Main point about Energy, [@Windicator] and [@Aurrorian], is that in early games such as Digimon World, and even in the Digimon Story series, Digimon do have an MP stat. Now, I know what works in video games doesn't work in tabletops, but, well, Digimon are sort of geared towards fighting, like, it's natural for them. So, I couldn't see justifying a daily limit to the number of Spitfires a Digimon can do, especially if they're as likely to miss or hit. I did, however, put daily limits on certain terrain modifying features. I feel like the Energy stat is just something that you don't MontyHaul with in giving items that recover Energy frequently if you see the players having an excess of damage output. Maybe it's not good to rely on that, but there's no hard way to stop a DM from putting something they don't expect a player to be able to use on an enemy, only for them to have what's needed to use it, or carry it around until they can. Example here.
Sure, This will probably happen eventually also. If I had to say, it's almost mandatory for that matter in VG where you really can just fight for your life every 7th tile no rest and no real other logical factor. It's a fair point that digimon don't exhaust their move pool easily, but can you really imagine wargreymon just spamming terra force in any story setting? I guess those might be in but having a CD might just work to balance the thing out but I saw nothing of the abilities so I don't know any numerical values to base my opinion on. I see you've also stumble on Jared on the off note. my take on the "predator incident" as told by jared, is that the GM should have been more careful with a particular item, if needed to be made in first place so that it just might be destroyed upon defeat so players would not get OP just like that. maybe facilitate it with an outside source or just give some OP ass potions with little duration (though jared has a video with dangers of potions).
