Seji Onoda
Seji was considerably relieved when he saw Toko emerge from the dense forest to meet up with the group. It had only been an hour of working with these four other genin and he already cared more about them than the average friend. Not only did Toko arrive but it seemed he realized the solution to their problem of what the papers meant. "Humans cannot freeze time, but time can freeze us, the only way to melt away...with fire. There is a piece missing." A piece was missing? What did that mean? They were out of time and had no chance of finding another strip of paper. Did this mean that Toko was going to be sent back to the academy? Seji grimaced to himself, had he let down his teammate? Was there something more he could have done? It was their first real test as a group and they had failed somehow... Seji spun around when he heard someone drop from the tops of the tree-line. Fuyuko-sensei had arrived in a dramatic way to say the least. "I admit, you guys did well… for Genin, at least. You each have your own special and unique talent, and I'm absolutely positive that the Hokage himself was able to see that. However, now that our little test is coming to an end, I'm going to be tweaking the rules a little. Since Toko doesn't seem to have a piece of paper, he'll be stepping out of this final bit. The rest of you, however… I'm going to be leaving this decision in your own hands. Now, I'm fully aware of my own strengths and abilities… and, as of now, I'm stronger. Way stronger than all of you combined. Yes, you may have a chance of surpassing me in the future, but in the current state you little runts are in now, I highly doubt you'll be able to beat this woman right here." Seji stayed calm as Fuyuko changed the rules of the test. He had a feeling this was going to be the real test. Like everything that had happened until now was all a part of her plan. "The change in rules are relatively simple. There are two choices you can go for: either you attempt to fight me for the last minute and a half for the last piece of paper and for the sake of Toko here, or you stay put and let Toko be sent back to the Academy. Also, if you decide to fight me and fail to retrieve the fifth piece by the time limit, all of your are sent back to the Academy. And I mean it this time. Either you stay behind that kunai or you challenge me head on." Seji's eyes widened in shock, she couldn't be serious could she? There was no way that they could stop sensei but there was also no way he was going to just let Toko be sent back to the Academy because he didn't want to take a risk. As he predicted, Seichi immediately picked up the kunai and stepped forward. "I'm sorry guys. I choose to fight, sensei. Fight for Toko!" Seji felt appreciation fill his heart for Seichi, the bond of friendship was clear in his eyes. It was obvious that Seichi was willing to go back to the Academy with his friend is they failed and wasn't phased. Next thing he knew Asuka had stepped forward. Her too? "Forgive me, sensei…" Seji watched her take the risk with determination. "…but there's no way I can let a comrade of mine fall for the sake of any mission!" Seji grinned looked around at his team. "It looks like this is the honorable thing to do sensei. I'd rather go back to the Academy than say I let one of my teammates fail to help me succeed." The genin drew a kunai and jumped back a distance. He'd analyze the situation first before making a move. He had no knowledge of Fuyuko's fighting style and only had limited knowledge of his team's abilities. He couldn't just run in guns-a-blazin. When the time came he would make his move but not before carefully gathering information.
