The carnival was overflowing with laughter and energy. Little children danced before the bonfire, lovers wandered off to more secluded areas, and hundreds of strangers enjoyed themselves throughout the night. Fei wasn’t interested in any of them though, there was only one person she wanted to see tonight. A flicker of red hair caught Fei’s attention within the vast crowd and without a moment’s thought, she rushed off toward the figure. It had been months since their last encounter and they had so much to discuss. Not even the gates of hell could hold her back from this reunion. As much as being in such a crowd annoyed her, Zora stayed at the festival for all the flora that graced the town of Citadel alone. She kneeled on a small raised ledge that surrounded a circle of deep indigo flowers. They seemingly danced in the gentle breeze. The incessant sound of voices faded into the background. However, good things never last. As if shattering a window, a leather clad foot came crashing down onto the bed of Citadel native flowers. Instantly, Zora’s hand wrapped around the figure’s arm. “Excuse you!” Her voice raised above the rest. She rose up to stand on her feet and yanked the moving girl away from the soiled beauty. Fei looked down in complete disgust as some low life pulled at her arm. “How dare you!” She breathed, her eyes seething with rage. Who did this mere commoner think she was? By the time Fei glanced back toward the crowd, the redheaded woman was long gone. Fei couldn’t believe the audacity of such a stranger. There was only one thing she wanted to do, and this tattooed montage of a girl had stopped her. “I’ll have your head for this!” “I don’t know why you’re in such a rush, but you should pay more attention to where you’re walking. You absolutely crushed those Lirans over there!” Zora exclaimed in disbelief. One thing she’s noticed with many people her age is that they’re always rushing through everything. They never take the time to appreciate what they have until it’s gone. Fei couldn’t help but scoff at the girl. “A stupid flower? That’s your reason for so rudely snagging my arm? I missed an important meeting because of you!” Fei howled. “I apologize for pulling you so suddenly, but if you continue to vandalize the city’s property you’ll get in trouble,” Zora was finding it difficult to keep her cool under the fiery girl’s influence. “You should be sorry but frankly I don’t accept your apology. Not only is your tone unappreciated, your behavior is unforgivable. Now this is farewell for I can’t be seen chatting with miscreant children, such as yourself,” Fei flipped her flaming hair and strutted off into the infinite crowd of people.
