At the time of Clara's birth the village was at the tail end of poverty and hardship as significant illness had struck its residents, in turn preventing them from hunting and hence trading for essential supplies; the chain of events continued until the village was left entirely with the sick and lame. After a failed attempt at helping the village by a group of volunteers from Redcliffe Village, the volunteers pleaded their case to the local Chantry, who investigated the matter and concluded that little could be done in such a late stage. The Chantry sect decided to save who they could, and took all those who could survive the trek down the mountain or could be carried, such as infants; luckily enough, Clara was once such infant. Clara, orphaned after the passing of her village when she was no older than 7 months old, recalls her first memories within the walls of the Redcliffe Chantry. She never knew her family and frankly wasn't really bothered by it, partly because she never knew any better and partly because she was treated well by the religious brothers and sisters. Although she was considered to be put up for adoption, her hardy constitution and natural physical prowess deriving from generations of her family being from the mountains made her an ideal candidate for the Templar Order, and as such the chantry retained her as a Sister until she could be assessed at a more appropriate age. At 16 years of age, Clara was formally underwent an aptitude assessment for the Templar Order, and having had her life to prepare for it plus her natural perks, she passed with flying colors. She was inducted to the order and began training for her to commence her service at her coming of age. Over the next 9 years of her service, Clara grew to become an excellent warrior and promising leader, which lead to her promotion to Knight-Corporal on grounds of merit and later Knight-Lieutenant on grounds of merit and the outbreak of the war, where she was given command of a platoon to contribute to the war effort. Throughout her career Clara showed unflinching loyalty to the Order: this contributed significantly to her merit, for a Templar's obedience was more important than anything else; although all of her achievements concealed something sinister, a near-crippling addiction to lyrium which took her as far as regularly snorting lyrium sand on top of standard ingestion in order to avoid withdrawals. Clara experiences significant withdrawals when denied lyrium and if denied it entirely for long enough, there's quite a daunting chance of it leading to her death. As of current she acknowledges her addiction and expresses a desire to prevent it getting worse, but she has no intent to begin taking less lyrium. Recently, after a successful streak of leading her platoon in the war, Clara was reassigned as an ambassador for the Templar Order to the Grey Wardens. Command for the Templar Order recently and reluctantly concluded that such a means was necessary in order to preserve good relations with the wardens contribute to the good of the realm, on the grounds the ambassador would not flinch in their duties to rid the realm of the likes of apostates and abominations. Clara was nominated for the job by her Knight-Captain and later accepted, on the grounds of her outstanding service record, her unflinching loyalty to the Order, her suitable personality, and her severe lyrium addiction which would be used to manipulate her need be. When the news was broke to her platoon, the platoon contributed minor portions of their pay individually to collectively buy a dwarven-crafted officers longsword for their leaving platoon commander as a parting gift, which now acts as her sword of choice. Clara now journeys with the Grey Warden Nolan Halwic, who was the next best thing to a perfect partner: a Mage who respected the need to rid the world of abominations conducting peacekeeping operations in sensitive areas. The two get along well, going about peacekeeping - in war-affected areas in particular - with Clara acting as the primary liaison to the Templars and Nolan as the primary liaison to the Mages.

