I too did notice this, but I decided I liked my name enough to keep it. Perhaps there could be a workable connection between the two characters. I think either we have Aldaric actually be Katarina's sire, or maybe they share a sire. 

I *could* also possibly make Aldaric a pureblood. Perhaps he was into slaughtering other vampires by the time he made Katarina, then banished her for biting him?
