Raymond had just put on his suit, thinking about just how stupid this plan of his was. Of course his stupid plans have always worked out in the past, but this might be the lucky exception that could end the Marauder's winning streak. Was he terrified? Going out there in the voids of space to fight against the most poisonous species in the known galaxy? Of course he was. He was scared, angry, nervous, and everything in between. But the greatest warriors don't hide from fear, or try and get rid of it. In ancient Greek mythology for the human race, Deimos (the god of fear) and Phobos (God of panic) were the sons of Ares and Aphrodite. War and Love created Fear and Panic because when going headstrong into a battle, the fear of death keeps you on your toes. Panic of losing everything you've worked so hard for keeps you motivated. And the love you have for your crew mates' protection is what keeps you diving in to war over and over again. The airlock opened to reveal Rae walk in, giving him a stare that he's seen far too often. As she began to politely yell at Raymond, a faint smile crept on his face. "Come on, Rae. We've definitely seen worse things than the galaxy's deadliest poison... Although I had a feeling you'd be joining in. Glad to see the lack of sleep hasn't changed your ability to tell me how stupid I can be." He gave a faint grin as he placed his helmet on, and locked it in place. Terry was the next to join. Another veteran of the Marauders. He gave him a rather quizzical look, wondering just what he was doing here. It wasn't that he didn't like him. He had a large amount of respect for Terry, but close quarter combat wasn't his strongsuit. Using his charm was. As the three of them suited up in silence Addy's annoyed voice came in through the intercom. Raymond couldn't help but grin. Stressed out Addy was one of his favorite types of Addy. "Copy that, Navigator." Raymond said back to her through the communication device in his helmet, then looked over at Rae. He knew she would take that as a challenge. She won't have anyone die on her watch. "If us three go out there, We have to make sure we either get our asses back here in one piece, or take out these rats completely so our ship can get away." Raymond said casually, checking his equipment. He spun the cylinder on his revolver around, and then swung it into place. It was a family heirloom in a sense, and it has saved his life many times. He then looked down at the glove he had equipped. On the palm was a device that generated a wire that produced a strong electrical current that created a very powerful whip. He rarely used this weapon for many reasons, but it did save his life a few times as well... The Committee said that it was his father's weapon. To spite his old man, he swore that he would use it only when he had to. "I never ordered you two to come with me. I know we are all a team, and we are assigned suicide missions all the time... But if we get bit, we will have a very long, and painful experience. We have to get back here alive and in time for that warp." He stared at the two, he wasn't trying to scare them, and to be honest he wasn't expecting to. He just wanted to clarify the risk they were taking all for one man. Complain all they want, Raymond knew that the only person who was responsible for the crew's life was himself. If they lost a member they would ask Ray how it would happen, and to give them a full report. They would look at his actions and judge him for it. He was sick and tired of being judged. Judged by the law for committing a crime he never did. Judged by the Committee for being nothing but the ring leader to a bunch of criminals... Judged by his sister for saying he left her... "Tango, release the airlock doors. Keep that timer going, and warp when you can't take another hit. We will be back shortly." He said in a calm voice. "Once more into the fray. Into the last good fight I'll ever know. Live and die on this day... Live and die on this day." Before he did any stupid decision in his life he liked to mutter that poem softly mostly to himself. It gave him assurance.
