To some he is a man of great respect, a legendary hero that has fought for his ideals and won. To others he is an opportunist and a fiend, an infamous villain that took power through bloodshed. The truth is these descriptions are all of the same man and they are all accurate. Though noble in presence he justifies all his actions as a means to an end. He truly believes he is saving the world and unifying all the people, and he isn't afraid to slaughter anyone that gets in his way of that vision. All who oppose him are an evil that must be destroyed. He is all that is good and just, so any enemy is naturally evil and irredeemable. The greater good, to Ryuunosuke, is something worth reaching even if he has to climb a mountain of bodies to achieve it.[/i]

[i]The origin of the man named Ryuunosuke Hamajō is shrouded in mystery. There are no documents or eye-witness accounts, he seems to have simply appeared fifteen years ago as a mature and worldly teenager. There are rumors and stories of his early life but none have been confirmed by Ryuu. Even his closest friends and allies have only sparse details on his background. One of the popular propaganda pieces from the beginning of the Hamajō Confederation was the intentional spreading of a rumor that he was truly born from a dragon. This was intended more to bolster support than actually explain who he is, but it caught on as the prominent myth to serve as his "explanation."

The earliest report of his existence came when a young, blonde teenager wearing homemade pelts as clothes while carrying a sword entered a clothing store in a rural town just south of the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning. When questioned about his clothes he said rather simply [color=gold]"my old ones were too small and I didn't have many options."[/color] When asked who he was, he simply replied [color=gold]"Ryuunosuke Hamajō."[/color] After performing several oddjobs to pay off the man for a modern wardrobe he left the city to continue on his journey. This was the first time his name was spoken and it was far from the last.

Over the next four years he traveled across the world like a wandering swordsman. He was only a teenager at the time, many didn't take him seriously, and many more tried to take advantage of him. Despite the cruel world he lived in, he was a kind soul. A strong soul. He always spared his attackers, granting mercy on most who crossed him. It was through this kindness that he made his allies. In time he had gathered a group of six followers, each one a man or woman he had defeated and spared. These friends, too, had their own followers and connections. They were all powerful, strong shinobi from all over the world. People of respect and admiration, and they all respected and admired Ryuunosuke.

He was a kind and merciful soul. He was a champion of peace. His name began to spread and his group was given the name of the Dragon's Den. While his fame grew and more and more people joined his cause, Ryuunosuke grew [u]less[/u] kind. His merciful nature, after years of being tested, began wearing away when he was seventeen. The change was slow and gradual. Many didn't notice it, Ryuunosuke to this day hasn't noticed it, but somewhere along the line he [u]stopped sparing his enemies[/u]. But it didn't matter by that point. He had a small army of loyal followers, positioned all over the world. Dragon's Den was becoming big enough for the Kages of the Hidden Villages to take notice. But by then it was already too late.

All they needed to create a new world order was a spark. They had many thousands of supporters and the potential to gain hundreds of thousands. The idea of world peace and global harmony was enticing, after all. The message they preached was that only through unity could everyone come to a mutual understanding. Only by coming together could mankind be strong enough to carry on. The spark came when the leader of Amegakure publicly cast the seven prominent members of Dragon's Den out of the village. He claimed they were a cancer to the world, that they would only cause global warfare if they continued on their path. He demanded they leave his village and never step foot in it again. A fifteen year-old Ryuunosuke would've accepted the man's decision and demonstrated his kindness and understanding by leaving. But Ryuunosuke was nineteen now. He no longer spared his enemies.

Amegakure was the first to be taken in. His army of supporters only grew, making Dragon's Den a very important and very powerful organization. This prompted a name change, at the behest of Ryuunosuke himself. If they were to lead the people fairly it could not be left up to one person. Instead there would be a council at the top, an oligarchy. These nations would become one big confederation, Ryuu proposed. And from that day forward began the rise of the Hamajō Confederation.

The rest is history. In less than a year the Hamajō Confederation was able to secure all the Hidden Villages, forcing their respective countries into submission. Each nation in the Confederation was represented by one of the original six members of the organization, with Ryuunosuke serving as the President of the Council and accordingly the President of the Hamajō Confederation. Their victory was celebrated across the world by their armies and supporters, but their work was not yet complete. The world was not yet properly unified. Enemies to the peace still existed.

