He had been good at his job, but he enjoyed settling down. He and Nora had four children together, and he had two from an ex-wife - all of which were now adults living in either Philadelphia (his home town) or New York, cities he had lived in over the course of his life. When everything happened, Philip headed straight for Philadelphia with his wife to find his children. Due to road blocks and army intervention, however, they didn't make it in to the city and instead joined up with a refugee camp, which Philip provided medical support for. One night the camp was obliterated by a horde of walkers, two thirds of the refugees being killed, including Nora. Philip, broken by the loss of his wife, fled with the remainder of the refugees before eventually crossing paths with Luke Martello, who brought him and the others back to the army camp. For the past 298 days, Philip has been the go-to doctor for the community.
Personality:
Philip is a kind man, but he is not cut out for the end of the world. Yes, he is willing to cut a man's leg off and sew him up, but he has never killed a walker, and he never wishes to do so. He's a religious man. Too religious. So much so it makes him naive. He does not understand the full extent of the issues, which is probably just denial as he has lost his wife and probably his children too.
Appearance:
5'11. African-America. His hair is grey, short, and balding in the middle. He often covers it with a blue baseball cap. He has a short beard. Always keeps a cross around his neck.
Former Occupation:
Surgeon.
Family:

Nora Cleveland. Wife. 59. Deceased. (Secretary)
Six children. Status, unknown.
