Hey everyone! So I decided on putting this in advanced mostly because the nature of the rp itself will be somewhat interwoven between characters. I'm fine with two decent length paragraphed posts (If your like me it normally turns into more) but at the same time am looking for very committed people: I think for this to succeed there would need to be quite a bit of collaboration between, well, everyone. Perhaps the proper term would be advanced light? That being said I wont even launch this unless I can somehow get atleast 2 really experienced rpers (With running rps and useing this site itself) to help me run things/finish the WIP I have begun-along with enough interest to actually run the rp; it is listed as small group but would still require a certain number of people to work. Keep in mind also this is a WIP as of now but I do have most of the ground work laid. Now for all the people I haven't scared off yet I will move on to actual rp details, hopefully it will intrigue a few of you.
That is completely for the player to decide: cowboys, gunslingers, freed slaves, prospectors, ex soldiers, prostitutes and everything inbetween are all far game. Think of those Old Western movies we all love; those are the type of characters that will inhabit the town of RoseWood. Don't worry about complete historical accuracy when making up your sheet, the intention of this rp is to capture/have fun in a Western themed setting-not to argue about the official date a winchester repeater was invented. Also feel free too ask either me or the co-gms ill hopefully have soon about creating your character around the various events taking place in town. I will be posting a list of the events/current state of town at the bottom of the page.

All sorts of things. The idea for this rp is to have simultaneous things happen in town whether our characters are interacting with them or not. Whether we choose to interact or not these events will reach their own conclusions; often resulting in new situations or somehow impacting the town. Likewise most characters will/can have their own plot or agenda within the town itself.

We will not be specifying any time period save for "after the civil war." As stated above this is to avoid having to painstakingly stick to historical accuracy. Once the group is finalized we can also decide on a set "year" if we want.

Our rp will be taking place in a small town called RoseWood and the surrounding areas. ((This particular area I need help in nailing down-Part of me was just thinking of referring to it as The West or simply West: Kinda like "Oh Im from back in Arkansas, just decided to come out West for *insert whatever here*"-I was also somewhat leaning towards the idea of creating a fictional territory/county where RoseWood is actually located, not sure on the best thing to do here so we'll just see what others say on it.))

Reasons as to why your character is in Town can be extremely varied. Again, feel free to check our OOC section for the current State of the town-this will probably give you a good idea for a character to create.
-Town Description(Subject to Change)- Despite its modest size for a frontier town RoseWood has in actuality only been around for a handful of years, unfortunately all twelve founders of the town met their untimely ends in the following years to come due to nothing more than the harsh nature of day to day life in the West. The men and women who had founded the Town were quick to give it the nameRoseWood on account of the ample trees for building material; that combined with the odd annual explosion of roses growing seemingly everywhere and somewhere along the way "RoseWood" just sort of stuck. Unlike most towns that built up and died quickly due to having nothing worth producing or selling RoseWood lucked out; a local prospector discovering what was so far the fourth largest salt mine in America within the first year of founding the town. That was all it really took to convince a fair number of people to stake a claim in the area, the true RoseWood rising up in the following months. The main strip of town (and the only real strip of buildings to speak of to this day) was built around the already existing Saloon and General Goods store; up until that point the "Town" had been little more then a rest stop for the odd groups traveling by. These days the main strip boasts a whopping Fourteen whole buildings, all of which were constructed with local lumber. The town itself is laid out like most frontier towns of the day with the buildings literaly beings built right against each other. Most permanent residents of the town live in small shack sized houses of varying quality on the outskirts of the Main Strip; the wealthier tending to have fancy but rather tiny homes squeezed into the Strip itself-it is also not uncommon for the less fortunate or rougher types to just pitch a tent on the outskirts of town and call it home. --Map of the Town-- http://i.imgur.com/RvdAkam.png
-Lumber Mill/Camp: Located about an hour out of town by horse-it is a camp that continues to move as they clear trees so there is no real "permanent location" -The Salt Mines: Located about 30-45 minutes out of town by foot. It is somewhat high up in the surrounding hills so depending on weather it can be rather hard to reach. -The Train Station: About two days out by Horse -A small Schoolhouse & handful of Shack sized homes and Tents can be found just outside of the Main Strip. -There is also a number of farms and cattle ranchers who live varying distances outside of town. -The Hill: A simple name for a rather dark place The Hill is an extremely large hillside used by the locals of RoseWood for burying their dead. It's about a fifteen minute walk from town and its tombstone littered surface is visible from almost any part of town. Many Lawmen and Murderers alike make The Hill their final resting place

**Note: As I said in the intro this rp is still a work in progress, every unnamed character you see in the following descriptions is open to apply for/somehow tie into your own characters. Once we have enough people for the rp the co gms and I will look at the remaining roles that haven't been filled and will create NPCs accordingly. (these unnamed characters would be entirely yours to create though, meaning if you wanted to apply to be the lower class saloon owner the only real requirement I would expect him to have is that he owns the lower class saloon in rosewood-the rest of who he is is up to you.)** -Currently the sheriffs office of RoseWood is unmanned, the position open for the right person who can fill the shoes of the late Sheriff ____. Lately the town has been letting Mr.___, the local owner of the upscale saloons hired hands sort out "justice". There is an upcoming Town vote for a new sheriff. -The two Saloon owners are in a mercantile war of sorts, the much more upscale saloon vying for a complete monopoly in the town by constantly undercutting his already lower class competition. -A train station a good ways away has recently been built up leading to a slight influx of settlers in the surrounding areas. -The local Salt Mines owner ____ has recently passed away under rather suspicious circumstances. His partner, the same man that owns the upscale Saloon, is doing his best to find a loophole in the mines new ownership before the inheritor of his dead partners estate arrives in town. This inheritor can be whatever the player decides-a now widowed wife? The estranged son or daughter? Or perhaps an old buddy from the civil war? Its up to you. -The well known ____ gang has been robbing stage coaches and stealing cattle the past few months. As of now a reward has not been issued for them. Also noteworthy is that they are a gang of mask wearing bandits, this has lead to some paranoia that the actual criminals live in town. -A good number of cowboys on an annual cattle drive are due in town any day now. Because of this the Town has seen a huge influx of goods at the general store and are enjoying a small boost in stock of things like tobacco, good quality material for clothing, and other luxury items. Like most years store owners are hoping to capitalize on the annual cattle drive. This has also caused...(see below) -Old man ___ who runs the local General Goods Store is extra grumpy as of late which has drivein prices on most goods up. The reality of the situation though is the current string stage coach robberies have hit his buisness especially hard. -The recently built railroad has extremely upset the already agitated local indian tribe and war parties have been on the rise as of late; Towns and large groups are the only things the indian war bands do not openly atack. -There is also tension on the outskirts of town as the bordering ranches and farms are concerned about being targets. _____promises as Sheriff that he will protect them, hunting down the Indians. (see below) This has won him some support of the ranchers. -As of right now ___, owner of the local upscale saloon, is offering a reward of 15 dollars per indian scalp. -Much to the Towns chagrin the travelling salesman of "Tods Terrific Tonics" is back in town yet again with a newly crafted elixer that he "swears works this time."
