The student didn't show any signs of a fight, but Rick kept his guard up anyway.

Amethyst then proceeded to say to Rick that she could handle herself - a phrase he'd studied rigorously. It was more than likely a lie, from what he'd read. But he didn't have much time to muse about this as Amethyst pushed the student he'd confronted out of the way, threatening him slightly. Rick disliked this, but he had to get this guy to go away.

That made Rick [i]snap.[/i] He didn't have time to hear what the arrogant prick said afterwards, as he immediately grabbed his shirt with both hands, throwing him into the dirt.