He was so young then, practically ruling the world before he was even twenty. Times have changed, he has changed. What was once a kind boy has grown into a hardened man. Peace could not be maintained through kindness, he reasoned. It could only be kept through order, loyalty, and force. This was unanimously agreed by the entire Council. The groundwork for a prosperous future had been laid out, and to some extent it has succeeded over the past eleven years. Many people are happy and safe. But not everyone. The Red Sages, in particular, have been the biggest thorn in Ryuu's side. These violent and chaotic rebels. They failed to understand his vision, to understand what's best for them. Their mere existence was a sign: Ryuunosuke's utopia was far from complete. He hadn't achieved world peace yet. There was still more obstacles in his path. Even after unifying all the nations he still had enemies.

[i]The hopes and dreams of Lord Hamajō are no secret: his greatest wish is to unify the entire world in a peaceful, prosperous utopia. He has already made great strides towards accomplishing this and shows no signs of changing his mind. His fears, on the other hand, are less known. First and foremost would be the fear of the Confederation collapsing. But, after that, he is known to be paranoid of his own organization for traitors, constantly ordering investigations in an attempt to expose any and all assassination plots against him. A small fear he has that is only known by the select few he had begun the Hamajō Confederation with is his mild fear of crowds and public speaking. This is something he can keep under control, but he is always visibly uncomfortable when surrounded by many people. This also relates to his paranoia.[/i][/indent]

He doesn't withhold his opinion aside from rare circumstances and is surprisingly a capable listener to the opinions of others. Many find him to be a reliable person, the kind of guy who will fulfill a promise if he makes one. He will talk tough, and everyone knows he is strong, but he is never quite intimidating. [i]Born to a simple family in a simple home, Katsuko was raised to become a shinobi like his father, Jinkama. His mother and father took in his older cousin when she was nine and Katsuko was six, due to her parents' tragic deaths in the field as shinobi. Between him, his father, and his cousin, the Moto household had plenty of shinobi and training together. While Jinkama had always been a prodigious swordsman, Katsuko and his cousin Keiko turned out to be geniuses in their own respective fields of taijutsu and ninjutsu respectively.

As Keiko and Katsuko became older teens the Hamajo Confederation took over. Katsuko was only a chuunin at the time but still tried his best to defend Konoha alongside his family and comrades. But the opposing army was too great and the order to surrender was given once Konoha's leaders had been slain. The Choko siblings that were in control had perished and the jounin commander disappeared without a trace, forcing the cooperation of the rest of Konoha's forces. After a while Katsuko grew accustomed to the new way of life. But his father never did.

Jinkama was one of the first to join the Red Sages, secretly leading operations against the Confederation as a senior officer. It wasn't until Katsuko was already 22 years old and a fresh jounin himself that his father was finally found out. In an ambush attack he was struck a mortal blow, killing him later that night from his blood loss and damaged heart. In his dying hours he confessed his plans and ideals to Katsuko and his cousin, spurring them both into action. The Confederation came to their house the next day, retrieving Jinkama's body and subjecting the entire Moto family to a thorough investigation. They passed and were let go, but were put under watch for several months following the event.

After his leash had been loosened, Katsuko joined the Red Sages and brought his cousin along too. Unlike their father they were young and unfit for leadership. This made it easier to stay under the radar, but it meant they were only grunts in the grand scheme of things. Over the past few years they have made their way up the ladder, earning respect from their peers for their strength and skill as shinobi. Lately Katsuko has become interested in taking a leadership role for the cause, much like his father did before him. Only this time he has made sure to cover all his bases and prioritize the secrecy of his plans, which his father clearly failed at. Only time will tell how this strong, determined young man will affect the outcome of the brewing civil war.[/i]

[i]Growing up in a tight-knit household, one would expect Katsuko to be very close with his family. But considering every member of his family is largely independent, they are actually quite distant despite their good standings. Whether it is out of stubbornness or laziness, one cannot tell. But the Moto family rarely gathers, but when they do they all appreciate and respect each other like any functioning family would.[/i]

While his ranged options are limited, he has little difficulty in closing any gaps of range to maximize his offensive prowess. His durability and sheer determination is nothing to shake a stick at either, allowing him to tank blows in order to easier land hits on his foes. While his strength is already something fearsome, he is known to exploit his opponent to tip the scales even further in his favor. He may not be the brightest bulb but he sure is the toughest, and he knows it. Expect a beating from hell if you dare cross Katsuko.[/i]

By using his eyes as a medium, Katsuko is able to access the chakra of his opponents through their eyes (tapping into the first two of the Eight Gates). This allows Katsuko to steal his foe's chakra simply through eye contact. The range does not matter, as it is eye contact at any range, but the duration of contact that determines the loss. An inept user may drain chakra slowly, but someone as versed as Katsuko can drain an enemy of their entire chakra pool in less than ten seconds of maintained eye contact. The chakra that is siphoned goes directly into Katsuko's system, powering him further and allowing him to demonstrate more strength and speed on top of gaining more stamina. A crafty and debilitating ability, but not the most stealthy. When using this ability, Katsuko's eyes turn from red to gold and have a faint glow. This can be considered a warning, as any and all eye contact made with him at that point will drain chakra, regardless of whether they are friend or foe.[/i]

