At her current power state, however, Ryūjin is just barely larger than a full grown garter snake, and as about as thick as a young child's forearm. Though she is able to fly/swim freely in this form, she prefers clinging to the arms and necks of allies. She may often tell tales of her being a much larger, much more imposing beast back in the day, but whether it is true or not is yet to be discovered. While Ryūjin is weaponless in this form, her talons are sharper then any mortal blade, though she may hesitate to approach a battle due to her current size. [/indent]

[indent]Umiko possesses a tall, lovely vessel. Standing at about 5'8" and weighing just over one hundred and forty pounds, Umiko sports what most would call a "swimmer's body". She takes pride in her appearance, often using up most of her mornings to ensure she looks decent before heading out into the town, and due to these long hours in front of the mirror Umiko is after called 'vain' by her younger sister.

Umiko is very pretty, even without whatever makeup she decides to put on, bearing a sharp, pretty face and straight black hair. Her eyes gleam darkly, and her face is usually made up with makeup to enhance her big eyes and large lips. Despite possessing a mortal vessel, Umiko's teeth are a bit odd, appearing more canine then human at times. Her skin is pale and coarse, though when out in the sun she tans very easily, and her hands are long and graceful. She walks with the presence of a king, with her head held high and her eyes narrowed slightly.[/indent]

[indent]Regal, dainty, and overall wise, Umiko exudes a sense of royalty. She walks with the grace of a queen, no, a KING, and is often times seen speaking in a very formal manner. Though she has retained a mortal bodies for many years now, it seems Umiko is yet to grow out of her kingly ways, and as such she continues to appear rather unnatural in casual situation. She is wise in both a historical sense and common way, often giving off helpful tips to those in need. Ultimately calm and serene, even in the most stressful situations, Umiko is often told that her gentle expression comes off as a bit cold at times, which may be true. She does not understand the concept of pain very well, and sadness seems like a lost notion to her, so when in the vicinity of crying or panicking people she is unsure of what to do.

Despite her distant ways, Umiko manages to appear very friendly, if not a bit sharp tongued, when around friends or acquaintances. She possesses a quick mind and is always prepared to point out something unusual if presented. When it comes to her closer friends she is very protective, often acting out in order to defend anyone in trouble even if it could cost her life. She loves those who love her, and will cherish anyone willing to be her friend. 

In certain situations, however, Umiko loses her kind, polite ways and becomes a lot more stubborn. If forced into an unnecessary situation or uncomfortable place, she is more likely to drop to her knees and stay that way until she is given freedom or what she wants. Umiko is pushy, extremely so, and maybe even a bit spoiled, but she tries her best to act as fair as she can, even if there is something she desires nearby.[/indent]

Rather than ignoring the child and moving on, Umiko took it upon herself to raise the human child and protect her. The two share an inseparable bond, and Nagisa acts as Umiko's strength and weakness in many situations. Nagisa is in possession of the Manju (tide-flowing) Tide Jewel.

[indent]Ryūjin is best known as the God of the sea and King of Dragons, a being who was praised for his power and wisdom above all else. Living under the sea in a palace named Ryūgū-jō, Ryūjin ruled as a wise and noble leader. His messengers were the sea turtles, and all of the sea creatures were his children and followers. His mythologies played out, some depicting him as a cruel king, and others revering in his God-like wisdom and nobility. 

During the Waring times between the Gods, Ryūjin remained in his palace, wishing to merely wait out the catastrophe happening over head, but once the seas surrounding Japan were affected he rose and sought out a way to defend his home and followers. Eventually the end of the world subsided, and all of the Gods gathered to sign a pact, a pact that would force the Gods to weaken in order to save the world they had once loved. Ryūjin was hesitant, though in the end, after listening to many of the gods complain, he signed and resigned himself to living as a mortal.

