There was a distinct lull in the conversation, and Lavender saw Brynn looking at herself and the others. They all seemed at a loss for something to say. Just when Lavender thought things were going to get really awkward, the door to their compartment opened and a woman appeared in the opening. "Anything of the trolley, dears" She said, while pointing over her shoulder to a trolley filled with the most amazing candy and sweets. Lavender got up to take a look. She recognized some of the names from her trip to Diagon Alley and smiled in relief. "I'd like some chocolate frogs, please, and a few cauldron cakes. Oh and a licorice wand." Lavender also picked something to drink and, on a whim, a packet of something called Every Flavour Beans. She paid the witch, smiled at her and returned to her seat. She opened one of the cauldron cakes, gave April a piece and started nibbling the rest. Sitting there, nibbling her cauldron cake, Lavender suddenly felt out of place again. Being a full blood witch meant she didn't belong to the Muggle world. But having been raised by muggles, she didn't know whether she belonged to the Wizard world either. What if that was her future, never quite fitting in, always being too little this, or too much that... Always being torn between worlds. Being on her way to Hogwarts meant she was missing home, but at home she'd been looking forward to going to Hogwarts. Did the others feel the same way, was she simply anxious because she was living away from home for the first time? Or was she being torn apart by two different worlds? Could there be room in her life for both worlds? Could she simply decide that for herself? Lavender smiled as she remembered her parents' reaction to all this. They had been so okay with all of it, had they always known? Perhaps there had been room for both worlds all this time, without Lavender knowing about them. This realisation changed everything for Lavender. She suddenly realised she had the chance to design her own life, and decide exactly how much of each world she'd include to make herself the best version of Lavender James she could be. Smiling to herself, beaming with this revelation, Lavender suddenly realised she was still in muggle clothes. Her robes were in the bag she had placed in the luggage rack above her head. The instructions had been clear: put one set of robes in your hand luggage and put everything else in your trunk. Lavender waited for everyone to complete their transactions with the trolley witch before asking: "Is there like an announcement about changing and what time we'll be arriving, or what? When do we have to put our robes on?" [@Classpet] [@SouffleGirl123] [@Weird Tales]
