"Look the real you is you. You don't have another person wandering around pretending to be you. Past, present, future it really doesn't matter. You're you and that won't change. Even if you were someone different before that just means you've changed a bit it doesn't mean that person isn't there it just means they've put on a different style. Think of it this way: An actor from hollywood doesn't throw away his real life for a role. He is still that person even though he's calling himself something different or even acting like a different person entirely. But he's still himself even if the line between character and person is different. The point I'm trying to get across is a person has many different sides just not sides of him or her that they know of. Somewhere deep inside a person's mind there are things they haven't tried yet that they could love if they just tried them out. But they're still the same person if they don't....I'm making this a whole lot more complicated then it needs to be. All I'm saying is that you're not someone else, the past you isn't a different you, and you're going to be alright by the end of it. Maybe you'll get what your looking for or maybe not but you'll still have the experiences you have now and that won't change what has happened before." Ben said trying to bumble out his good natured rhetoric but he wasn't sure if it was what the girl needed to hear or not. He wasn't some psychologist. He didn't know this young lady had all these problems. He couldn't solve them either he was after all just Ben. He wasn't special and while he wished he was one he wasn't a hero. When she broke out in anger and what he assumed was fear of something Ben couldn't have helped himself but feel taken aback. This was way more personal than he expected his little trip to be. But...he had to do something. He couldn't just stand there and do nothing. She needed a hand and who else was going to give her one but him at the moment? He just hoped no teacher thought he was doing something bad in the fusion room right now. Ben took a deep breath and let her say what she was going to say. When she stopped talking Ben once again mentally berated himself for pushing on through all of this but he wasn't going to just sit there through all of this. So despite the warm feeling in his face for the idea he decided he had to do it. Ben went over to Tsukiko and gently put his hand on her shoulder and gave her a smile. "Hey hey hey chill. No need to scream and no need to shout everything will work itself out if you reach out to it and try to grasp your true self." Ben said as he wrapped his armed around her and pulled her in for a gentle hug. It was a simple gesture nothing more nothing less. Some people just needed a hug. This seemed like one of these moments when it was needed. He was blushing a bit because he felt awkward but he tried to be as reassuring to her as possible without seeming like a total creep. "If you want I'll let you go just say so. I don't want to say anything on the matter because I don't know what's up. I don't know about who you're talking about but just too let you know...I know the feeling of having lost someone...but he came back to me eventually. You just got to wait patiently with an hand held open and wait until they take it." Ben said calmly as he wondered if he had overstepped his bounds...oh god he could see it now the school kicking him out for hugging a GIRL awkwardly...welp...that's just life for you...It didn't help that he probably smelt like sweat and dirt. He had after all not gotten much in the way of a shower today...should've thought about that before going on his mile runs today.