L
Lahe Hakorsi, as seen in [Avatar: The Faded History]
Name: Lahe Hakorsi. Nickname: No significant current nicknames. 'Lah-lah', an affectionate bastardization of the 'Lah' in 'Lahe', was a common nickname in her childhood but it faded out fairly quickly when her personality shifted, and now it's only really used by childhood friends and family as a memory of what once was. Age: 22 (Twenty-two). Gender: Female. Primary Element: Air. Secondary Element: Spiritual projection (training). Appearance: Lahe stands at approximately 5 feet and 7.5 inches with a light and clear complexion, a toned athletic build, and the telltale tattoos of a master airbender. Her dark brunette hair is kept short by feminine standards with a braid of considerable length coming from the left side, which is sparsely accented by the beads in the colors symbolic of the Air Nomads, yellow and red. Her eyes are a nondescript and semi-vibrant shade of hazel. She routinely wears a modest and practical variation of the Air Nomad robes. The robes are primarily yellow with sleeves which remain close to the contours of the body in the arms and leave some space at the legs and collar, with a red accent at the cuff of the right arm sleeve. She wears dark brown leather boots which rise to the bottom of the knee and a vest of matching material; the color of the leather is similar of the color of her hair, and generally compliment one another much like the robes and the beads in her braid compliment one another. To add the 'robe' features of the robe, and to accent the outfit, a shortened earthly red cloak is worn by the shoulders with some length coming from the waist. Likes: ※ Pragmatism, as her own adaptive perspective on the Air Nomad philosophy. ※ Vegetarian dishes, as she was raised to enjoy by the Air Nomads. Rice dishes, noodle dishes, and fruit pies are her favorites. ※ Tranquility, as she was taught to value by the Air Nomads and as she's come to personally value as result of her active lifestyle. ※ Freedom, as she was taught to value by the Air Nomads. ※ Meditation, as she was taught to value by the Air Nomads. Dislikes: ※ Loitering and inaction, which makes her antsy and impatient. ※ Excessive noise and activity such as thriving festivals, parties, and rowdy taverns, which makes her uncomfortable. ※ Tight spaces, being trapped and otherwise being unable to move, which makes her panic. She's quite claustrophobic and has a fear of being unable to move. It's not uncommon for her to pace, fidget, and otherwise move when she's on edge or uncomfortable. ※ Meat-based dishes, which she's not very used and raised against after an upbringing with the Air Nomads. ※ Revealing and flashy clothing. It's partly a pet peeve, partly a jealousy thing - considering she's not very 'well-endowed' herself and is quite sensitive about it. ※ Unnecessary violence, death, and chaos. Whilst she can understand the importance of them with her pragmatic take on the Air Nomad philosophy, it needs to be perceived by her as justified. Strengths: ※ Lahe is nearly always calm and collected, regardless of significant sources of stress and confusion - except for a few ticks and bar a few exceptions that make her lose her cool, such as being unable to move. Whilst she's not significantly intelligent as such, this perspective generally helps her decision-making and problem-solving; she's really good at board games mostly for this reason. ※ Lahe excels in unarmed and staff combat. On top of her talent and aptitude, she's personally tinkered with a preexisting style of air bending combat which revolves around primarily using bending augment your attacks with bending rather than as a means of attack in itself, which contributes to this further. ※ On top of natural contribution from her air bending, Lahe is quite nimble and agile. It's not a far-fetched for her to climb a sheer building or natural feature, or to very nearly dance around an unskilled opponent. Weaknesses: ※ Lahe isn't very charismatic, and generally doesn't do well in social settings and sensitive situations. This may be of particular note as it directly contrasts the nature of the air nomads, who are generally social and fun-loving. ※ Partly in contrast to her pragmatic nature, Lahe can be stubborn and a bit too forward at the best of times; once she's decided on something she often presses on regardless of progress being made until she's exhausted herself or convinced otherwise, has a habit of starting unnecessary conflict, and often doesn't know when to back down from a fight. ※ Revealing clothing - particularly of the female chest - and being unable to move make her panic and lose her cool very quickly, relative to the severity of how much is revealed or how little she's able to move. When she loses her cool she becomes quite rash and abandons a fair amount of her reason, and either needs to be left to run her course or needs to be calmed down. Personality: The fastest way to describe Lahe is a disciplined tsundere. At her core she's defiantly a tsundere, but her training and upbringing by the air nomads have largely suppressed this. At face value, Lahe is a disciplined Air Nomad with a skewed philosophy, making her similar to a more traditional monk as we would know one in the real world. She's generally quiet and reserved with a pragmatic and forward approach to life and it's problems. She values hard and consistent work and studies, peace and tranquility and practical solutions to what would violate that in accordance to the Air Nomad philosophy where possible, and meals. Of particular note, unlike the charismatic and fun-loving Air Nomads, Lahe isn't talented socially and is quite no-nonsense: this was a personality adaption as result of the burden of responsibility put on her in her teenage years, which ended up sticking. In moments where her discipline lapses for whatever reason, such as panicking or being overwhelmed, the 'tsundere' part of the header sentence comes to effect. She becomes rash, blunt, and even violent - in the 'I'll beat you up' sort of way, not the 'I'll kill you' sort of way. She actively resents this personality feature and hopes to find wisdom on the matter through her spiritual projection training. Background: Lahe Hakorsi was born as the only child of a moderate-sized family living