"All we need to do now is to register for the competition," stated Shiranui.

"Well, lets get to it." Liam replied as the heroes began the trek to the Pokemon Center. Upon arrival, Liam stepped up to the counter. Joy smiled and welcomed him and Shiranui both by name. Liam figured that one of his many distant relatives had informed her of their arrival. Liam handed over his Pokedex and opened his badge case for his badges to be scanned. Joy plugged Liam's Pokedex into the computer and his trainer ID photo appeared on the screen, along with statical data in his Dex, such as the number of Pokemon he has seen, the number caught, The number of times he has had a Pokemon evolve, etc. As each badge was scanned it appeared on the screen. Once Joy finished, she typed on the computer and it began processing. A Big green ✓ appeared ontop of the images already displayed with a bell that sounded like someone just correctly answered a question on a quiz show sounded. Joy returned the Pokedex to Liam along with a book, similar to what the Indigo and Johto leagues had given. "Congratulations, you are now registered in the Kalos tournament as contestant #2." Joy said. Seeing as they were the only ones here, Joy said that this meant Shiranui would be #3 after his registration was finished ad that there was two and a half months before festivities began. There was now a room booked for them to share.

"That will be an adequate amount of time for us to get some training in," stated Shiranui.

Liam went to call his mom and tell her. She informed Liam that Clair was holding a special tournament in Blackthorn City. She went on to say it was a tournament for "Dragon and dragon-like Pokémon." The winner would receive the Dragon Fang. The tournament started in a few days, so Liam had to teleport to take place in it. liam realized he has a few dragon Pokemon that would very likely be unique to the tournament. Since the Dragon Cup would be a week tops, it would leave Liam with plenty of time for his other planned training for the last few months. He thanked his mother for the info. She then had to go, a trainer just rushed in carrying the Raichu they tried to use against Clair's Pokemon.
Liam went to Shiranui. "Well, I'm off to do some special training." Liam said.

"Alright, Liam," replied Shiranui, "Have fun."

Liam thanked Shiranui and had Sherlock use Teleport.

Shiranui flew back to Lumiose City on Honoh. He wanted to find and catch Hoopa.

Liam appeared back at Blackthorn City's Pokemon Center and altered his team so that everyone on it qualified for the tournament. He went to the Blackthorn Gym. Liam found that the tournament had prelim battles in eight brackets of eight. The winner of each bracket went onto the main event. Liam won his bracket using: Hydra, Axew, and Attrocitus, the Red Garados from the Lake of Rage. Liam found that trainers had come from all over. Some were gym leaders, like Clair. Some where even Elite Four. the top eight were as follows:

Clair defeated her first opponent's Flagon, Gabite, and Sceptile with Kingdra, Gyarados and Dragonite.

"Flygon,the Mystic Pokémon. Flygon is nicknamed the 'Elemental Spirit of the Desert', Because its flapping wings whip up a cloud of sand, this Pokémon is always enveloped in a sandstorm while flying. Flygon whips up a sandstorm by flapping its wings. The wings create a series of notes that sound like singing. Because the “singing” is the only thing that can be heard in a sandstorm, this Pokémon is said to be the desert spirit.

Gabite, the Cave Pokémon, and the evolved form of Gible. It love sparkly things. It seeks treasures in caves and hoards the loot in its nest. As it digs to expand its nest, it habitually digs up gems that it then hoards in its nest.

Sceptile, the Forrest Pokémon. The leaves on its forelegs are as sharp as swords. It agilely leaps about the branches of trees to strike. It agilely leaps about the jungle and uses the sharp leaves on its arms to strike its prey."

Liam was up against Hoenn Elite four member Drake.
Drake started off with Flygon, who Liam countered with Attrociatus. Next, he used Altaria, who was able to finish Garados off. Liam sent out Hydra the Deino, who beat Altaria, but lost to Salamance. Drake's Salamance battled Liam's Dragonair to a draw. Liam advanced.
Drayden used Druddigan, Fraxure, Haxorus, Dracaena used Noivern, Druddigan, and Daralarge, coming out the winner. Lance's pair of Dragonair and Dragonite battled Iris' Axew, Gible, and Dragonite. It came down to the Dragonites, with Lance's ultimately winning, But the fight between the Dragonites took a long time, as neither refused to lose.

"Druddigan, the Cave Pokémon. It races through narrow caves, using its sharp claws to catch prey. The skin on its face is harder than a rock. It warms its body by absorbing sunlight with its wings. When its body temperature falls, it can no longer move.

Fracture, The Axe Jaw Pokémon, the the evolve form of Axew. Their tusks can shatter rocks. Territory battles between Fraxure can be intensely violent. A broken tusk will not grow back, so it diligently sharpens its tusks on river rocks after the end of a battle.

Haxorus, the Axe Jaw Pokémon, the final form of Axew. They are kind but can be relentless when defending territory. They challenge foes with tusks that can cut steel. Their sturdy tusks will stay sharp even if used to cut steel beams. These Pokémon are covered in hard armor.

