Bio: Edgar was raised in a small town on the outskirts of [Insert City Here] by his two parents, his mother a real-estate agent, and his father a catering chef. When he was born, he was very sickly, and was kept in the hospital for several weeks for monitoring, and his parents were given a home-therapy unit in which he slept for a month and a half afterwards until he became somewhat more healthy. However, his health is still compromised, and he will fall into drastic coughing fits should he breathe in irritants such as soot, industrial dust, or heat-activated or aerosol perfumes, and is not able to run for a sustained period of time. As a young child, he stayed inside due to his health, and often spent his time building puzzles or making macaroni art. Once he grew to school age, he was quick to make friends, and had a tendency to play with whomever was building with blocks. At a later age, he became interested in cards, specifically when one of his several friends taught him how to play Go-Fish. He began collecting playing card decks, which became a slight problem, as his habit of shuffling cards interrupted his studies on occasion, although he was not slow. In fact, he became proficient in card tricks, which he enjoys performing with his favorite deck, which has an elaborate, slightly visceral thorny plant-like pattern on the back in purple. Because of his love of cards and card tricks, he is not able to resist a game of chance.
Of the few outside activities in which he was able to engage, he gained an interest in bug collecting and archery, although he did not make as many lessons in the latter, and engaged in the more social game of darts more often. While bug catching with the small group of friends who shared the interest, he became greatly interested in the praying mantis, due to their being able to fight competently despite their small size.
Because his bug catching often went into the night due to searching for moths and fireflies. As a result, he has taken to walking around his neighborhood at midnight every night.
In an attempt to meet more people, he started an origami club in school. However, not many students were interested, although his now-closest friend was met as a result.
He despises olives, but loves Greek salads. Despite the fact that his father is a caterer, Edgar is unable to bake, but, when preparing food, always wears gloves, as he doesn't want to burn himself. Edgar always eats his ice cream with sprinkles, but does not know why he started.
He despises being called Ed, as he feels it sounds like a grunt more than a name, and he views "Eddy" as a childish name. Edgar also dislikes the sound of coins being rattled or rubbed together. Due to his poor health, his parents are very protective of him. He likes to line the inside of his jacket with snacks, and always wears it, rolling up the sleeves or unbuttoning it if its too hot, or staying inside. His parents made him take a selection of books on the upcoming camping trip, because of his teacher's summer reading requirements for the next year. He grabbed essentially random books from his family's small study, as well as the school library.
