Also, for the faction, it's simple, just chose the one that you like the more, but for obvious reasons you can have only a single allegiance. If you can't choose, I recommend being a student, since they still have time to learn about their view of the world.

[@Guilty Spark] By that allegiance, you mean that your character works under Asgard, right? This would make him a part of the Justice division, your boss will be coming out in a matter of minutes.

Now, obviously you can't do a 180 degree spin (fire mage becoming an mage, for example), but you can evolve to something that does your archetype without problems.

Also, as far as Unity goes, times can do anything other than said reality breaking effects (bring back the dead, time travel, etc). Becoming part of a shadow is no problem at all. Just remember that your tome has to have one main function and the rest is linked to it somehow.
