Vincent Gulfus & Leander Xenovia
Leander whooped with delight when he was chosen to be one of the volunteers. He looked around to see who his opponent would be, and headed in the general direction of the person the instructor had pointed, eventually reaching Vincent. "Hey there, are you the other guy?" Leander asked. He extended a hand for a handshake, continuing, "Name's Leander." Vincent looked awfully demented for a few moments before regaining his composure, his eyes seemed to flicker with what seemed a reddish tint, probably just the light reflecting off his iris's. For uncouth seconds he was silent upon being chosen for the spot of having the first action duel against somebody from the light dorm. Noticing the guy making his way towards him with what seemed to be purposeful strides, he stood still. "Yes I do believe I am your opponent," Vincent said as he begun his analysis of the other student: Blonde, Light dorm, Blue eyes, Avarage height, Standard build. Probably running some sort of a OTK deck focusing on Des Koala that would proceed to wreck him royally. Great. "The name's Vincent, you may know me from the rumour... it's not true." He said starting to walk towards the stage. Leander made his way to the stage as well, facing toward Vincent. Then the Action Field came up, and Leander found himself suddenly in a new place. The instructor gave them the official chant for Action Duels, and giant orb full of cards suddenly exploded above them, scattering the cards all over the field. Vincent watched the giant orb of cards float up and explode above his head in a brilliant wave of light and power. Scattering across the battlefield cards that would either help or hinder the hell out of them. Each card was a game changer. This is what defined a Action duel. That and Solid Vision. Vincent kicked the ground; it was pretty solid, even if it only had existed for a few seconds. "Are you ready?" Vincent asked as he activated his Duel Disk. "You bet I am!" Leander replied, also activating his Duel Disk.
Turn 1: Leander Vincent: 4000 LP, 5 cards, 0 Mon, 0 S/T Leander: 4000 LP, 5 cards, 0 Mon, 0 S/T "Alright, I suggest that you go first," Vincent said before he drew his first 5 cards from the top of his deck. Looking over each one individually he smiled a evil smile, if only he had drew this exact hand at the entry exams. Leander drew his first five cards as well, pondering for a moment how to use them effectively. Leander started, "I'll place two cards face-down, then Set this monster face-down too." As the cards appeared on the field, Leander ended, "Turn End." Turn 2: Vincent Vincent: 4000 LP, 6 cards, 0 Mon, 0 S/T Leander: 4000 LP, 2 cards, 1 Mon, 2 S/T Vincent drew his card from his deck. Adding it to his expanded hand he looked at the field. Leander had set a few face downs which could be almost anything. He looked at his hand again. He had a idea of what to preform. "Firstly I will discard Chaos Emissary, Chaos Caller from my hand to the graveyard to activate its effect of sending one DARK type monster from my Deck to the graveyard. The monster I choose is Chaos Emissary Umbra," Vincent said as a white ball of energy appeared on his field, dragging both itself and a darker ball of energy into his graveyard. They seemed to laugh and giggle all the way down. Quite disturbing really. Vincent wasn't finished with his turn though. "Next I will summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in Attack position and activate its effect to destroy the card you set first" Breaker lifted its arms in the air and preformed a magical chant. Runes appeared around Leander's set card before exploding destroying it in a brilliant shadow. Breaker the Magical Warrior - Level 4, ATK 1600 "Now, Breaker Attack that set card" Vincent said as the magical knight lurched forward and charged towards the set card like a maniacal thing. It raised it sword above it head and brought it crashing down on the set card. Leander was disappointed that his first set card, Negate Attack, was destroyed before he had a chance to use it, but such was the way of Dueling. When his set monster was destroyed, though, a four-winged angel appeared for a brief moment before exploding iinto shards. "You just destroyed my Shining Angel, allowing me to activate its effect," Leander explained. "When it's destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard, I can Special Summon a LIGHT monster with 1500 ATK or lower from my deck in Attack Position, and I choose the Tuner monster, Trust Guardian!" A small winged fairy appeared on the field, looking ferociously cute. Trust Guardian - Level 3, ATK 0, Tuner Vincent saw the Tuner appear on the