1. Kind of iffy there are three characters who are in the show that can use more then one ability. So probably might just have your characters use one. And two of them are gonna be playable and already taken by Chulance and reserved by someone else those two are Peter and Sylar.

2. Take whatever ability that you want, just make them so that they arent god modey. Only off limit I can think of would be regeneration which is the ability Claire has.