in the Air Temple in the Earth Kingdom mountain ranges. Her mother and father both were masters within the temple; her mother contributed to agriculture whilst her father was more of a professor for young airbenders. Her father was quite passionate about the concept of family, both by blood and in the broader philosophical sense of the 'whole temple being one family', and it was his key motivating factor in many of his pursuits. Taking unaccredited inspiration from the Earth Kingdom, Lahe's father desired a boy that could be raised to become the head of the family and planned on the boy's existence so extensively that he had Lahe follow in the discipline of her mother alongside her airbending studies, as well as take up wifely duties around the house. Lahe's life was layed out for her as such, and all was understood, tranquil, and in order. When Lahe was a little bit older than 12 years old, local agriculture came onto hard times, which was considered a big deal as it not only supplies food but also currency for the temple, as well as minor trade with local villages and keeps in the Earth Kingdom. Lahe's mother had to put in extra work to try and improve the situation and Lahe, who was being raised to take over the discipline from her mother when she came of age, was expected to help to the extent she was able. She wasn't quite ready for this, having enjoyed fun, play and studies, but she did as she was told for the sake of tranquility and for the family. Approximately 2 and a half years later, with Lahe at approximately 14 and a half, the situation was stabilized but was starting to worsen once again. The Air Nomads had been hard at work for over 2 years trying to improve the situation and widespread fatigue was starting to set in. Lahe's mother, despite being so on edge and tired, still managed a smile - Lahe's father, however, was visibly stressed and encumbered by the situation. It was about this time that Lahe's mother was diagnosed as infertile and the news was broken to her father wouldn't be having the son. He was understandably struck by grief and stopped eating partly out of stress and partly out of desire to have less impact on the agricultural crisis; in turn he became quite ill and was incapable of leaving their home. Lahe, saddened by the state of her father and the doubled pressure on her mother, informally stepped up and took on a number of her father's former responsibilities within the household whilst still contributing to the agricultural crisis. As her father's condition only got worse, she got more and more driven to turn the situation around and do all that she could; on top of taking on more responsibility within the household and with the agricultural crisis, she also started taking her studies much more seriously, putting the fun and games of her childhood on hold in favor of problem-solving and practicality. Lahe's father, realizing his condition was getting worse and that he wasn't going to make it through the next winter even with the cold-regulating abilities of airbending, declared Lahe heir apparent to the position of head of the household and family, assured by her hard work, dedication, and how she took responsibility. When Lahe's father inevitably came to pass, Lahe was initially struck by grief and, for a while, rarely left her room and stopped eating herself, giving the nomads and her poor mother quite the scare. Instead of becoming ill and passing like her father, though, she took a lot of time to reflect and, in practice, deconstructed and reconstructed her personality based on practical values and the values of the Air Nomads for a personality that would be appropriate for the head of the household. When she finally emerged from her room and joined the temple once again, the happy-go-lucky 'Lah-lah' who wanted everyone to be happy was gone, and in her place was Ms. Lahe, head of the Hakorsi family. Now pragmatic and calculating, Lahe stormed through the rest of her studies, made great contributions to solving the agricultural crisis, and would eventually begin planning the new future of the family. You might recall I mentioned 'putting the fun and games of her childhood on pause' before? It never really went back to play. With her childhood never really seen to fruition, and her new personality more a reconstruction from discipline and power of will instead of natural development, what was once there - albiet warped and corrupted by stress and sense of urgency - remains in the form of her lapses in discipline. A year later, the agricultural crisis came to an end, and as crops began to grow healthily once again thinks started to go back to normal for the air temple. Lahe considered going back to as she was for a brief time but decided against it, as it felt uncomfortable to her and she had responsibilities as the named head of the household. Approximately 6 and a half years later, Lahe - now 22 - had been named a master, given her tattoos, and has began studying spiritual projection within the past year and a half. Seeking to gather wisdom from the world on spiritual projection as suggested by her tutor: one of the Elders of the temple, plus hoping to conquer the childish side of her personality that remains, she sets out on a pilgrimage from the air temple. His hair is a very dark drown which is kept mainatined on the back and sides with a swept top and fringe and accented by a stubble - which serves a double to hide his chin, which he's not happy with the shape of. Both his ear lobes are pierced and stretched to a considerable but not extreme extent and he has a collection of tattoos: including a right arm sleeve, a more minimal left-arm sleeve, and a tattoo across the upper back connecting the two; he plans on adding to his collection in the future, if he can source the money. The staple-mark of his wardrobe is his glasses: He wears a pair of black, borderline hipster-esque prescription glasses, being significantly short-sighted; the glasses 'complete' his face, and he normally seems a little odd without them. As far as clothing goes, he rotates between themed crew-necks, button-up tops which are normally worn with the sleeves rolled up and the top button open, jeans, slim-fitting tan slacks, brown lace-up quarter brogue cap toe shoes, and black converse canvas shoes.