field and instantly began to worry. He didn't have a extra deck. Synchro monsters were a pain in the ass... but hopefully he could deal with it. "My turn isn't over just yet. I set 1 card, and activate Veil of Darkness" Vincent continued as a the continous spell appeared face up on his side of the field, it caused his deck to be covered in a dark aura. "Now my turn is over," he finished as he passed the turn over to Leander. Turn 3: Leander Vincent: 4000 LP, 2 cards, 1 Mon, 2 S/T Leander: 4000 LP, 3 cards, 1 Mon, 1 S/T "Draw!" Leander declared, drawing his next card. "I Summon Harvest Angel of Wisdom in Attack Position!" An orange-clad creature holding a horn in one hand appeared on the field. Harvest Angel of Wisdom - Level 4, ATK 1800 "Battle Phase! Harvest Angel of Wisdom, attack Breaker the Magical Knight!" Leander commanded, the angel blowing its horn, sending a wave of sound down at the warrior. Breaker looked up at the angelic being, its eyes welting up with tears of pure utter joy to not have to look at the ugly thing anymore. Vincent wanted to prolong his monsters annoying reality as he ran for an Action card. Turns out picking up the card was a bad idea as it exploded in his face. Guess his monster was going to die after all. Breaker exploded in a sea of sparks as Vincent was sent sprawling across the floor mainly due to the Action Card he drew. Lousy Luck disappeared from the battlefield. Vincent: 4000 LP --> 3200 LP --> 3000 LP "Hmm...." Leander hummed as he wondered what he should do now. Having a breakthrough, Leander said, "Alright, now to Tune my Level 3 Trust Guardian with my Level 4 Harvest Angel of Wisdom!" The two monsters flew up into the air, transforming into 3 green rings and 4 stars, respectively. "Beast of light! Sap the strength of our weakened foes and strike them down! Synchro Summon! Level 7! Show them no mercy, Ancient Sacred Wyvern!" Leander chanted, the majestic creature circling in the sky Ancient Sacred Wyvern - Level 7, ATK 2100 "Bottomless Trap Hole!" Vincent yelled. "What!?" Leander exclaimed as a giant hole appeared on the ground, a giant green orc reaching up to pull his monster down. "I won't let you! I activate my Counter Trap: Seven Tools of the Bandit! By paying 1000 Life Points, I can negate the activation of a Trap card my opponent controls and destroy it!" Dark energy crackled around the hole, and it was forcibly closed without taking Ancient Sacred Wyvern with it. Leander - 4000 LP --> 3000 LP "Turn End," Leander said, relieved that he was able to protect his monster. Turn 4: Vincent Vincent: 3000 LP, 3 cards, 0 Mon, 2 S/T Leander: 3000 LP, 2 cards, 1 Mon, 0 S/T "All right, I draw" Vincent said as he drew his card. It was Battle Fader. It could stall the battle field for a turn but Vincent needed an answer to that dragon now. "I reveal to you the card I just drew, Battle Fader, and by using the effect of Veil, I can send it to the graveyard, allowing me to draw again," Vincent said as Battle fader flew into his graveyard surrounded by a dark aura. Vincent drew his second card. To his surprise, it was the leather bastard himself. Suddenly you could see a change in Vincent's eyes. They seemed to look hungry lusting for what seemed like the sweet taste of Victory. "I banish from my grave Chaos Caller and Umbra. Return to the void to fulfill my contract. From the True Space between reality I call, Chaos Sorcerer, with a hand full of light and a fist full of darkness he shall purge this world of your boundaries!" Vincent yelled with triumph as Chaos Sorcerer stepped out from a wall or was it space time. To be beneath the tower that Leander was on, looking up to both him and his dragon like they were mere obstacles to be obliterated. The Sorcerer smirked under their hood as they observed their prey with their dark yellow eyes. "Thats not all" Vincent said as he continued his turn "I banish from my graveyard Battle Fader to fulfil the contract of White Dragon Wyverbuster!" Vincent yelled as the Wyverbuster Burst down to his field in a shine of glory. "Now I summon Mystery Shell Dragon" Vincent finished as his army stood ready to lay waste to the Angelic user above. His hand empty Vincent hoped that this was it. Chaos Sorcerer - Level 6 ATK - 2300 White Dragon Wyverbuster - Level 4 - ATK 1700 Mystery Shell Dragon - Level 4 - ATK 2000 Looking up to Leander on the ledge. Vincent shouted something up "I do believe that this is it friend, I am afraid your Sacred Wyvern must leave us for a little while, Chaos Sorcerer If you please!" The Sorcerer did a little twirl of fabulousness as quite literally ran up the vertical surface of the tower. Once it had reached the top, it