[b]Family history[/b]: Born on December 26, 1991; the eve of the USSR's collapse. Her father was a airline pilot, who met her mother, an university professor, on a flight across Siberia. They are well-off in the pacific port city of Vladivostok, where their social status can be categorized as upper middle class. Her mother frequented Harbin Normal University as a guest lecturer, and Alena accompanied her to China several times. 

A mischievous and restless girl, Alena did not excel in school. Despite her parents having higher income and provided her with a variety of material comfort, Alena managed to develop a kleptomaniac tendency. Looking back to her earlier days, she realized stealing was not for the goods, but rather her own thrill. She hung out with the crowd most parents despised, and as she skipped classes, smoked cigarettes and committed the occasional crime, her grades quickly dropped. The only subject she did succeed in was English, which she taught herself through a combination of Hollywood movies and 90's music.

Her parents was displeased to say the least. Alena could not get into higher education, nor could she find employment in environments granting more than minimal wage. So she was sent to Moscow, where she worked in her uncle's office for two years. This experience calmed the headstrong young woman, and she eventually found the motivation to enroll in a tailoring program. She finished school at the age of 22, returned to her home city to found her own clothing shop and met her boyfriend there.
