But, there’s another side to him, too. What most don’t know, is that behind the scenes, he isn’t an egotistical, stuck-up, self-centered money hogger, but in fact the most down to Earth guy you’ll probably meet. He’s always glad to meet fans, and is excruciatingly modest - he always says that he isn’t worth the excitement that most of them express. And he’s being honest, too. Sometimes, he’ll mess about with them, making jokes and friends both at the same time - we all have a mischievous streak in us.

But, he also has a secret that he hides from his fans. As a child, he was abused by his father, and almost got killed by him, too. This haunts him a lot, and he often can’t sleep because of it. He used to take anti-depressants, but he’s fortunately come past that stage, and only has to visit a therapist once every two months (though, he does have direct access to his therapist if he starts getting worse). [b][color=6ecff6]A Memory:[/color][/b] The cool taste of Dr. Pepper hit Miles’ lips, the condensation from the can dripping down and running off his hand. He embraced the warmth of the sun as it beat down on his face, also heating up the wooden bench he was sitting on. A group of teenagers cheered nearby, probably celebrating a successful trickshot, or beating a difficult level on a PS Vita. Suddenly, an ‘oof’ nearby dragged his attention away, and he turned to see a blonde woman picking up her shopping, with a man apologising repeatedly. Brendan got up, slinging his bag over his shoulder and walking over. He crouched down and picked up the items that had fallen out, placing them back where they belonged and picking up the remaining bags. The two exchanged words, before he asked her to lead the way, and they both walked to her place. That day was the start of what had to be the most successful relationship he’d have to date.
[b][color=6ecff6]History:[/color][/b] Brendan Miles Wilcox was born in Montreal, Québec to Marie Wilcox and Christian Baschét. His mother worked part-time in pharmaceuticals, and his father had a night-time shift as a shopping centre security guard. They spent time when either of the two were home, and Brendan had many fond memories as a child. His parents always took him out for walks in the hills, they got him the best toys for his birthday & Christmas, and they supported him all throughout primary school. They were possibly the happiest family alive. Until, one day, things changed.

It was a regular Monday night, and Brendan had just come home from school. He was going to cook himself a bag of rice, when he heard his dad in the living room. He went to check, and there his dad was, drunk as shit on the sofa. He was just about to go and phone his mother when his father got up, grabbed his wrist and told him that he wasn’t going anywhere. Miles tried and tried again to get away, until his father punched him in the stomach, pinning him against the wall. That night was the start of the years that Brendan wanted to forget. He wasn’t able to tell his mother, out of fear of his dad killing him, and so he suffered in silence for the next two and a half years. One day, however, his mum found out, and she called the police. They arrested Christian, and put a restraining order on him.

After that, Brendan did need to go to therapy, but did incredibly well in high school, getting fantastic grades. He definitely leaned towards drama and acting, but after that went down the drain (thanks to an embarassing audition where he puked all over the props), he had something else in mind - YouTube.

And so, he started saving up and buying equipment (with a little help from his mum), and set up a YouTube channel under “Brendan Wilcox”. He did a couple of videos on there, but when he saw his technique wasn’t right, he looked at the other big YouTubers, and how they did it. So, he tried again, interpreting the technique in his own unique style, combining the things he loved and doing videos about them, under the now well-known name “CanadianBacon”.
