Can't I just go to bed instead?"[/i][/color] Name: Rust Bairne Age: 18 Gender: Male Race: Human Appearance: Standing at 6'1" and built quite athletically, Rust is just what one might expect of somebody raised to fight- That is to say, a bit of a heartthrob without realizing it. Generally a bit rugged in grooming, his hair is usually a mess, his beard is scruffy, and while clean, he looks like he just needs a hot shower, a nap, and somebody to iron the massive amount of wrinkles from his clothes. His eyes are the color of his name- a faint orange hue, with small flecks of darker orange- Like rust on iron in the light of dusk. He tends to dress casually, in jeans, combat boots, and a wrinkled button-up flannel hanging open over a T-shirt. He has his personal crest inked into his shoulder in the same color as his eyes. Weapon Name: Sear (Left) and Scorch (Right) Weapon Appearance/Function: Sear and Scorch are twin trench blades with some interesting features- Meant for punching, stabbing, and slashing all- Or even for slinging around on chains! Type: Flexible- Multi-use. Weapon Derivation: Trench Knives and Chain whips. Holstered/Sheathed Appearance: [img]http://www.cutlerywholesaler.com/images/products/detail/MC2001.jpg[/img] The knvies are twin blades- Identical. The three gems in each are foci crystals for his aura, and glow a dark orange. His personal crest, of course, replaced the flame pattern on the blade. The two are sheathed on each of his thighs in dark leather scabbards- He's never seen without them, no matter where he is. Form 1: The knives are both on chains, which are hidden in the knuckle-guards of the hilts. At a flick of his wrist, the blades can move on these chains to switch sides- Making for easy transitioning from forehand to backhand grips. Form 2: Those hidden chains are actually quite long- And on command, come free entirely from the hilts, turning the daggers into excessively deadly chain whips... With very sharp blades on the end, of course. Personality: Rust is, generally, a pretty chill person- He likes to sleep, he likes to snooze, he loves to doze- basically, he's just a walking ball of sleepiness. But, this isn't to say he isn't interested in things around him- If one can spark his interest enough to get him out of bed, he proves to actually be quite hyper and inquisitive. When it comes to fighting, however, a drastic change comes over him- Being a Hunter is, as he puts it, in the family blood. He treats fighting like an artist treats his masterpiece- Every step, every stroke of his knives has to be perfect, has to flow. Often times his fighting and dancing have been compared, rather rightfully so. Put simply- He loves to sleep. And he lives to fight. History: Rust's family line isn't particularly famous- But there hasn't been a male in the family tree yet that didn't wind up being a Hunter, and the majority of women in the family also went down the Huntress's path. Rust was, of course, no different. Even before attending Signal academy, he spent most of his time training with his father and two older brothers. He already had his weapons by the time he joined Signal, and graduated with outstanding marks to go on to Beacon. His family life is, despite the family business, quite normal- He goes home for the holidays, everybody either hates each other or loves each other... Pretty average family, really. Excepting, of course, for the occasional spar that takes place on the dinner table in place of eating. Strengths and Weaknesses: Against balanced and quick fighters, Rust has the upper hand- As far as grace and agility go, he has it in spades. But against opponents of raw, brute strength, he struggles a bit without help from the team, simply because they tend to out-tank him, and his game will begin to slip in extended fights, due to his rather average stamina levels. He also has a weakness for puppies and kittens- If it's fluffy and adorable, he simply has to stop and cuddle them.... No matter -where- he is. Even in the middle of a fight.... Well, unless he's taking it seriously enough. Semblance: Rust's semblance is, in a word, heat. This is not to be confused with fire- He can't create flame in the least. Rather, he simply creates pure heat waves, without the blaze. This keeps his body temperature abnormally high- At a point that would actually put most people in the hospital. If he applies focus to this ability, he can produce enough heat to turn rock molten, melt most metals, or give people third degree burns almost on contact. He has this, thankfully, well under control. He hasn't accidentally burned anybody since childhood. He is also able to channel this ability safely through the gems in Sear and Scorch, the blades enhanced with his own aura so that, despite reaching temperatures more than high enough, they will not melt when he heats them. When channeling his semblance, heat waves visibly radiate off of his body, warping the air around him like one might see over a grill in summer.