Personality:
The shortest way to describe Levi would be "reasonably chilled" - he's all about staying calm and happy, taking it easy, and living day-by-day, but not using it as an excuse to get up to no good; he'll often get up needlessly early if he needs to be somewhere in the morning so that he can get himself ready at a slow and steady pace without having to rush. He prefers to get up and work hard to get any work out the way so it's off his plate and he can relax again. He's fairly patient and, reflecting his "chill" nature, doesn't pay mind to a lot of things - only a few things really gets to him. Even in stressful situations and the heat of the moment he's slow to stress, but when he finally boils over he becomes very highly strung and takes a long time to calm down again, even to the length of days or even weeks after it's all over. His primary interests include music, skating, tattoos, and socializing. He's something of a social butterfly and prefers to spend his spare time in the company of others, preferably in pursuit of interests such as music, skating, and picturesque activities such as swimming at a pretty local river or camping at the top of a hill with a view. He's pretty socially versatile and is open to making friends with a broad array of personality types and tropes; even then, the few who annoy him he has the patience to tolerate in smaller doses. Ironically enough, for someone who prefers to spend his time in the company of others, he's not too fond of parties; by all means, he enjoys a party every now and them, but they're normally a bit too fast-paced for his chilled nature, and his sense of reason often conspires against participation in a lot of party festivities. When intimacy is involved, his personality changes to some extent. He's unfamiliar with intimacy and doesn't really have his bearings about him when it's involved; he becomes a lot more impulsive, highly strung, and caring in moments of intimacy, but otherwise tries to stay as chill as possible.
Roommate-ness:
Much as would be expected based off his personality, Levi is arguably a good roommate; he's easygoing and low-profile, often sleeping in, spending a fair amount of his time off outside with friends or just skating, and just going about his own thing; he enjoys spending time with his roommates indoors on the couch or in the spa, but prefers hanging out outdoors - unless it's jamming, in which case he's happy to sit in the garage studio all day. In his pursuit of aesthetics he's a bit of a neat freak, and whilst he has a habit of cleaning up after himself he also has a habit of cleaning up after everybody else, whether they like it or not; a sewing project might end up moving from a lounge chair to the coffee table, or a pair of shoes taken off on the dining room might end up moving to just by the front door. He also has a habit of doing th dishes or laundry on impulse if it's untidy enough, which can be both a blessing and a curse. Levi considers his own room to be something of a personal retreat for moments of stress, spending time alone or in privacy however rare it may be, and otherwise doing his own thing and as such, his room is often given the care of a shrine and is kept in nigh-immaculate condition. If the door is closed the unwritten message is 'don't come in', whether he's in there or not; coming in when the door is closed without knocking or otherwise calling forward in advance is a fast way to annoy him, whether he hides it or not. It also drives him up the wall when people mess up his room. If someone where to both intrude and mess up his room, even the easy-going Levi would get upset.