[i]The ability to drain chakra from an enemy at a distance, without prior contact, is a pretty good strength. It stacks further when one considers that Katsuko can effectively grow faster and stronger through the duration of a battle while his foes grow weaker and more tired at a much greater rate than they normally would.[/i]
[b][u]Weaknesses:[/u][/b]
[i]An obvious way to avoid losing chakra is to avoid eye contact. If one makes eye contact and then breaks it off, the siphoning is broken off as well. Chakra may drain at an alarming rate, which experienced shinobi will feel and realize quickly that Katsuko is draining them, thus allowing them to avert their gaze before they reach the point of passing out. Avoiding eye contact altogether prevents any less of chakra. However, an actual weakness here, Katsuko can only absorb so much energy before he would overload. This amount is incredibly high, however, and would require many, many shinobi to accomplish. A more realistic alternative is to make him absorb "unsafe" chakra, such as Natural Chakra, which Katsuko's body would be unable to withstand in quantity. If he somehow overloads or absorbs a substantial amount of unsafe chakra, then his chakra system will be disabled and he would likely die.[/i]

[i]This is Katsuko's ace-in-the-hole, his ultimate technique if you will. It requires no handseals to activate but takes five seconds to properly manifest. Throughout the five seconds of warm-up many dozens of eye tattoos appear across his entire body. At the five second mark the black tattoos all turn golden and activate. These become conduits for Katsuko's eyes. Being that Katsuko is now looking through many angles around him all at once, it leaves him with no visual blind spots. However the true power of this technique doesn't lie in visual acuity but instead by serving as a medium for his Kekkei Genkai. While normally a foe may be able to fight to some degree by avoiding eye contact with Katsuko, this technique makes that almost impossible. Looking at him at all will result in losing chakra, fast. Even more so: this allows him to steal chakra from many people all at once. Naturally this means his strength, speed, and chakra pool increase at a staggering magnitude of order. Whether he is fighting one man or an entire army it does not matter. The downside to this technique lies in its strength: by absorbing chakra at a much higher rate he gets closer to overloading on "unsafe" chakra at a much higher rate as well. A seemingly simple but devastatingly powerful technique in all, generally reserved for situation when Katsuko is heavily outnumbered but can be used if faced against a sly opponent that refuses to lose their chakra. It is worth noting that this will also steal chakra from allies, as Katsuko's eyes cannot pick-and-choose who they steal from. ANYONE who looks at him will lose their power.[/i]

A direct hit is fatal, and even a miss can deal severe damage due to the shockwaves and shattering earth. The impact is like a small earthquake and can disrupt the balance and focus of both friend and foe alike. An imposing attack that is mostly for striking fear into his enemies through demonstration of force rather than getting the direct hit, though it isn't very slow so direct hits can happen with grotesque result.[/i]

Using the element of surprise a heavy punch is delivered to the solar plexus (from the front) or the spine (from the back) depending on angle. Can easily defeat a foe by itself, only the hardiest of people will can take the hit. Dodging it is the best way to go for sure. Like seriously, dodge this fucking punch or it's over before it begins. Don't test Katsuko, you don't want to even try to block this shit.[/i]

[i]An incredibly heavy weapon that very few can wield. A three meter long steel rod with half its length fitted with two solid steel spheres. This makes the handle a meter-and-a-half and the striking area the same length. This massive weapon weighs a literal ton, meaning that for the few like Katsuko who can swing it it will provide terrifying power behind every blow. Not only does its sheer size and imposing figure strike fear into his foes but just one swing is often all it will take to make an opposing force surrender. Nobody wants to die from being crushed and having all their bones broken simultaneously. Katsuko keeps this weapon sealed in a small scroll he keeps on his belt, as carrying it around would be awkward and uncomfortable. He can wield it without Chakra Enhanced Strength or using his Kekkei Genkai, but without either his attacks become slow and easy to dodge. With his "buffs" active he can wield this behemoth like a samurai would wield a katana.[/i][/indent]

[b]First and foremost, Mirai's most striking feature is not her blue hair, the scar on her nose, her red eye, or even her blind left eye. It is her left arm, or rather the lack thereof. When out of the house she has a metal prosthetic arm in its place to allow her to keep functioning as a shinobi. While her stature is generally slim, not having any more muscle than she needs to lift her own weight and move around at an acceptable speed, her prosthetic arm is a bit bulkier than her real one. As for clothes she generally wears the garments depicted in the picture above but is known to wear dresses on fancy occasions or wear heavier clothes on chilly days. Due to wearing heels many think she is of average height but she is actually on the short side, standing at a mere 158cm tall.[/b][/center]

