It had been months. Months...and he still couldn't accept it as truth. She couldn't be dead, it wasn't possible. Hadn't she disappeared, or escaped death, or even beaten up Death himself, countless times? She just couldn't be gone... Felixter's thoughts haunted him like this in the room he had shut himself into. He and his friends had made temporary living on Shava awhile back. As such, he had already managed to get himself, Kayori, and Mirui another lab to stay in, which he had built and compressed into a small cube beforehand. In the space just outside of the hotel, he had planted and activated it, creating the lab. Currently, he was shut up in his main study room, having not even bothered to turn on the lights. He had a cat's eyesight, what did he need light for? Still, it worried his girlfriend Kayori, and Mirui was always asking why Felixter couldn't come out to play nowadays. Felixter regretted making them worry about him somewhere in the back of his mind, but at the front of his thoughts, taking up the most space, was the accident of months before, and how to get his sister back. Months ago, it had been a relatively normal life for Felixter's friends and family. And for them, normal meant having skirmishes with minions of the evil Master of the Demon Highlands- specifically his witches. It changed for the worst on a certain day, however. Felixter's sister, Sephie, and her two close-at-hand friends Meora and Kiroketsu, had been ambushed by 4 of the witches, Numirra, Noruani, Natasha, and of course, Nimika. They tried to fight them off as they had time and time before, and of course their other friends, like Ammi, Kayori, and Felixter himself had rushed in to help. It wasn't enough. Sephie, Meora, and Kiroketsu by extension were taken away by the witches. They were turned into witches themselves. Felixter led the group to go rescue them at the Master's headquarters back in the Demon Highlands. The girls (and Kiroketsu) didn't snap out of their brainwashed state until it was too late, and they had heavily damaged the party of their own friends. When they did snap out of it, a countdown started. Nimika had implanted magic crystals in Meora and Sephie, meant to explode only minutes after they began resisting their control. Thought their friends wouldn't, the girls (and again, Kiroketsu by extension) accepted their fates unusually peacefully. Despite Ammi's efforts to surgically remove the crystals on the spot, they exploded, and all that remained were big red splatters painting the floor. Fast forward to 3 days before this one. Ammi called everyone to a meeting in the lobby. Everyone who had been there when the centerpiece of their group and two of her best friends had gone down. "I...I think it's finally time." Ammi said gravely. "Time for what?" Felixter growled. He knew what was coming. Ammi eyes him sympathetically. "It's...been hard for all of us. She usually comes back much sooner than this, if she is coming back. It's been 3 months. I...it's my opinion that....this time, she's not coming back. I think it's finally time for us to hold a funeral. So we can stop waiting and move on. It's better for us all this way. I'm sure she wouldn't want us stumbling around in this gloom..." "So we're giving up on her, then?! She's not dead! I know that something like that wouldn't kill her or Meora." Felixter snarled back. "Felixter..." Kayori was choked up, and couldn't speak much. "Felixter, think about this." Ammi was continually, painfully patient with him. "These 3 months since Sephie's been gone...have been quiet. We haven't been attacked by any witches, or any minions of the Master at all. What do you think that means?" "It means they're focusing all their efforts on eradicating her wherever she's isolated with Meora and Kiroketsu, which means we need to be looking for them even more!" Felixter countered. "Felixter, please...we all miss Sephie and Meora. We know that...Sephie was pretty much all you had in terms of family. We understand that this is incredibly difficult for you." Ammi pulled the frantic cat demon boy into a hug. "...But we need to move on. We'll never forget them, and that's not what we're doing. We're only making sure that we can fulfill their wishes and be happy now." Felixter had blacked out then, but after waking up in the lab, Kayori had recounted to him that he had gone ballistic and started throwing magic attacks every which way. Since then, Felixter hadn't left his study. Kayori came and went, bringing food in and taking dishes out. Felixter didn't sleep anymore, but the one time he did doze off for an hour or so, he awoke to find himself with a blanket over his shoulders, and a pillow under his head. Currently, Felixter sat in front of his computer screen in his dark study. He had no idea what time it was, or what was going on with any of his friends in the hotel. He only knew that there was no way his sister, Meora, and Kiroketsu were gone. He refused to believe it, and if he had to, he would venture into the Underworld, Hell, or whatever it took to get them back. "You don't need to to that..." Felixter's ears perked up. He sensed a presence and a faint light behind him. He didn't turn around. "Who are you?" He asked slowly. "That doesn't matter." The voice was definitely female, and very....small. "I know where you want to go. I can take you there. But you have to trust me." Meanwhile at the hotel, everyone else went about their own business. Ammi was expecting more people from Sephie's circle of friends to arrive in Shava, to stay. She'd given most of them the gist on Sephie's disappearance, and was hoping that some more familiar faces might snap Felixter out of his everlasting gloom...