Ryūjin's mortal form appeared more female than male by choice, and those who refereed to him as King quickly began speaking to her as she preferred, with female pronouns. She lived as a woman named Umiko during the Sengoku era, a miko who worked for a shrine devoted to the God she once was. Time passes, and Ryūjin keeps her alias and travels across Japan, acting as a nurse or miko or teacher during various ears. She has only recently settled down in the seaside town of Tomonoura, where she lives in a cheap apartment with her kid 'sister' Nagisa and a few pet fish.[/indent]

Umiko, despite feeling as though she is above them, cherishes humans. They used to worship her symbols, and even now they are as foolish and silly as they were in the past. Nagisa may be her favorite human, but that does not mean she has a vendetta against any of those outside of her immediate family. Sometimes they annoy her, especially with their pollution and gossip-y ways, but in the end Umiko appreciates their presence on the earth.[/indent]

[indent]Much like any good water deity, Umiko is a skilled swimmer and avid beach-goer. She is able to hold her breath underwater for up to six minutes, and she has strong enough legs to kick through even the toughest of tides. Of course, thanks to all this swimming she is blessed with a strong body. Rather then swimming, Umiko is also a skilled dancer and musician. She is able to play the flute and more obscure wind instruments like the Horagai (sea-shell horn). 

When it comes to caring for young children and animals, Umiko can be considered a pro. She is a decent chef and is patient enough to deal with younger children. She is wise, and thanks to her love for reading very knowledgeable on both the past and present. Umiko is also somewhat multilingual, she can speak both Chinese and Korean easily, and she is adept in English enough to hold a simple conversation.

Other than that, Umiko is very organized and orderly, and often keeps to-do lists in order to remember her daily routine.[/indent]

[indent]As a lesser sea deity, Umiko wasn't truly that powerful to begin with. In her weakened state she is only able to barely hear the whispers of sea creatures, and she is also able to read weather patterns to predict if rain or sun is coming the next day. Eventually, she will regain her abilities to fully converse with beings in the sea and summon rain storms with the snap of a finger.

Despite Ryūjin now much meager appearance, he still holds onto a [url=http://img03.deviantart.net/8ad2/i/2005/187/d/6/blue_sphere_by_viliggoly.jpg]Tide Jewel[/url], the very gem that is said to control the tides of the sea and keep them from going out of control. Though she has since lost complete control over the jewel, once her powers begin to return her emotions will once again influence the gem's properties. If she is plunged into rage, all nearby bodies of water will churn with unhappiness, so Ryūjin does her best to stay calm when in the vicinity of the artifact. The second Tide Jewel is in the possession of Nagisa for safe keeping. As her strength returns, Ryūjin will soon be able to have minor control over smaller bodies of water, and this control allows her to create mist, small water whips, and other general distractions/weapons.

While she is able to hold her breath for a longer period of time than most mortals before her powers started returning, as they come back she will soon be able to remain underwater without having to come up for a breath. It is a minor skill, but for someone who thrives in the sea, a useful one.

Aphordite enjoys looking at herself, making herself up, and even if she attempts to claim that she isn't vain most know the truth of her apparent narcissism. But, then again, why shouldn't she love herself?

Aphordite appears more doll-like than human, possessing a lovely, small face, large eyes and full lips. Her hair is light-brown and naturally curly, often surrounding her face in an array of kinks and curls, and her skin is dark and tans darker. Though her face is usually stained with makeup, below the concealer are an array of dark freckles that splay over her nose and cheeks. She possesses a slender body, one that moves as if it were always walking on air, and Aphrodite takes pride in keeping herself as fit and healthy as possible.

As for tattoos, Aphordite as an array of tally marks on the inside of her upper arms. When asked about them, she will simply say, "Oh, those are all the mortal hearts I've broken!". There are a lot of small, tally marks, as I'm sure you can imagine. [/indent]

The kind Ellen is merely a front, and the true Aphrodite reigns like a horrid serpent beneath her smiling demeanor. In reality, Ellen Dove is a spiteful, egotistical girl with a thirst for attention. She lives day to day wondering what she should change about herself to attract more lovers, and she is not afraid to steal the hearts of those already in love with a simple bat of the eyelash and sensual smile.