[i]Pragmatic, cynical, and doubtful. Mirai has a bad habit where she doesn't have much self-respect or self-confidence. She is quick to rely on others, both in and out of combat. While she is weak-willed that isn't to say she has no will at all. In fact she can be very stubborn and determined when pushed hard enough to rely on herself. This can come across as almost hypocritical, as her passive and depressing personality would make one think she would be unable to actually try to do anything. To that same effect, once Mirai has actually bolstered her will she casts away pride, honor, and any other emotion that would impair her actions. There is no such thing as a "low blow" to her. If she has to fight, she will go to whatever length it takes to survive or kill her opponent, depending on the situation. She isn't prone to rage, but many think that she enters an enraged state due to her ferocity even though her actual emotion would be more akin to panic or fear.[/i]

【[U][color=0072bc]History[/color][/U]】
[i]Born to the wealthy Yumiya family, Mirai was raised just as one would expect from her class. Most of the parenting she received was from household servants, particularly her personal servant Aneka, while her real parents were too busy. Busy with what? Her father, Makoto, has been a part of the Hamajo Confederation since its early days. Nobody knows what he does, exactly, but he had supplied his fortune when it was first starting up. He doesn't seem to do much anymore yet still holds prestige and position among the government for his support. Now Mirai's mother, on the other hand, had even less of an excuse. She had no job. She instead dedicated her life to knowledge, reading as many books as she could even at the cost of family time.

So that was her early childhood. She received in-home education, private tutoring from Aneka, for several years. But, as she began to mature, she realized that she didn't enjoy her life. It was boring, dull, had no meaning. Her family wasn't loving, she had no friends, and had no talents. When Mirai was eight years old she decided she would go to Konohagakure to learn how to become a shinobi at their academy. Naturally her parents were against the idea initially, but it was evident they had some kind of love or bond with their child for they eventually relented and granted her wish. Since there was no family in Konoha nor could her parents spare the time to go with her, Mirai was attended by Aneka for the "duration of her stay in Konohagakure."

And so the two traveled. Mirai began attending the Ninja Academy and so did Aneka, despite the fact the servant was already a full-grown woman. Aneka Toyama figured she would need to learn the shinobi arts if she wanted to properly care for and protect Mirai. The young girl became a genin at the age of 12, but it was apparent that she was not particularly... skilled. She was among the bottom ranks of her class and despite growing over the years never really improved at the same rate her classmates did. At first it frustrated her, but after a while it became something she felt accustomed to. She was given low-expectations, little respect, and barely any time of the day. Ironically it was nothing new to her. Mirai couldn't make any progress as a genin until she was sixteen.

A mission went horribly wrong. The squad she was in was supposed to eradicate a bandit camp. But somehow, some way, the two chuunin and one genin were not prepared enough for the battle. Once her squadmates had been defeated and captured, Mirai attempted to flee but to no avail. She simply wasn't fast enough to escape or strong enough to break free. The resulting beating she received ended up putting a scar across the bridge of her nose and leaving her blind in one eye. The bandits later tortured the teenagers, trying to extract information out of them. Mirai attempted to escape during her interrogation, prompting an angry and violent response from her captors and resulting in the loss of her left arm.

That night the squad was rescued by a (better) team of shinobi. After the bandits had all been killed or captured, Mirai was given medical treatment but they could not find her severed arm to attempt to reattach it. She was later told that it was the Red Sages who had done this damage to her, and that it was likely her career as a shinobi was over. Her hampered vision and physical capability made the Confederation put her on indefinite standby, a polite way to say early retirement. While Mirai seemed accepting of her fate, her servant Aneko (who has been a chuunin for a while by now) knew that she was heartbroken. Rather than let her resign to her fate, Aneko contacted her parents back in Amegakure to update them on her situation and get their help.