Daralarge, the Mock Kelp Pokémon. Their poison is strong enough to eat through the hull of a tanker, and they spit it indiscriminately at anything that enters their territory. Tales are told of ships that wander into seas where Dragalge live, never to return."

Liam next faced Clair. Clair chose Kingdra, shiny Druddigan, and Dragonite while Liam used Attrocitus, Hydra and Axew. The Latter two evolved, and the battled finished in a battle of shinies.

"Zweilous, the Hostile Pokémon, and the evolved form of Deino. The two heads do not get along. Whichever head eats more than the other gets to be the leader. After it has eaten up all the food in its territory, it moves to another area. Its two heads do not get along."

"Welcome to the final round of the First Annual Dragon Cup!" The TV Commentator boomed on the PA. "We have seen some strong battles and fierce Pokemon from all over! All final round is sure to be one for the record books! In the Red Corner from right here in Blackthorn City, we have the winner of last year's Johto League Silver Conference, Liam Coleman!" The was a bunch of cheering. When it died down, he continued. "In the Green Corner, also from Blackthorn City, A member of Kanto's Elite Four, Lance!" The crowd cheered again. "The winner of this match wins the Dragon Cup, and claims the prize of a Dragon Fang which increases the power of Dragon Type Moves." Lance sent out Dragonite and Liam called out Hydra.

"Iron Tail into Twister!" Liam called. Dragonair smacked the chunk of ice and made shards, which were flung by Twister toward Dragonite. The combo defeated Dragonite. Lance sent out Gyarados

Gyarados used Ice Fang on Dragonair. Dragonair was badly hurt and evolved into Dragonite.
"Dragonite! Dragon Dance!" Liam called.
"Gyarados, Hyper Beam!" Lance called. The attack hit Dragonite. Dragonite used Draco Meteor, KO'ing Gyarados. Lance called on one final Dragonite.

Lance's Dragonite made quick work of the weakened Dragonite. Liam was left with one Pokemon left. He smirked. "Well, I guess it's time for my secret weapon." Liam said as he held up a Master Ball. "Go!" Liam shouted. Zygarde emerged in its 50% form. The stadium became quiet at the sight of the Order Pokemon.
Once he recovered from shock, the commentator stated: "Amazing! It seems Mr. Coleman has obtained Zygarde, a kegndary Pokemon believed to appear when the ecosystem of Kalos is disturbed. One can only wonder what events Liam witnessed in Kalos to allow him to encounter such a Pokemon."
"Sandstorm!" Liam called.
'Ice Beam!" Lance called. Zygarde evaded the attack

"Dragon Pulse!" Liam called The attack hit Dragonite square on.
"Draco Meteor!" Lance called. Both attacks hit.
(Sand 2)
"Sludge Wave!" Liam ordered. Sludge covered the area, poisoning Dragonite in the process.
"Ice Punch!" Lance called. Dragonite's frosty punch hit Zygarde in the gut, freezing it. The poison and sandstorm however, finished Dragonite.
"The winner if the Dragon Cup is Liam Coleman!" The Commentator bellowed. Liam used an Ice Heal to defrost Zygarde. Liam accepted the Dragon Fang. He left to have his team healed up. This tournament only took a week, leaving Liam plenty of time for training at the Battle Chateau.

"Congratulations, Liam," praised Shiranui, having watched the battle on a TV in Lumiose City. His research on Hoopa was so far fruitless until a golden ring containing a portal appeared. A note fell out and Shiranui read it.

"HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR GIFTS MOON CHILD?
I PICKED THEM OUT JUST FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIEND
I WILL CHALLENGE YOU TO A BATTLE IF YOU FIND ME IN THE PALACE
GOOD LUCK!

Shiranui knew of the palace referred to in the note. With the lead in his mind, he set off southwest for the Parfum Palace.

Liam arrived at the Battle Chateau. He began his training to reach the rank of Grand Duke.

Shiranui reached the palace gardens and looked around. "If I was a wormhole-creating djinn, where would I hide?" he mused.

After much training and rotating though essentially all of his Pokémon, Liam reached Grand Duke.

During Liam's battles to become Grand Duke, Croconaw evolved into Feralagatr.
"Feralagatr, the Big Jaw Pokemon, and the final form of Totodile. Feraligatr intimidates its foes by opening its huge mouth. In battle, it will kick the ground hard with its thick and powerful hind legs to charge at the foe at an incredible speed."

Shiranui eventually found Hoopa. "Hi there, I'm Hoopa," the djinn greeted.
"You can talk?" Shiranui asked, dumbfounded.
"You didn't expect that Meowth to be the only Pokémon that can talk verbally, did you?" asked Hoopa with a grin.
"To be honest, yes I did," answered Shiranui. To that, Hoopa broke into laughter.

