Now given the fact that the rifts exist is it safe to say there is also an unstable form of magic capable of being performed? Obviously its a byproduct of being so close to the anomaly so it would only being performed by this group who is stationed so close to it. 
I'm talking about turning that twisting radiance into a beam of destructive power, or causing it to detonate in a small area after a buildup of its chaotic nature. 
Maybe even use it to turn a monsters energy against it OR act as a battery source for old world tech 'remade'
So many ideas! Ooooooh I'm interested!