And as such Makoto ordered the construction of a prosthetic arm that wouldn't just fully replace Mirai's original but exceed it's capability in terms of utility. If she was going to be a kunoichi then she was going to be a good one, and a good kunoichi needs good armaments. And arms. Mirai was shocked when she finally received the prosthetic, amazed at how well it worked and how useful it was. With a new motivation to get back into the game, Mirai began trying her best to work her way up the ranks. After receiving a new arm and undergoing intensive training with Aneko she finally made it to chuunin rank at seventeen, granted it was by the skin of her teeth. Nevertheless she was proud of her accomplishment, despite her monotone demeanor and the disapproving looks of her comrades. Her next goal is to become jounin, though considering the slow climb so far she isn't deluding herself over the difficulty and time it will take.[/i]

【[U][color=0072bc]Family ties[/color][/U]】
[i]Mirai's family was never particularly close or intimate. Father was always busy, mother was always locked away by herself with her books, and Mirai was always left to her own devices. Most of her care was seen through family servants rather than her parents. While Mirai can't say she "loves" her family, she does hold a natural soft spot in her heart for them. The only time they really spent together was dinnertime and holidays. Otherwise they were all alone, despite living in the same house.[/i]

[i]In her depressing state, Mirai doesn't have many dreams. But, despite what she may say or feel, deep down inside she wants to become someone worthy of respect. Someone for others to look up to, like a role model or a hero. While she has a lack of dreams, she has no lack of fears. Ranging from the mundane such as bugs and dark places to the more serious fears such as having no friends, having no family, and even dying. Death is what she fears above all else.[/i][/indent]

[i]Mirai doesn't have impressive taijutsu, ninjutsu, or genjutsu skills. To combat her general lack of natural talent she has come to rely on weapons and tactics. She is proficient with many kinds of weapons and tools, using her skills and her arsenal to her advantage to combat her physically superior opponents. She prefers to keep range and use surprise attacks, making her a bag of tricks that could be potentially fatal to the unwary or overconfident. Mirai may come across as underwhelming but perhaps that truly is her greatest asset.[/i]

[i]A hidden spike lathered in a neurotoxin is propelled from the palm of her mechanical arm, reaching a full length of four inches. It pops out at high speed so as to punch through thin armor or cloth as well as breaking the opponents skin. Very useful as a surprise attack when the enemy is close. The spike will be retracted after half a second, concealing it and allowing full use of her hand again. The toxin itself can be lethal in large doses (i.e. stabbed multiple times) but most victims will survive even without medical assistance. The toxin numbs the target over time, eventually reaching the point where they have incredible difficulty controlling their body. In higher doses it even affects their thought processes as their brain is numbed as well. A single stab can't defeat an enemy unless they are small and have a fast metabolism, but two or three stabs will be enough to bring down an average-sized adult over the course of five to ten minutes. Four doses or more is when it starts to become dangerous, becoming lethal to the average-sized adult at six (that is: without proper medical attention).[/i]

[i]As compared to the hidden spike coming from the mechanical arm's palm, these needles fire from the outside of the forearm in a wide volley. A total of twenty senbon are shot out all at once, much like an open choke shotgun blast. Naturally the lack of accuracy hinders the effective range, but the senbon can travel over 100m from the propulsion. However, actually hitting a target at that range isn't feasible. Rather it is perfect for a painful surprise on an advancing enemy within 10m. The wide spray practically guarantees damage and the unexpected angle of attack adds versatility. Once the senbon are fired this attack cannot be used until Mirai reloads her arm, which is better done outside of battle due to the tedious nature.[/i]

[i]If desperate times call for desperate measures, Mirai can use her prosthetic arm as a bomb. As it is loaded with explosives, all it takes for her to activate the countdown is her own will and some chakra. Once triggered it has a three second countdown before detonation. This gives Mirai just enough time to detach the arm and reach a distance she where she will survive the shockwave and avoid the explosion itself. Once the timer is started it cannot be cancelled, but thankfully it can only be started by Mirai thanks to her chakra connection with the arm. An obvious downside is that Mirai loses her better arm from using this technique, and it took a good while for it to be built the first time. Getting another could take up to two weeks, leaving her weak and unfit for duty for that duration. Debatably the bigger weakness would be the possibility of her not getting out of the blast zone in time, as the fuse is short and the range is wide. Thankfully she's had some practice and could probably make it. Probably. Same goes for any opponents who realize what is going on. They, too, have the same three seconds to make a break for it.[/i]

[i]Made of steel and powered by chakra, this arm is far superior to the one Mirai had lost. Not only is it incredibly durable and stable, but it also has multiple hidden weapons integrated into the forearm for surprise attacks. It houses a mechanism that fires a brief volley of senbon, contains a hidden poison-tipped spike, and even multiple exploding tags that will detonate if the arm is severed from Mirai (again). It also boasts significantly higher strength as compared to her right arm, as the entire left arm up to the shoulder is prosthetic. Notably it also weighs a respectable amount, adding onto Mirai's total weight on a scale to make her seem much bulkier than she actually is. Despite this weight it moves at an identical speed to her right arm, though because it is made of metal it packs much greater force behind every movement.[/i]