Public records / Bio:
Levi always has been fairly active on social media but was chilled as he is in all things, so there's a fair amount of information hidden away. It wouldn't be hard to find out that he was born on the US West Coast near Bainbridge Island, Washington State. He attended local public education through to earlier on in middle school, where he moved to the location of setting and finished his education. There'd be a lot of photos with him and his guitar set from late elementary school through to present day as he continued to develop his passion. Towards the end of his time in middle school, he put together his first band that ran through until half way through high school, with some gigs here and there around the local community. The band eventually fell apart when a few of the moments got swamped in their school work and efforts to replace them were unsuccessful. Until the formation of a new band he's made himself available as a session musician, for which he has a personal website and YouTube channel showcasing some of his works for potential clients. It's public information on his website that he plays guitar as music is his passion, and for that same reason he pursues membership in another band. His website also shows that he's familiar with a wide array of styles and genres and is fairly versatile in that regard. Personality: In terms of the alignment chart, Yuuna would best fit into Chaotic Good. Whilst she rigorously follows the Yakuza code of honor 'ninkyo' - which places justice and duty above all and forbids allowing others to suffer - the means through which she meets the criteria of this code may quite easily be considered cruel, dishonorable or unjust in itself. Manipulation, extortion, deceit, blackmail and even murder are a few of the common tools of her trade, and she's ruthless in achieving her goals. She specifically doesn't approve of torture in accordance with ninkyo and prefers to manipulate and deceive victims that would be in order to find out what she wants to know. She's also known to be almost always calm and in control, with a cool yet oppressive air about her. Outside of her 'professional' life - which is as much time as she can reasonably make time for provided she has something to do, such as going out for dinner - she's known to the few privileged (or perhaps burdened?) enough to see her as a relaxed woman with a somewhat dark sense of humor who cares about her friends in her own way. Whilst she's not experienced with comforting friends and family as she acts in her on-the-job mindset most of the time, she tries when it comes down to it. It also might be of note that she's a devour follower of Shinto and takes her religion very seriously. She was the first child of her parents and for a time was the heir to the office of oyabun before nearly 2 years after her own birth a brother was born who in turn became the heir apparent. At the time she wasn't old enough to understand what this meant, let alone how to speak a sentence or perform basic math. When she was informed on the situation as a pre-teen she didn't mind at all - she was a compassionate child and she loved her brother so; it was about this time her father began gradually teaching her how things worked in the Yakuza and what would be expected of her. By the time she was a teenager this education was in full swing. Throughout her elementary years Yuuna was homeschooled by her mother and grandparents but as she became a teenager, the daughter of the head of an influential yakuza clan, Yuuna attended the most prestigious and successful school in the prefecture: none other than Yamaku Academy. As she grew into her teenager years she became more ruthless and less compassionate, gradually shaping into what she is today; regardless of this she treated most of her teachers, seniors and peers with the utmost respect; there are those who targeted her but they played an important role of shaping her skills in intrigue. As result of her nature, her family name and the expectations set on her, she excelled in all things in her adolescence: she consistently achieved high grades, volunteered at the local shrine and above all, lead the school district in sports. Through her success in high school she was selected for the Japanese National team for the Asian Games, where she then graduated school and became a full time athlete. Regretfully, her brother became something of a gluten and a sloth once he came of age. When her father grew too elderly to command the clan and abdicated the position to her younger brother, despite the desperate advice of his council, the clan failed to prosper. Yuuna saw it as her duty as the former heir to see the clan prospering once again but challenging the new head of the clan would be nothing short of blasphemy; in turn, instead of directly opposing her brother she gathered the lieutenants loyal to her and had her brothers girlfriend kidnapped, murdered and set it up to look like her brother did it. She then proceeded to blackmail him, threatening to forward the conclusive evidence to the police as an anonymous tip from a known vigilante group if he didn't do as she told him. Struck by grief that his girlfriend was dead, afraid of her influence after such an act and terrified of being arrested, he reluctantly bent the knee. The killer was never found, witnesses never turned up and Yuuna established de facto leadership of the clan. Very few know about it - those few being limited to those who were loyal to her during the coup and the Public Security Intelligence Agency