Its mouth split open, revealing its gaping maw and horrid buck teeth, before it brought them down onto his wrist. If it hadn't been for his shield, he would have lost his hand. It opened wide to bite again and Shaso͞on struck out again, igniting the blade in his other hand and slicing into the creature's right arm, severing it in its entirety from its body. The creature screamed and staggered back, giving Shaso͞on a chance to pursue. He had wanted to non-lethally subdue it. Information was more valuable than anything else. He moved in again, deactivating his shield and enabling his cloak, disappearing from the sight of the Sekvál. It reacted to that by wildly striking the air around it, narrowly missing Shaso͞on with a wide left swipe. Shaso͞on positioned himself behind it and moved both his his wrists behind its hips, igniting his blades a final time, tearing apart its joints and collapsing its legs out from under it. It screamed and fell to the ground in a pile of flesh. "Raymond Chase," Shaso͞on broadcasted to the commander of the Monroe as well as those in his immediate presence, reaching out to the crew as he turned his back on the Sekvál to examine the cockpit for anything he could potential make use of. His smooth voice resonating in the heads of the crew, having a quality as if it were echoing itself. "Rear two Sekváli fighters disabled. I will begin interrogation on my hostage briefly. I will gather information from the onboard databases and return it to-" He was cut short, feeling a white-hot pain in his low leg. He twisted and spotted the disabled Sekvál's fangs planted in his calve. In a swift motion his struck down with his blade, severin the beasts head, its jaw relaxing and releasing him. The gaping wound oozed yellowed fluid, his normally clear blood having been tainted by the Sekvál's venom. Shock was enough to numb the pain for the moment and while he could feel the burning sensation crawling up his leg, it was the weakest it would be and he still had some time. The delay was no more than twenty seconds, but it was likely enough to clue the crew in that something had happened. Nevertheless, he continued, "I will return it to the ship for analysis. If I have not returned in time for launch, assume I have succumbed." His voice vanished with his final word and with that, he got to work.
