Haven ignored the small talk at the end of the table. She eyed the young girl picking at the fruit, noting the child's expression. It was as if she had never eaten fruit before. Of course the parents at the home didn't care who ate what. Neglectful parents were a constant in Haven's life and something she never saw changing.