of Japan. Unfortunately, one of her loyal foot-soldiers was an informant. The Public Security Intelligence Agency made a point of investigating Yuuna, seeing a chance to both close the cold case and dismantle one of the Yakuza families at the same time. They were deliberately very careful: she was a woman of caliber - educated, athlete and spymaster alike - and would have to be cautious to avoid the operation being compromised. It would just so happen that Argus would then come about which had the investigation spin on its head. Yuuna was shortlisted as a Japanese candidate for Argus and eventually came to be interviewed, tested and later offered the job. After due consideration, seeing it as the ultimate use of her skills and fulfillment of ninkyo, she accepted; but not after leaving her brother very detailed instructions and leaving some to watch him. Strengths: Uaziezuhr is an elite spymaster in many respects, with a developed passion and skill in the ways of intrigue. The existence of his cult alone is but an old legend to most, and even then, the existence of a dark patriarch is only a rumor held in disdain all but his four Dark Cardinals: his mysterious hands and will. Through the means of the watchful eyes of his cultists, the talented shadowsingers: the spies and assassins of the cult, and the daemonic dopplegangers summoned by the former, little information evades his elusive grasp; even the likes of nations may come to bend to his will, with his shadowsingers tactfully disposing of councillors and heads of state and replacing them with dopplegangers if he would will it. Uaziezuhr is incredibly intelligent, having spent well over a human's lifetime as a scholar and de facto political leader. It's not uncommon for him to spend his time away from his eternally rotting throne reading varied tomes and books, or furthering his understanding of magic theory and the dark arts; admittedly, there's little else to do when you're a living myth. As both a mage and a leader, this makes him an adversary not to be underestimated: whilst he normally acts in mysterious and deceitful ways, his battle plans of old during the first reign of the overlord were truly devastating. Uaziezuhr is one of the most, if not the most potently powerful mage the realm has to offer. For the span of generations, he has been a studying the likes of magic theory and the dark arts, all the while being thoroughly augmented by the will and power of the overlord and daemonic rituals alike. His power extends to the point that not even the mortal plane may contain him: he may walk between hell and the material world through the means of dimensional rifts - effectively functioning as both personal portals and a means to open a gate for masses of daemons to flow and pillage, if he were to ever favor a less methodical method of open warfare. Uaziezuhr is blessed by the likes of daemons - so much so that he was offered ascension to daemon prince, which he declined as to not potentially displease the Overlord on grounds of possible defection. He often flirts with the beings of hell, and is considered a lord by lesser daemons, a leader by greater daemons, and a peer by daemon princes. As such, he is capable of summoning a wide array of daemons and summoning to his will, and is granted permission to pass unholy rites to select follower so that they may do the same. Additionally, his magical power is multiplied through daemonic means, and his phyiscal form is altered to be strictly functionally speaking, much superior; his build is unnaturally large and he is clad in grand daemonic armor which is merged with his flesh and muscle bar the helmet, which may as well be if it didn't strike him of a number of his senses at this point. Flaws: Whilst Uaziezuhr is functionally augmented by the gifts of daemons, he is disfigured and mutilated beyond humanity in practice. His skin is pale and in a permanent state of part rot, he is incapable of growing a hair on his body, his eyes glow a bright and imposing red, his form is unnaturally shaped and figured, and his face permanently bears various hideous scars and other injuries. In his form, he may never walk among his former peers again, and his presence alone would rally Inquisitors and Exorcists of all degrees and origins against him. As Uaziezuhr's cult revolves around the employ of mages and daemons, anti-mages and exorcists make a naturally effective counter to his will. To be worth more than a meat shield to the cult an initiate requires magic affluence, and the rank-and-file in warfare is filled with demons, a mass mobilization by an Inquisition could easily raze the cult, if not take it out at the roots - himself and his Dark Cardinal's - under the command of a talented Grand Inquisitor. Uaziezuhr flirts with both the likes of daemons and the overlord, creating a potential conflict of interests for a particular superior. He's welcomed among the court of daemon princes in the planes of hell below, and acts as the forward commander for the interests of hell's lords - all of this on top to his apparently superior commitments to the Overlord, which is easy to draw into question with his known skill in the ways of intrigue. Opinions: "My thoughts on the other Lieutenants? Oh-hoh-hoh, you are brave, aren't you? Very well then, I see no harm in it - I would expect my Cardinal's to be on the same level of understanding as me in order to interpret my will. "Let's begin with... Bastian Wenderuthweiler, the claimant 'Emperor and King of Kings'; such a credit his title pays when he is exiled