[@Prisk] That could very well be possible. But then let me ask, why not pop up and say something? That's my issue. If the GM is waiting for their players to start up, whether it's an IC post or posting their sheet, why not poke them? My whole thing involving this is the fact that the RPs just sit there in stunned silence with neither player nor GM saying anything. I've poked the RPs too sometimes and gotten no response. Real life may have affected them, as it does to anyone, but a simple post stating such isn't that much to ask. IF you have to stop a RP you have to, them's the breaks sometimes. Also I have never, not once, been part of a RP where the players had to get the game started, which is what I was trying to drive at (my apologies if I didn't voice that clearly). There's a big difference with people still making their sheets, story and lore getting finalized, and all that apart from getting the actual game started. Keeping the story afloat is different, then yeah, it's a two-way street. However, getting the ENTIRE thing started, I'm sorry, that falls on the GMs shoulders, and again, if something comes up and they can't make it to post for however long, that's fine. Not trying to argue or be mean either, because I do agree with what you said. Just getting my original point across as I don't think I worded it carefully. Edit: After reading through to make sure I wasn't missing something, it occurred to me I misinterpreted the original post I quoted. I took it to mean a GM took all the players in and then never started the game. Both situations annoy me, for sure, but yeah, I took it a different direction. My apologies.
