BANG BANG SCRATCH The door to the outside rattled as the Grit pushed and scraped at it, determined to get at the prize that had got away. Somewhere in the distance outside, a long low howl rang out. The Grit abandoned the door, its attention attracted elsewhere. All seemed quiet.
"Uhhg." Otto let out a groan, followed by a pair of wheezing breaths. The startling presence of the medical robot had made his stomach twist into a knot, but realizing the lack of danger he quickly relaxed. His back, neck, elbows, forearms and hands burned in agonizing pain; the kind of pain he couldn't easily put away in his mind. Unbeknownst to him, his hood had fallen from his head revealing a bald, reddened scalp. His wrinkled face showed little expression and his eyes (mostly black, bordered with gray) showed little soul. After replacing the hood and pulling on his gloves snugly, Otto released his iron-grip on the sledgehammer and crawled into one of the hospital beds, letting both arms hang loosely from the sides.