from his own government: he could not even manage something as petty as a rebellion, let alone had himself stoop down to the level of having to deal with it himself. Even after all that, he allowed himself the humility of living to be chained like a degenerate plebeian. He lacked even a contingency plan - if it weren't for his skills as a swordsman and his uncanny mind control abilities, he wouldn't even be worth the scheme to make him a pawn. But to his credit, he did manage to cheat the dark gods themselves, he is of noble blood - rare enough among the Lieutenants, there has been much time for revision and hindsight in the absence of our Overlord, and his mind control abilities are nothing to be underestimated. I shouldn't be rash, and should reevaluate his value when I meet him again; mass mind control could be useful into gathering sacrifices and subjects for daemonic possession... "Next... Ah, ugh... The Orc Warchief, Ukdur Hellhammer. Ukdur and I have had our.. differences in the past: he arrogantly lacks appreciation for the finer things in life, such as court and worship. He seems... naturally predisposed against the dark arts and the likes of daemons, which is a shame as his might and the might of the united orc clans is nothing to be underestimated; if only he would come to bend the knee and accept the power of the dark gods, I could bestow such unimaginable power upon him and his clansmen. A ground force of daemonically augmented orcs would have no equal, and under the command of the likes of my dark scholars - the very plane would bend to my will within the year, and he would have his rewards. I should scheme carefully. "I'm missing someone.. oh dear, how could I ever forget? The pleasant Serikul, the appropriately titled 'Spider Queen'. What a pleasure it is: she's simply wonderful to work with, bends nature itself to her will, and understands the necessities and pleasures of transhumanism, and command over direct combat; like me, she's abandoned her defective body of old and has been reborn superior. She's one of very few worthy of the title of consideration by our overlord. I need not scheme with her - she's a peer and equal, and deserves fair negotiation and trade. With a bit of cooperation, and perhaps a bit of 'dark influence', I can't help but wonder if her brood would make unmatched cavalry... "Unfortunately, the dragonkin Skrall still lives. By the will of the dark gods he should be dead and his grave rotted and forgotten, but so he lives, with his company of Deathguard at his back. I had briefly considered working with the dragonkin - the dark gods willed the dragonkin's death eons before the rise of our Overlord, and his specialist infantry company would make a fine set piece for the board - but he is ultimately unwilling, and his attitude is nigh unbearable. If it weren't for the blessings of his patron god, I would simply have him assassinated and install a doppleganger in his place, but in the name of our Overlord I shall tolerate him for now. I should scheme carefully so that I may, perhaps, bring his company into the fold. In the case he is as stubborn as he is ancient, then there is an alternative to death available..." Backstory: Uaziezuhr, born Levi of the lesser noble house 'Arcenia' of a nondescript dime-a-dozen kingdom, was raised as a mage in a family in which magic had died out 3 generations ago. The family has subject to a bloodline revival effort, where they were provided a female mage by their liege to bear children with; Levi was the only child born of this experiment, and became the hopes and dreams of the house as result. He was expected to grow up to become a court mage for their liege, from which position he could elevate their houses influence and make them a great house once again; as such, he had a rigorous regime of magic studies and the elusive ways of intrigue from a young age. Regardless of how much he tried, he was.. never very good, simply because the magic in the family was barely revived and not given the time to flourish once again, given some genetics and accepting strictly mages as wives for a few generations. Despite Levi's valiant and relentless efforts, he simply wasn't genetically capable of reaching the standards of a court wizard. He failed in his trials a total of 4 times, where his liege told him that it wasn't worth pursuing. He was borderline excommunicated by his family for his failure, who - by standards of their arrogance - had no choice but to place all faith in his success. This gave him endless determination: determination that would turn him cold and cunning by nature, and drive him stubbornly on even when encountered with total failure. Needless to say it was doomed to fail, but luckily enough, he was offered an alternative: at the mere cost of his soul, he could become one of the greatest mages of his land, and he could make his family not just a great house, but place them on the very throne at the top of the kingdom. Whilst he was reluctant, well educated against the likes of such deals and bargains, his determination left him no choice but accept. When the court wizard refused to trial him to become his apprentice once again, Levi invoked the right to a duel. The rules were simple: only one spell was permitted, a spell that harmlessly knocked back an opponent, and the first mage to be knocked outside of a large circle lost. Levi, with the dark power of the overlord augmenting him, easily won the duel, much to his lieges surprise. He was controversially accepted as the new Court Acolyte, where he furthered his