leapt till it was level with the Wyvern in the air. "Chaos Sorcerer, Banish Ancient Sacred Wyvern! Reality BREAK!" Vincent cried as Chaos Sorcerer lobbed a small ball of energy at the Wyvern causing what seemed to be time and space bending round a fixed point. It sucked Ancient Sacred Wyvern inside before disappearing as quickly as it came. Chaos Sorcerer landed on the ground and bowed to the audience, completing the spectacle. Leander was shocked to see his Wyvern disappear so easily, despite all he did last turn to protect it. Leander had no idea what to do now. His field was barren, and he didn't have enough Life Points to survive the incoming attacks. Then he remembered the cards that had scattered all over the field, and how Vincent had picked one up, albeit getting punished in the process. Wasting no time, Leander looked around the area he was in, attempting to find a card of his own. Luckily, there was one nearby, so Leander ran over to it to pick it up. The card read, "No Action." At first, Leander thought he had scored, but after reading the card effect, he saw that it wasn't going to help him. "Oh, no card to help you? No counter to stop the onslaught? Pity," Vincent said, obviously now reallyenjoying himself, watching to see what his prey did in its last moments. Leander was sad to see this Duel end so soon, but was glad that he did all he could with what he had before it was over. Finding a safe path to jump down from the top of the castle, Leander landed on one knee at the bottom, then got up wearing a smile on his face. "Well, you know what to do," Leander said, spreading his arms and inviting the attack. His prey chose the hero's death. Shame, really. Vincent wanted to see some fear, some human sense of dread. "Oh White Dragon Wyverbuster, Lay waste to this Herald of the Sky. Purifer's Burst Stream!" Vincent said as the White Dragon coiled back his head before unleashing a torrent of whitish black plasma. causing the air around it to cackle with energy. Leander let himself get hit by the blast, getting knocked back, sliding on the ground for some feet before stopping. It hurt a bit more than he expected, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. Leander - 3000 LP --> 1300 LP "To be honest, I expected more from a Light dorm member. I expected this to be a lost fight, but it turned out rather in my favour," Vincent said, his personality a little different now there was nothing in his way. The boy had bloodlust of fighting kind. Looking towards the crowd, Vincent decided to give them all a little message before he ended this duel. "All of you sitting there watching, know this: The outcome of a Duel is forever changing as moments pass, Until it reachs the End... What happens then, you shall bear witness to. Mystery Shell Dragon, ANTIMATTER PILE CRUSHER!" Vincent yelled as he ended the speech like he ended the duel, with something about to nose dive full force into something. Leander's smile faltered a bit as Vincent gave his rather depressing speech, and he didn't have much time think on the matter before getting struck by the finishing blow, ending the Duel. Leander - 1300 LP --> 0 LP
The field and the monsters faded away, revealing Leander having sustained a few minor injuries, but otherwise ok. Getting up and dusting himself off, Leander slowly made his way over to Vincent, then offered a celebratory handshake. "Good win, huh?" Leander asked, still wearing a smile on his face, albeit now tinged with a bit of uneasiness. Vincent was silently for a few moments after the match had ended, He had won spectacularly. Vincent felt satisfied with that match, His regular persona resurfacing now the fight was over. "Yeah. You gotta admit I went a little berserk at the end," Vincent said with a grin in response to Leander on the outcome of the match. With that reply, Leander's nervousness faded, and he chuckled it off. "No worries. I know I did badly. Besides, there's always next time," Leander said. "Come on, I'll take you to another friend of mine. Let's go!" With that said, Leander walked back to go find Tsukiko and Shinrei, with Vincent following him. Vincent was surprised by the sudden invite. He guessed that Leander now considered them friends after that match. His eyes glanced upwards towards the crowd. He was looking for a certain someone. Finding the blue haired girl whoms Vincent had taken a platonic interest in. Vincent gave Ethel a thumbs up. It seemed random but she could probably guess that he meant it to say How did you like that then! and not How you doing girly? Vincent could only guess her reaction as he continued following Leander to where two other people was sitting.