"Time to get down to business, I challenge you to a battle," said Hoopa after calming down.
"I accept your challenge, Hoopa!" replied Shiranui, "Yoto, I choose you!" Yoto drew himself out from behind Shiranui's back and sized up his adversary.
"This'll be fun!" Hoopa commented, throwing a Shadow Ball. The attack landed, causing major damage.
"Yoto, Autotomize!" The Aegislash shed part of his blade, making it look narrower but sharp. "Now, Shadow Ball!" Thanks to his weight loss, Yoto was able to outspeed Hoopa. The Aegislash transformed to his Blade Forme and threw a Shadow Ball with his non-shield cloth. The attack struck Hoopa for heavy damage. Hoopa disappeared to Arceus-knows-where and Shiranui recognised the attack as a Phantom Force. "Yoto, King's Shield!" The Aegislash changed back into his Shield Forme in time for Hoopa to strike Yoto from behind, bypassing the protective nature of the Aegislash's attack. Yoto was looking worse for wear. "Ultra Ball, go!" Shiranui threw an Ultra Ball at Hoopa and the djinn was drawn in. It took longer for the ball to shake as Hoopa tried desperately to break free, but after the third shake, the ball snapped shut.

Shiranui let his new friend back out. "Your Aegislash can throw a mean Shadow Ball," Hoopa commented.
"Yoto's been with me for most of my journey through this region," replied Shiranui, "This is the part where I give you a name."
"Well, since you have a propensity for giving Far Eastern names, I'd like to suggest one," offered Hoopa, "Is Majin a fitting name?"
"I like the way you think, Majin," Shiranui accepted, earning a smile from the impish djinn.

"I've been hearing through the Grepa vine about a place called the Diamond Domain," stated Majin, "You should check it out."
"I think I will," replied Shiranui, recalling Majin and making his way to the nearest Pokémon Centre.

Liam got Sherlock and teleported back to the location of the tournament.

Shiranui got more information about the Diamond Domain from Xeimei including the fact it was ruled by a Pokémon known as Diancie. "Diancie, the Jewel Pokémon. It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands." He let Majin back out and got the Hoopa to create a portal there, which Shiranui and company jumped through.

Shiranui saw many Carbink and he scanned them. "Carbink, the Jewel Pokémon. Born from the temperatures and pressures deep underground, it fires beams from the stone in its head." One of the Carbink went over to Shiranui and introduced itself as Dace, translated by Majin.
"Dace is saying the Diamond Domain is in deep trouble from the Heart Diamond losing its power," Majin translated, "He wants to present you to Diancie."
"Alright then, Dace, lead the way," replied Shiranui.

Shiranui was led to the Heart Diamond where Diancie was desperately trying to create a new one. Diancie's servants—named Bort, Allotrope and Merrick—were shocked to see a human in their midst. "I bring to you the legendary child of the moon," stated Dace.
"Him?" asked Bort.
"How could a human possibly help our leader out?" Allotrope added.
"Because he has the very being we're looking for," answered Dace. Majin was translating the whole conversation for Shiranui. "Moon child, we need Xerneas' help," Dace stated, "The Tree of Life is the only one that can help our ruler make a new Heart Diamond."
"I'll be glad to help," Shiranui replied with a smile as he let Xeimei out.

Xeimei's Fairy Aura ability gave Diancie a boost in power. Diancie used the boost to create a diamond that was spherical in shape. "This isn't the Heart Diamond at all!" Diancie complained. Shiranui recognised Diancie's creation as a mega stone.
"Then perhaps another boost will help," he replied, activating his Mega Ring. Diancie was wrapped in an orb of energy and soon a Mega Diancie burst forth in all its radiance. "You can do it!" Shiranui encouraged. Diancie used the power it gained from Xeimei's ability and its own Mega Evolution to create a diamond that was as big as the previous one.
"Our Domain is saved!" cheered Dace before glowing and transforming into a second Diancie—a phenomenon similar to evolution, but not recorded as such.
"Moon child, thanks to you, I've created another Heart Diamond," said a very grateful Diancie, "I want to thank you by coming with you on your journey."
"I would be honoured to have you on my team," replied Shiranui, presenting a Dusk Ball.
"Dace, since you've now transformed to a Diancie like me, I'm abdicating my rule," Diancie decreed, "As of now, you're the new ruler of the Diamond Domain!" Bort, Merrick and Allotrope were happy for their old friend as Shiranui tapped Diancie with the Dusk Ball. The ball immediately snapped shut.
"Moon child, you will always be welcome here," stated Dace, "Good luck on your journey."
"And good luck on your reign, Dace," replied Shiranui as Majin conjured a portal to the Pokémon League. Both Shiranui and Majin stepped through the portal and Shiranui recalled Majin before looking around for Liam.

Liam was walking around the area the tournament was to be held with Sherlock. Sherlock sensed Shiranui's arrival and alerted Liam. Liam thanked Sherlock as they went to meet up with him. Liam saw Shiranui and called out to him waving as he approached.

Shiranui spotted Liam and went over to him. "Hey Liam, congratulations on winning the Dragon Cup," he greeted.

"Thanks." Liam said. "I guess that means I can't surprise you with those evolutions." Liam said. "How did your training go?"

"I caught two new friends and saw something truly marvelous," answered Shiranui.