Ellen, to those who really know her, is a bratty woman. She is selfish as well as unfaithful, and relies on others watching her to feel powerful. Thanks to her narcissism, she spends most of her free time staring in mirrors or fixing her appearance, and she is not afraid to insult those she deems unworthy or annoying. Cunning, Ellen is a skilled liar and actress, and she is gifted in making devious plots to get what she wants. When it comes to her closer friends and family, however, Ellen acts slightly more... Motherly? Her regular, devious personality remains, but she uses her cunning to help those she loves and cherishes those who stick with her even after they see her true self. Ultimately, most of Ellen's wild behaviors can be considered cries for attention. Whether she really enjoys being the Goddess of love and beauty is actually a bit clouded. She claims to love her past, but flashes of disdain can sometimes be seen while she is admiring herself, and when discussing past romances a forlorn look can be caught gleaming in her eye. When around self-conscious or self-loathing people, she can't help but try and convince them to see their inner beauty, though her way of putting things may come off as a bit blunt or rude. She started wars, cursed lovers, made lovers, all with the intention for having eyes on her. She was a petty goddess, though many myths tell of her matchmaking capabilities and wondrous ability to make anything beautiful. As her time in the past went on, however, Aphrodite gained a promiscuous image around the other Gods on Mt. Olympus. Hera, in an effort to quell her meddlesome ways, paired Aphrodite with the god Hephaestus, who won her hand by saying he 'worked till late'.

Of course, Aphrodite was an unfaithful wife. She bore the children of both mortals and Gods alike, and would gladly do it again despite the complaints of many of the other deities. Aphrodite was like a bird in a cage who never wanted to be captured, a flighty, sing-songy girl. She gladly escaped into the mortal world at times just to attract the hearts of lovers and cause a bit of mischief.

When the war between Gods came along, she did her best to stay out of trouble, but in the end caused quite a few conflicts with her sensual, seductive ways. When the idea of the pact came along, Aphrodite wasn't too keen on giving up her godly powers. Hera otherwise forced her to put her name down, and the unenthusiastic Aphrodite returned to the mortal world with her mind on one thing: Revenge. Revenge on the humans whom the other gods wished to protect, and revenge on the gods who made her lose her powers in the first place. Of course, after a few years of wallowing in her own rage she began to simmer, and even started countless lovely relationships with countless different mortals.

Aphrodite eventually took up the name Ellen during the middle ages, and though she stayed in the shadows for most of human history she did attempt to act as a matchmaker for very few scholars and scientists. In modern times she has managed to make herself known as a fashion designer, and she continues to sleep around with mortals, finding their heart-broken faces to be the most beautiful and amusing thing out there.[/indent]

To keep up her impressive body, Ellen exercises often and can be considered quite fit for a woman her age. She is a feminist, one who sees the world as a men-filled cesspool, and even if she despises the looks of a certain woman she will do what it takes to defend them from the harsher words of others. When it comes to "motherly chores" she often falls flat. Ellen is an awful cook, and is very disorganized, but when it comes to looking out for the mental state of others she is very delicate. She can cast an illusion onto herself or others, making them more beautiful or ugly if she decrees it, and these mental images all depend on how perceptive her foe is. To most they appear too life like, but to others they may appear muddy or translucent, like ever-shifting watercolors.

Aphrodite was a skilled matchmaker back in the day, as well as a maker of potions that could harm or mend a relationship. With her hand she could give a poorly maiden or man extreme beauty, or take the beauty of another away, those these powers have since been downplayed to be mere illusions. Aphrodite is able to attract the minds of lesser monsters and manipulate them slightly, though of course this only works on beings with dumber minds.[/indent]