studies much further and began enacting the will of both his house and the overlord. After the passing of 2 years, in a bid to get more power for the Overlord's upcoming crusade on the world, his master encountered a 'terribly unfortunate accident' and was killed in an abandoned iron ore mine, where he was then named Court Wizard granted the skills to do so. Enacting the will of his helpless family, having the ability to serve his overlord: the power was blinding for Levi, and he needed more. He began to experiment with the dark arts in secret, starting with the crude blood magic and eventually proceeding to the likes of forbidden ritual magic that allowed interactions with hell and it's residents. Although he was unable to sell his soul to the daemons, this was something of a blessing: some lesser daemons saw him as a much of a monstrosity as they were, and offered to lend him their power in exchange for a suitable sacrifice. His family would fit the bill. His family... oh, the disgusting leeching rats: not even the head of the house had to rely on his son for his status as a noble simply being maintained. They were only holding him back, after all - so conducting a lesser ritual to summon a pact of willing lesser daemons into his family manor so that they may drag them into the planes of hell and torment them for a time to come so that they progress their own careers wouldn't be a problem. As his power grew, both daemons of hell and the overlord used Levi to more gain. The daemons would come to taste the blood of a King, the overlord gained a Kingdom a doppleganger loyal to his subject installed in a prior King's place, and with the Orc clans united plus another Kingdom brought into the overlord's fold, the realm would begin to fall to the overlord's will. Kingdom's and eventually Empire's would eventually fall, either overwhelmed by daemons and possessed warriors who thirst for blood or their leaders replaced with dopplegangers and their resources added to Levi's powerbase. Greater Daemon's and eventually Daemon Prince's would share their unholy power and secrets through bargains, trades and agreements, and the Overlord would reward his success; so much power, that he became endlessly disfigured to the point he forgot even his name and family, where his affectionate daemonic nickname "Uaziezuhr" - translating approximately to "Lord Summoner" - would act in its stead. In the end, Uaziezuhr became one of the reliable contributing Lieutenant's to the Overlord's cause, aiding to secure his iron rule over the realm for a time. Uaziezuhr's a smart man(?) - what if the Overlord's reign were to be dismantled by a set of veteran warriors as if it were child's play, or his own powerbase was taken out from under him? Tactfully, he started a cult in the case something disastrous were to pass: the Dddhacact Assembly. He would name himself Dark Patriarch of the Dddhacact Assembly, and after bringing 4 Dark Cardinal's into the fold - talented mages that would become his future will and voice within the order - he would simply vanish, to all but the likes of daemons, the overlord, and his fellow black lieutenants. Uaziezuhr and his Cardinal's established a rigid chain of command consisting entirely of mages through which the cult would be ruled: - Under the Dark Cardinals is the Dark Prelate, who acts a the 'figurehead' of the cult to the rest of its members. With this, even the existence of the Cardinals would be doubted, let alone the Patriarch. - Under the Dark Prelate are the Dark Exarchs, generals and leaders of the cult. Generally, they managed operations in great areas of territory such as nations and acted as generals for armies. - Under the Dark Exarchs are the Dark Archbishops, who acted as regiment commanders and governors. - Under the Dark Archbishops are the Dark Archpriests, who acted as company commanders and local cult leaders. Initially, Dark Archbishops acted alone through the ways of intrigue and summoning; they raise and lead companies of demons in battle, and use them to carry out their will. Later, due to the need of more influence and unit diversity, non-mages were entitled to 'enlist' into the cult - even if they were used as little more than pawns and meat shields. - Dark Bishop's are the non-commissioned officers of the cult, and is the highest a non-mage cultist can be. They ensure the enslited cultists are being managed and are doing their jobs, and are held accountable for their men's failures. - Dark Priest's are simply initiated members of the cult, and generally blend in to society to gather information and silence any who would oppose the rule of the Overlord or become aware of the cult, and run other miscellaneous tasks such as extortion, rackets, worship, gathering sacrifices, and dying en masse as meat shields. - Dark Acolyte's are uninitiated recruits, who have yet to pass their trials. Alas, long after the rule of the overlord was cemented an enforced, Uaziezuhr was the third black lieutenant to fall. A band of pubescent heroes would liberate his governed territory, learn of his contingency when enacted, and then smite the Dark Prelate to rid of the cult from the face of the realm. As far as the world was concerned, the cult was dead and Uaziezuhr had long since had his sins and blasphemous acts catch up to him. Uaziezuhr and his Cardinals retreated to the dense and unwelcoming swamps of the east; their discretion regarding their existence had paid off, and in turn, they could begin to rebuild the cult from the ground up in preparation for the overlord's return.
