Wave
Wave had stood in almost the exact center of the crowd, less out of planning and more because they others who want to get the back had simply piled onto those who had once made up the rear of the crowd. He had arrived early simply because he felt that arriving late would mean he would be beat to the good pokemon. The lab apparently had a huge amount of pokemon if they were giving them to this many trainers at once. Then again, Wave had always seen Professor Sycamore as a bit weird but was willing to try and find some time to have a conversation with him for it would, without a doubt, be an interesting conversation. But, Wave’s focus was now on getting out of this damn crowd before he was killed by the heat and smell being given off by such close bodies whose singular intent was to get into the dome and get their pokemon of choice. Before the young Professor, Yew was her name, had finished her speech, Wave turned and walked back out of the crowd. On his way out, Wave couldn’t help but notice a short girl dressed in all pink. An odd attire for a trainer and it would certainly get some dust and dirt in it but Wave wasn’t one speak. He was wearing the most casual clothing he had packed and basically had only three other sets which were quite similar to each other. With the ending of the speech, the many trainers who had gathered started rushing forward and clearing out a lot of open space. Wave just casually waited behind everybody as they rushed forward and walked in after most of them had gotten through the door. The domed enclosure was quite spacious and most likely held as many types of pokemon as there were people inside. Wave’s attention was drawn, albeit slowly, to a group of people crowding around a tree. Most of them were females and, from what Wave could catch, were remarking on the cuteness of a pokemon which Wave couldn’t see. He waited a few more moments before the majority of them left, some grumbling that it wouldn’t come down from the branches for them, until he walked over and identified the pokemon as a slakoth. The little slakoth was obviously resting in the tree’s higher branches but would occasionally open its eyes. At the sound of the approaching human, the slakoth opened its eyes and stared down at Wave as if assessing him. ”So, you didn’t like any of the girls ey? Not surprising, they seemed more keen on harassing you. No, slakoths like you just want to sleep most of the time and don’t care much for anything else.” Wave said to the Slakoth whose response was a yawn. The young trainer climbed the tree and sat on a branch just a foot or so lower than the slakoth. He rubbed the top of the slakoth’s head and it closed its eyes until he stopped. ”How about you come with me eh? It’ll be fun and you’ll get all the food and head rubs as you want. If your answer is yes, then hop off that branch and hang onto my back. You don’t belong in a pokeball.” Wave said to the slakoth who did not move even an inch for several minutes. In a single, fluid movement, the slakoth dropped off the branch and landed on Wave’s waiting back. He hopped off the tree and landed without any real difficulty and rubbed the head of the slakoth which now sat on his left hand shoulder. He walked out of the dome and grabbed a Pokedex, Holocasters, and five pokeballs. ”Now what do we my Girl?”
