Alex hummed to himself as his eyes scanned the enormous crowd that had gathered here at the Citadel, on the Imperium's orders. It was a celebration, of course, a grand event to celebrate the salvation of the world from the Great Beast that had threatened it so long ago. Definitely something worth celebrating, since without it he wouldn't be here right now, would he? And he was all in favor of things that kept him existing. But while some would assume he was here to partake, they would be wrong. They might see a throng of people gathered here to celebrate, but he just saw a bunch of targets. Marks, people that were just ripe for a suitably skilled pickpocket. They were unsuspecting, clueless, and without a care. Doubtlessly he wasn't the only person who felt that way either, not in a place such as this, at a time such as this. That was why he refrained, why he didn't stoop to that level. It would be much too easy to do something like that, and he wasn't that kind of thief. No, his eye was on bigger game, the kind that could only be attained here at the Citadel. After all, who knew what sorts of riches there were in this place? Yeah, it would be dangerous, but he liked a challenge. It would just make it all the more fun when he succeeded. There was no doubt about that at all. So, clutching to his tome, he weaved his way through the crowd as he explored. For now it was reconnaissance, noting the doors, the positions of guards, the layout from the outside, the various Knights. He had to be prepared when an opportunity came, and he would not waste it. But otherwise he did his best to not draw attention, sampling the food, doing a bit of shopping, and the like. It was going to be fun when the time came, he was sure of it.
